“Marina— WOAH—” Pearl stumbled into her shared dressing room, hardly avoiding falling as she steadied herself. “Marina, what’s gotten into you?”
“Sorry, Pearlie! I just got too excited–I didn’t mean to push you like that,” Marina huffed, “I also forgot the door opened inward…”
Marina walked through the door, shutting and locking it while a very confused Pearl made her way to her vanity.
“Riiight, what’s gotchu so eager? Thought you’d be knocked out after the fest.” Pearl laughed, wiping off the small bit of makeup she had on. It was starting to feel all cakey and gross, even though it’d been reapplied not even 4 hours earlier.
“Mmh, I am. I’m just still running the high from dancing for that long, or something.” Marina sighed, walking over to her own vanity next to Pearl’s. “Maybe I got a little distracted, though, sue me.”
“Distracted? Whatever could ya mean, Rina?” Pearl had finished taking off her makeup, now jumping up to sit on Marina’s vanity. “Don’t tell me you were eyeing me up while performing . How scandalous! Wait till the tabloids hear about this.” Pearl said, squinting her eyes and smiling at Marina.
“Hush, you, or do I need to bring up how many times you’ve blatantly ogled at me during our performances?” Marina glanced over at Pearl, rolling her eyes. “I mean—can you blame me? You don’t usually wear things this…revealing.”
Pearl giggled at that, “My collarbone and shoulders are showing Marina. People like you are the reason schools have such restrictive dresscodes,” Pearl rolled her eyes, laughing, “Your whole everything is practically always on display, and you’re talking about me showing a couple more inches than normal.”
“It’s still more than normal! I don’t know—maybe it’s the how it resembles your clothes from back in the day?” Marina sighed, throwing her makeup cloth into the trash. “I don’t know, sorry Pearlie.”
“Babe, I never said I was mad, ” Pearl smiled softly, “My girl thinks I look good. If I were any lamer I’d be cheesin’ up a storm right now.”
Marina moved over to hold Pearl’s waist, sighing as she rested her head on her shoulder.
“Still, I hope I wasn’t too obvious…” Marina nuzzled her face into Pearl’s neck, soaking in her warmth.
Pearl moved her arms to rest around Marina’s back, messing with her longer back tentacles, “Well, even if people noticed, it’d just make us headline the news. Again. People love PDA.”
Marina hummed, leaving a light kiss near Pearl’s collarbone. Light enough she almost didn’t feel it.
“Oooh, so that’s why you like seein’ my neck so bad.” Pearl chuckled, face heating up. “Free real estate for your patented Rina kisses.”
“Maybe,” Marina said, holding onto Pearl tighter as she yawned. Tears lightly pricked at her eyes. “I just think you look good.”
“You gettin' tired baby? We can nap before headin’ home, we’ve had a long weekend.” Pearl said, softly petting Marina’s tentacles as they tried to wrap around her wrist.
“Mmmn, no. My body’s tired, but I wanna be with you for now.” Marina replied, removing her face from Pearl’s neck and looking at her in the face.
“You wanna makeout?” Pearl asked, rather bluntly. Her smile slowly grew as she watched Marina’s face go from tired to flushed with teal and a little stunned.
Marina smiled, eyebrows quirking in the way they always did when she was confused. “S— Sorry?”
“Do you. Want to. Makeout. On our couch?” Pearl repeated, lips curling into a grin at the way her wife was stunned. “Or not, if you’re not in the mood.” Pearl feigned indifference, moving slightly out of Marina’s grip.
“No! No, I would love to— to make out with you,” Marina breathed, “On our couch.”
Pearl smiled, a small thing, and gently pushed Marina off of her. She quickly made her way over to their couch, leaning back and motioning for Marina to sit in her lap.
“Your seat’s open, babe. C’mere,” She laughed, watching Marina snap out of her daze and rush over to make herself comfortable in her wife’s lap. Pearl reached to hold her waist, relishing in the feeling of her soft stomach in her hands.
“Y’know, you’s talkin' bout how good I look, but baby,” Pearl grinned, looking her wife up and down, “you look fuckin’ stunning, y’know that? Could go on for hours ‘n hours bout how hot you look.”
Marina could feel her face getting hotter under Pearl’s praise. How did she get so lucky?
Pearl continued to drone on about the parts of her wife she adored, and Marina simply couldn’t take it anymore. She dove in to kiss her, Pearl letting out an “ Mmph—” before quickly falling into the kiss like she always does. The kiss started slow, the exhaustion making the movements of their lips unhurried and languid. Eventually, Pearl pulled away to catch her breath, panting slightly.
“Damn,” She said, grinning and holding her wife closer to her, going in for another kiss.
Their noses brushed against each other as the kiss deepened, tongues meeting one another. The kiss is more frantic than the first, adrenaline coming back as it ramps up slowly in intensity. A cheeky hand slid up Pearl’s shirt, an innocent move, just the octoling wanting to be closer to her wife in any way she could. Pearl huffed out a breath, and Marina could feel her smile into the kiss.
Kissing her wife would never get old, Marina thought. Every time it was the same intensity, the same feeling, the same woman she’d fallen for time and time again. The press and pull of their lips together and the warm feeling of Pearl’s hands on her waist, it was all almost too much for Marina to handle. She was so, intoxicatingly in love with this woman, and knowing Pearl loved her just as much drove her crazy .
Marina pulled away, a string of saliva connecting their mouths as she moved back. She focused her attention on Pearl’s neck, mouthing at her pulse point and gently pawing at her sides. Pearl let out a hum, dragging one of her hands to the back of Marina’s neck and laughing lightly when the younger girl’s hair latched onto her arm.
Marina dragged her beak across her wife's neck, biting down lightly. Not hard enough to bruise (yet), but hard enough to cause Pearl to let out a sharp gasp and tug on Marina’s hair. She decided she liked that response, biting a little harder before pulling away and kitten-licking the now-forming bruise. Pearl grunted, and Marina pulled away just a little to see her wife’s smiling, drool-spattered face. Marina dove back in, biting and sucking marks into Pearl’s exposed neck and collarbone.
“Good—Good Cod, Rina—” Pearl stuttered out, breathing heavily, “You weren’t jokin’ ‘bout likin’ the shirt, huh?”
Marina hummed, too focused on marking and feeling up her wife to respond.
Pearl gently pried her face off her neck and rushed in to kiss her, hands moving to slide up and down her sides. Marina quickly invaded Pearl’s mouth with her tongue, licking into it while Pearl tried to keep up. The taste of spit and feeling of Pearl’s tongue piercing was all Marina could think of, moving her hands out from under her shirt to rest on her shoulders.
Pulling away to breathe again, Pearl and Marina just stared at each other panting. Pearl smiled and caressed her wife’s sides, nuzzling her face into her neck. Marina's face warmed as she looked down at the myriad of bruises forming on her neck. Those wouldn’t go away for a while—
“Y’er a good kisser, babe,” Pearl sighed into her neck, “Don’t think I could ever get tired of kissin’ you.” Pearl pulled back to admire Marina again, her flushed face and crooked smile just making Pearl’s smile grow even bigger.
“You gotta li’l somethin on your chin, though,” Pearl said, raising her thumb to swipe off some— some spit caught on Marina’s chin and—and sucking it off her thumb.
“You are disgusting, ” Marina laughed, in shock but honestly, not too surprised.
“Mmn, yeah, but you love me,” Pearl grinned, lips begging to be kissed again, so Marina obliged happily .
“I do , Pearlie,” Marina rasped between kisses, scratching her claws across the nape of her wife’s neck, “More than anything in this world.”
Pearl pulled back, smiling, and leaning in to kiss the exposed skin on her chest, what wasn’t covered by the overshirt or bra.
“I love you more,” She said, peppering her wife’s chest in kisses. One of her hands moved up to pull up her overshirt a bit, giving her more room to work with, “My baby’s so beautiful, so sexy n shit.”
“‘N shit’, how — how romantic,” Marina laughed, almost out of breath. Pearl’s attention was becoming almost too much to handle, between the kisses and the praise, Marina was about to die . “Get back up here , you.”
Pearl leaned back again and gladly met the octoling’s lips once again, running her tongue over her beak and swallowing her wife’s muffled sounds.
A loud knock on the door snapped them both to attention.
“Girls, are you in there? Your ride has been waiting for like, half an hour.” The voice, their manager, on the other side of the door spoke.
Marina broke the kiss and pushed herself off of Pearl, much to the smaller girl’s dismay.
“Ye—Yeah. Yes, we’re in here. Sorry, ah–” Marina stumbled, looking at Pearl who was still sitting and panting on their couch, wide smile adorning her face, “lost track of time. Tell our driver we’ll be out soon.”
“Alright, hurry up. They won’t wait forever,” Their manager finished and walked away, leaving the two girls to stare at each other and start giggling.
“Haah, Cod I really thought we were cooked that time,” Marina said, heading over to her vanity to pack up her things. “ Way too close of a call.”
“We’ve been riskier, Rina,” Pearl laughed, making her way over to her own vanity to do the same, “sides, they won’t come in. They know not to.”
Pearl glanced up and into her mirror, finally seeing the damage Marina had done to her.
“Oh my Cod, Marina,” Pearl spoke, almost in disbelief, “Eating on me like I’m a–a charcuterie board! Or—or something.”
Her entire neck and collarbone had been covered with love bites, most pretty faded already but some dark enough that they would be there for a while.
“Sorry, Pearlie—I guess I wasn’t thinking straight, or something,” Marina laughed, “We can cover them with makeup, or try and whisk them away.”
“Mmmmmmn, naaaah,” Pearl turned to look at her wife, “I’ll wear ‘em loud n proud. Just wish I coulda marked you up a bit too.
Marina huffed out a laugh, breaking eye contact and gathering her things, “If you hurry, and don’t fall asleep on the ride home, you still can,” She said as she slung her bag over her shoulder, moving to the door and waiting for Pearl.
Pearl picked up her things and moved next to the octoling, smiling as she muttered, “I’ll hold ya to that..” as they both walked out the door to their car
