Kimi didn’t know what to expect when Sebastian finally revealed himself in his true dragon form, but he was sure he didn’t expect this.
In his true form Sebastian was huge. He towered over the nearby trees and his green scales shimmered iridescently. He was powerful and intimidating and Kimi somehow fell even more in love with him.
Sebastian had told Kimi that dragon shifters existed when they had gotten together. At first he had thought Sebastian was playing a joke on him, but he soon discovered that he really wasn’t. There were just too many things about Sebastian that added up for it to be a joke.
For example:
1. How his pupils seemed to change to slits when he was mad.
2. How he ran hot, all the time, like a furnace.
3. How when he was really pissed, Kimi would see this shimmer hover over his skin.
………..and then there was the day he had witnessed the skin on his back tear open and giant green wings unfurl when he lost control over his dragon.
So yeah, after that little thing, Sebastian had to tell Kimi. Kimi had taken it as Kimi takes everything, in his stride, and that’s how it led to Sebastian revealing himself entirely to Kimi.
Sebastian had told Kimi that changing into his true form did hurt, (it already didn’t look fun just seeing the wings tearing through his back), and that he would do so in private so it wouldn’t freak Kimi out. He had also told him that there were different classes of dragon and that as a green dragon he was more agreeable to humans and more intelligent.
And now here Kimi was, standing looking up at his boyfriend and smiling so widely he didn’t think he could ever stop. “Sebby, you’re beautiful.”
The dragon gently lowered its head and Kimi carefully placed his hand on his snout, a soft puff of steam coming from its nostrils.
Kimi chuckled softly and marveled at the feel of the scales under his hand. “So fucking amazing, Kulta.”
Kimi had to wonder how these shifters ever kept secret with how huge they were, but Sebastian had explained to him that the soft shimmer over his skin disguises him when he fully changes. It did not, however, work on partial changes. So Sebatian was free to fly as much as he wanted to when fully shifted.
And wow. Flying.
He had never expected that Sebastian would want that. To soar above the clouds with Kimi on his back, but Sebastian was full of surprises it seemed and of course he lowered his head for Kimi to climb on.
And above the clouds it was peaceful. Sebastian had told Kimi that sometimes he flew to just get some peace in his head, and Kimi could see why. Above the clouds human life just drifted away. Nothing could reach either of them that high up.
It became a thing for them. When they both needed relief. They just soared together above the clouds.
After Sebastian told Kimi the truth, it seemed to help their relationship. They ended up getting closer, trusting each other deeper and yeah maybe falling in love harder. They became bound by the world they shared that’s just for them. It was perfect.
And some evenings, Kimi lies against Sebastian’s warm flank as the dragon curls it’s large head to shelter Kimi against the world and Kimi just breathes.
