Chapter 1: Blind (Oblivious)

Chapter Text

“Come on Ei!” Mina begged, “She’s super cool!”

“Yeah, okay I’ll go” he agreed

1. POV KIRISHIMA

Kirishima Eijirou was going on a blind date, Mina had insisted on setting him up, and he'd just sort of let her- all of his classmates had dating experience, and he did find it a bit embarrassing he had never had so much of a kiss when he was a third year!

So he'd agreed to go on the date, but after thinking about it for more than 15 minutes, Eijirou came to the crushing realisation that he'd never even kissed anybody, and he had no idea how he was supposed to go about it.

He was telling Bakugou this while they studied, he was supposed to be doing his math homework, but he felt that this took precedence. They were in Eijirou’s room, Bakugou had claimed his desk, so Eijirou had set his own work up on the bed.

"Dude why are you so worked up about this" Bakugou asked as he flicked through his workbook, checking that he had gilled in every answer.

Eijirou had long abandoned his own workbook, and Bakugou had seemingly decided it was too warm, and he was too tired to put any real effort into getting his friend back on track. So Eijirou had implicit permission to continue his nervous ramble.

"It's gonna be so embarrassing man!" Eijirou protested, "like what if she's a super good kisser and she can tell that it's my first kiss!"

“If she judges you for that, then she’s a bitch” Bakugou added, quite unhelpfully, but Eijrou could tell the blonde was working up towards an argument, so he acquiesced.

“Yeah probably” he mumbled

“It’s just a kiss” Bakugou said, finally.

Eijirou returned to his workbook and tried to push down the sick feeling that was making its way up his throat, a feeling he couldn't really find the source of.

2. POV BAKUGOU

Katsuki was avoiding Kirishima, it was Thursday, and two days ago Kirishima had agreed to go on a date with a girl he’d never even met. Katsuki wanted to say that he had no idea why he detested that idea so much, but he couldn’t.

Bakugou Katsuki had been in love with Kirishima Eijirou since he had met the other boy, he hadn’t always known that, but after some serious consideration, and after Kamino, he figured it out. He’d obviously never told anybody this, Kirishima was the only friend that Katsuki was truly sure of, and he wouldn’t ruin that for anything.

So he was avoiding the red-headed boy, who had spent every minute for the last two days talking about how he was excited but also nervous, and maybe didn’t want to go, but really wanted to go- and Katsuki couldn’t really take anymore of it.

Kirishima didn't seem to get the message though.

“Hey man” the redheaded boy called, as he let himself into Katsuki’s dorm after one very short courtesy knock.

Katsuki allowed himself one singular deep breath, “Hey shithead”, he responded, not looking up from the work he was doing on the floor, Kirishima sat across from him.

“How many people have you kissed?” he asked.

Katsuki felt sick.

“A couple”, he responded, refusing to give into his outrageous emotions.

“What’s it like?”  Kirishima asked, sounding almost childish

“I don’t know man, it’s just kissing” Katsuki responded

“Yeah… I don’t know what that means” Kirishima continued.

Katsuki couldn't handle this anymore, and he lurched forward, grabbing Kirishima by the back of his neck, and pulled them together. Lips collided, and Kirishima responded to it, following Katsuki’s lead, reaching his own hand up, Katsuki felt it cup the side of his face, and he pulled himself away, standing.

“See, it’s just a kiss” Katsuki said, the lie heavy on his tongue,  as he headed towards the door, leaving Kirishima left on the floor of his own damn room, refusing to look back.

“Just a kiss” he heard, whispered behind him.
