Chapter Text
A land covered in snow and dead trees. It’s hard to believe this land used to be full of shops, homes, people, and life. ‘It seems i’m not the only one reminiscing’ Macaque thought to himself as he turns around to glance at the kid. The kid’s looking around with a sad look on his face clutching his furcovered arms. “Kid let’s keep moving, I want us to find shelter before the sun goes down.” Mk snapped out of his thoughts and ran to catch up to the one eyed simian. “Sorry, I was just thinking..” Mk says as he avoids eye contact. Macaque sighs and reaches out to pat his head, “How about we call it a day and camp out in one of these abandoned homes?” he offers. This idea seems to cheer the kid up given his expression brightens and gives a small smile. “Yeah okay” he replies.
They walk some more until Macaque finds a house decent enough to stay in for the night. As the pair walks in the dust covered home they start putting their bags down. Macaque spots a light switch and walks over flipping the switch up. “ Great, no electricity” He says sarcastically. He spots a gas stove and does the same turning the switch an yet again it doesn't work. “Mac they have a wood stove in the backyard!” Mk yells from the back of the house. “Nice work kiddo! I’ll go look for Firewood you stay here and set up the sleeping bags!” He yelled back responding. “Okay!” The kids says.
Walking down the road Macaque finally finds what looks like a former hardware shop and walks in. As he searches the shop he eventually found some old wood and grabbed as much as he can carry before heading back to the abandoned house. As he is walking back he looks over his shoulder to see the sun is starting to set. He take this as a cue to start walking faster
