Chapter Text
The mid-summer heat hung heavy in the air as Yoojin received the bombshell news from his manager, Myeongwoo, about his upcoming gig on "We Got Married."
Yoojin's reaction was pure shock and disbelief. "Wait, seriously? Why didn't anyone at the company clue me in on this? What the heck?" His eyes narrowed suspiciously at Myeongwoo.
And then some realization hit Yoojin like a ton of bricks. "Does my brother even know about this? Would he even approve of me doing a show like this?" Yoojin's confusion was palpable. After all, his brother, Han Yoohyun, was not only the CEO of Haeyon Entertainment but also an overprotective brother.
Myeongwoo shrugged, clearly not having all the answers. "I'm in the dark as much as you are. Suk Simyeong from HR just dropped this bombshell on me before I came to inform you. How he managed to sway your brother's opinion is beyond me," he admitted.
Yoojin let out a resigned sigh, knowing all too well the storm that awaited him when he confronted Yoohyun. "I'll deal with him later. Where's Peace?" he inquired, already reaching for his phone to shoot his brother a message.
"Peace is downstairs. I took him for a walk to keep him from getting too antsy," Myungwoo replied, “do you want me to fetch him?”
"Nah, it's fine. I'll grab him later. Anyway, catch you later. I need to have a chat with Yoohyun," Yoojin declared as he made his exit.
But just as he was about to leave, a nagging thought struck him. "Hey, Myeongwoo, do you have any idea who I'll be paired with on 'We Got Married'?" Yoojin's said with a hint of nervousness.
Myeongwoo paused, mulling over the question. "Not a clue. The producers are keeping that under wraps for now."
Yoojin's brow furrowed in concern. "But don't they usually announce these things ahead of time to the company involved? I hope it's someone I can actually get along with."
Myeongwoo offered a sympathetic shrug. "I wish I could give you more information. Just brace yourself for anything, Yoojin."
Resigned to the uncertainty, Yoojin nodded. "Alright. Thanks for the heads up, Myeongwoo."
As Yoojin made his way out of the room, his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions.
Being cast in "We Got Married" was both exciting and nerve-wracking. He couldn't help but wonder about his future partner on the show. Would they get along? Would they have good chemistry on screen? And most importantly, would his brother approve?
The thought of facing Yoohyun with this news made Yoojin's stomach churn. He knew his brother's protective streak all too well. Yoohyun had always been fiercely protective of him, maybe because he’s the only family they had left.
While Yoojin appreciated his brother's concern, sometimes it felt suffocating, like he was never allowed to make his own decisions. He is the older one for goodness sake.
As he stepped out into the elevator, Yoojin couldn't shake the feeling of apprehension that clung to him like a second skin. He knew he had to confront Yoohyun about the show, but he dreaded the inevitable confrontation.
With a heavy sigh, he pulled out his phone and began composing a message to his brother, steeling himself for whatever backlash might come his way.
