MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE INTERVIEW WITH BRUISIN' MEDIA

GLASGOW -- It’s pissing rain here in Glasgow, but that doesn’t deter the teenage girls lining up outside Carling Academy to watch American emo heartthrobs My Chemical Romance take the stage.
We got to talk with frontman and one hell of a singer, Gerard Way and his brother/bassist Mikey Way about the tour, Warped, and how single My Chemical Romance really is. Gerard comes to us sans gothic makeup, still dressed in all black, and Mikey, with his pale skin and gaunt eyes, looks ready to be the fifth member of KISS.
BRUISIN: You guys just came from Vans Warped tour. How was that for you guys?
Gerard laughs. “We learned a lot on that tour for sure. All of us. Yeah, I think you can say we all learned a lot about ourselves and what we can and maybe can’t handle. It's hard, um really hard and maybe not for the reasons one would think. We had to leave a lot behind but, its’ good… it's good to start over sometimes.”
Mikey, who’s known for being of few words nods solemnly next to his brother.
BRUISIN: How are you enjoying the International tour life?
“It’s a dream come true for us. I mean all we’ve wanted to do since we were little kids is to be rockstars and now we’re really living the rockstar life.” Gerard looks to his brother. “The good and the bad that comes with it.”
BRUISIN: What's the most difficult part of being on the road?
“Where to begin. Frank’s big on complaining there's nothing to eat. And showering is always a difficulty. You would not want to smell our van. That’s for sure, always being on the road makes getting a shower a challenge. There really is no stopping.” says Gerard.
“Sometimes, I forget where we are,” Mikey says with a hollow laugh, “No matter what happens, you just gotta, get on stage. You’ve got a show tonight.”
Mikey seems to be living up to the emo title My Chemical Romance has fallen into.
BRUISIN: Are you a least meeting a lot of hot foreign girls?
“We’re not really the groupie type,” Gerard tells us laughing, but I find it hard to believe either of them can't find someone to bring home given the amount of screaming voices outside.
“It's been a lonely tour,” says Mikey. “I mean just because you like someone doesn’t mean they’re going to want you back so yeah, not seeing anyone, though, who knows, maybe- maybe in the next life I’ll get it right.”
BRUISIN: So we can let all the people at home know that Mikey Way isn't seeing anyone?
“It’s going to stay that way for a while,” Mikey says seriously, looking like he means it.
Yeah riiiiiight.

Hey everyone! My friend and I went to the My Chem concert in Edinburgh last night and we were wondering…. does anyone know what’s wrong with Mikey? To put it as politely as I can (luv u mikeyrevenge) he looked like shit.
I know their whole thing is like never showering lol, but I think there's a difference between being authentic and being comatose. everytime he blinked I thought he was going to freaking collapse. He looked paler then Gerard lol.
Anyone know anything? He seriously looks like he's been through it….

ohmygod okay i was at the show in london and i seriously thought the same thing. I know he’s totally mr. stoic but like he didn’t move AT ALL and THEN after the show he just sat down on the stage steps and took a bunch of deep breaths before getting up and leaving.

Jess is a Mess (Murder Mistress): Okay i don’t know whether this thread is appropriate or not… so if its not appropriate one of the mods lock it but -
Does anyone know what’s going on with Mikey????? Halfway through the Berlin show, he looks like he’s going to be sick and sits down on an amp (I put the flickr link below) and then last night they were in Brighton and he just disappears? for the last portion of the set?? Some bass tech, i think, came out to replace him.
After everything with Gerard and Bert I don’t want to say it’s drugs but I think my 12 year old sister could snap him in half and he’s definitely paying the airlines extra for those bags under his eyes.
What teh f is goin’ on????

MTV MUSIC REVIEWS: A WENTZ-LESS FALL OUT BOY

When I heard that Fall Out Boy would be missing their bassist (and let's face it, front man) Pete Wentz for their final show dates throughout California, I was worried I was going to watch lead singer Patrick Stump vomit into the audience.
Posting on the band’s MySpace this week, Stump told fans earlier this week, “Pete has had some family matters come up that need attending to and will be gone from our next stops on the tour. He wants everyone to know that he’s very sorry he can’t be there.”
Stump, a quiet type who seems to save his words for singing, was thrust into the position of front man at the show I attended in San Francisco last night. For those of you who are familiar with the Fall Out Boy dynamic, Wentz and Stump form a music powerhouse pair in which Stump seems to do none of the talking. The idea of him talking to a crowd is on par with the idea of the bassist from Guns and Roses suddenly trying to overtake Slash mid-song.
I joined the throng of teenage girls who seemed to share the same worry as me as we all watched Stump take the stage at The Record Exchange Friday night. As Stump took the stage, I couldn’t help but feel like a parent watching their kid in the school play.
However, it seemed our worries were for naught, as Stump, accompanied by Joe Trohman on guitar and Andy Hurley on drums, made it through the setlist with just as much energy and enthusiasm. They even closed with their usual song off their debut album, "Saturday", though without the wild energy that is Pete Wentz screaming and jumping into the audience, watching Stump sing on stage will be like witnessing a Ying without their Yang.
Here’s to hoping that “family matters” isn’t just a nicer way to say where most celebrities disappear to, cough cough, rehab.

Where are your boys tonight? Well, for us - it will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles! Our very own Fall Out Boy is on the nominee list for Best New Artist this coming February. From the back of a venue in Canada, Pete Wentz tells us his Grammy story.
How did you find out you were nominated?
Well, okay, so I got the call at like seven in the morning. Our manager was calling me over and over again and I was totally ignoring her. So Patrick ends up calling the friend I was with at the time. They hand me this phone and, I’m not a morning person, so my brain is like, half on and Patrick’s screaming down the line about the Grammys. I actually hung up on him and he had to call me back and explain that it was us who were Grammy nominated. Then I suddenly woke up a lot faster.
Who did you tell first?
Well, like I said I was actually staying with a friend and I just remember staring at them while I got the news, and we’re looking each other in the eye, and it’s kind of like you’re seeing all of the shock you’re feeling on another person’s face. It must have been very strange hearing half of a conversation and one guy is half asleep and not wearing pants. So I suppose he found out first.
How did you celebrate?
We went out for pancakes. I’m an IHOP guy.
Who do you want to sit next to?
When we were at the VMA’s we got to sit next to the guys from My Chem, which lead to that photo, I still think they should have won, but yeah they're all super calming so maybe I’ll have to bring them along. It will look less weird if you have a bunch of four foot four dudes together, rather then us being next to Beyonce, who I think could step on me.
Who will you thank first if you win?
Huh. Yeah. That’s, that's a really good question, yeah. I’ll have to think on that.
