Chapter Text
It was late October and Halloween decorations were lining plenty of streets, but even at this joyful time of year, crime was on a big rise. That wasn't too much of an issue for Hermitopia since the people of the city could rely on their beloved heroes to protect them.
Hotguy and Cuteguy were looking in on a spotting of villains and vigilantes. When Cuteguy split up from Hotguy, he was nearly attacked by villains from behind but luckily dogged it, which led to a fight breaking out between them. When Hotguy finally met back up with Cuteguy, he as well as his partner were hurt from fighting, but Cuteguy had it worse, and when it seemed like all was over, Cuteguy was taken out from behind.
That's what was told to the public anyway.
3:54 pm Around an hour and a half before the "incident" Date: October 27th
Grian was putting up the Halloween decorations while Scar was in the kitchen baking a cake for dessert later that night, the two had been best friends for years and they were also the other's partner when doing heroic work for the city. It seemed like everything was perfect with these two, they had two cats, a nice house, and a strong bond with each other, the only thing different was well, their abilities. While they were both definitely strong heroes, Grian had always been on the smarter and more strategic side of things while Scar was more courageous and outgoing than Grian was, and one thing for certain, Grian's ability was stronger than Scar's was.
Grian had a mixed ability which he attained from his absent parents, it was a mix between two powers called "Hawk" and "Cupid" The way these two powers had combined is still a mystery to doctors but "Hawk" allowed Grian a pair of wings for flight and "Cupid" allowed him to manipulate minds with a simple touch but the ability of it could be transferred to objects as well. When it was first revealed that he had this rare power mix, his birth parents tried to take advantage of that fact by having him work for all of these rich people but when they realized that he had very little control over the power(s), they abandoned him to the streets of Toko, Japan. Where he used to live before high school ended and he was moved elsewhere due to the events that had taken place during and a little time after high school.
While Scar's ability was called "Arrows" It made him able to conjure arrows from pure atomic matter, which came in handy. While he was undeniably very strong and had fast reflexes, his ability was limited and weaker than Grian's. Though, Grian had designed and made him a pair of false wings which allowed the pair to scope the city streets from above instead of on the ground. The wings were damaged during a fight though and had yet to be repaired so, they just stuck to having Scar on the ground and Grian in the skies.
So, while Scar baked a dessert, Grian was finished hanging up the Halloween decorations, well almost. He just needed a centerpiece to top everything off, so he went to the store for a bit to get the finishing touches for his Halloween masterpiece and stock up on Halloween candy. While looking through each aisle and grabbing what he needed, he ran into someone by mistake, they had silky white hair, violet eyes, golden eyeliner as well as lipstick. They did look very nice to the average eye, if he had to say but he didn't want to be rude so he apologized for bumping into them and continued shopping. The purple-eyed person though, took one look at him and knew.
5:24 pm The Actual Event of the "Incident"
It was the last mission of the night and the two heroes were tired so they were eager to wrap things up, and hearing that it was just a spotting of some villains and vigilantes relieved them a bit. It was when they got there they truly realized the sheer intensity of the situation, they were forced to split up.
Cuteguy took on the villains, and Hotguy took on the vigilantes. The fight between the villains was hard and risky, Gemini and Crimson were his enemies and they weren't going down without a fight. They fought well but not well enough, Cuteguy was able to see through their technique and was close to breaking them to their limits. That didn't change the fact that these villains weren't going to surrender until the fight was won, one way or another.
