Summary
Colors. Screaming. The barrel of a gun. Then pain. That’s all Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi could remember — nothing of the life he lived before, nor of the man claiming to be his “partner” sitting right beside him.
But that doesn’t matter. In fact, this was a good thing! A way for him to restart life anew. Those memories were nothing more than burnt debris anyways, useless shit he held onto when it was better left in the dust. After all, any progress is progress.
Or that’s what he always told himself whenever he struggled to sleep.

An au based around canon, adding a before and after to the events of Disco Elysium. Everything is from the perspective of Kim Kitsuragi unless otherwise noted, and written using the game's usual style of writing via skills.
Every chapter alternates in time. The first chapter follows Kim waking up from a coma a few weeks after the mercenary tribunal. The second chapter will start in the ‘20s, depicting Kim’s life before the RCM was ever a factor.
Or perhaps simply before he realized how much of a factor it really was.
