Shuuichi is standing out on a balcony that connects to the suite that he is sharing with someone. It was a warm and a little bit of a breezy summer afternoon. It also has been about a little over 24 hours since Shuichi got married to the love of his life. But the thing is..he did not get married to Yuuki. Shuuichi and Yuuki have not been together for quite some time nor have seen each other. Nor has he also not been in Japan for the past few years, either.
Following the sudden disband of his band, Bad Luck, Shuuichi also ended things with Yuuki following the disbandment, too. Towards the end of their relationship, Yuuki began to have a heavy addiction to pills and alcohol. Yuuki also became violent and abusive (physically and mentally) towards Shuuichi to the point where it was causing Shuuichi to start doubting himself as a partner and who he was as a person.
What exactly caused the break-up between the two of them was not just the addictions that Yuuki was going through but finding out that Yuuki also had cheated on Shuuichi with several people (not just men) behind his back. It happened more than once as well. Yuuki was going to clubs and drug parties to feed his addictions as well as cheat on Shuuichi with whoever he wanted to do so. Even if Yuuki was able to stop his addictions and get clean, there was no way that Shuuchi could trust him after all of the cheating that he has done and the hurt that he has caused. He has no regrets about what he had to do to save his sanity but..he just wished that it did not have to happen at all.
Nor was it something that Shuuichi was making a quick decision about, too. They were together for quite a few years before everything had to come to an end. Also, Shuuichi felt like it was time to move on from Bad Luck onto something else. That decision was also not taken lightly either but it was also mutual for everyone involved after having a long discussion about it. After the group disbanded and his romantic relationship was officially over (for good), Shuuichi packed what he had/could and moved all the way to the United States. He just wanted to make a fresh start in his life.
Doing this has actually helped him become better for his physical and mental health. Just because Shuuichi does not regret the breakup, it does not mean there were things that happened to him after that he has regretted along the way. Shuuichi ended up developing an eating disorder during the relationship with Yuuki and had to enter treatment at a facility in the town he moved to so he could get help for it and become healthy again. But..all of that was not too bad, to say the least.
During his stay in the facility, he met another man by the name of Hugo Cruz. Hugo was also going through treatment for an eating disorder of his own because of a breakup that he went through when he also broke things off with his previous partner as well. Both Shuuichi and Hugo had partners who abused them and treated them like trash. Like Yuuki had an addiction, Hugo’s ex-boyfriend did not. He was just a very narcissistic person. It did not take long for the two of them to develop a friendship and strong bond between the two men.
Yet the more they got to know one another outside of the facility after being discharged, they were hanging out together quite a lot.
It also was the start of them beginning to have romantic feelings for each other not too long after. After they confessed to one another, Shuuichi and Hugo dated for almost a year and half before Hugo proposed to him. Within eight months after the proposal, they were officially married. As of now, the lovers were on their honeymoon at an expensive resort in Spain, which is the country where Hugo's family originally comes from.
Shuuichi took a deep breath and exhaled as he looked out at the sea on a beach that was below and across from the resort building. He was also wearing an open, silk robe over his body and a cami top and a pair of short shorts underneath it. Hugo was watching him with a smile on his face. He loves Shuuichi with all of his heart.
Hugo also will do anything to make sure he knows that he is truly loved and always going to be protected. Being with one another has made them realize that they can truly be loved by someone who would not hurt them or treat them so terribly. Hugo suddenly got an idea.
“I better go join him out there. Looks like he could use some company.”
Hugo quietly walked over and stood at the opening of the gigantic door that leads to the balcony then stopped before stepping another foot outside.
“Mi amor?”
Shuuichi heard him and quickly turned his head to look at him. Hugo still had a smile on his face as they looked at one another.
“Is it okay if I join you out here..if that is okay with you?”
Shuuichi gave him a smile.
“Of course you can, dear. You are always welcome to join me anytime you would like to.”
Hugo continued walking onto the balcony and all the way until he was close and standing to the side of his lover. Shuuichi turned his head and looked out at the beach again.
“It is so lovely out here.”
“It truly is. But..”
Hugo still had both of his eyes on Shuuichi.
“To me, my love, you are truly the most gorgeous thing that I have ever laid my eyes on out here.”
Shuuichi suddenly blushed lightly on his cheeks as he heard Hugo compliment him. He was not used to getting such compliments like that from anyone, especially his partner. Even if they are married now, he still had to get used to all of this.
“You know..I am not sure if I am ever going to be able to get used to you saying things like that to me. I mean, I love hearing them and I do not mind it but yet..I am just still not used to it. Not sure if I ever will be but it does make me happy to hear it. Thank you”
Hugo stood a little closer towards him and placed one of hands onto one of Shuuichi’s shoulders.
“You are very welcome and you make me very happy, too. I will say it to you for the rest of your life because it is the truth. You are so stunning and wonderful. I love you with all of my heart.”
Shuuichi turned his head to look at Hugo again, now smiling again, too.
“I love you with all of my heart, too, babe. Still, I am going to need to get used to this because I never thought I would find anyone who feels the way about me as much as you do.”
“The feelings are quite mutual, sweetheart. You mean the world to me. Always will.”
Shuuchi suddenly turned forward and placed himself against the front of Hugo’s body, causing Hugo to move his hand off of his shoulder. Hugo then wrapped both of his arms around to keep him in place while he placed his head against Hugo’s muscular chest.
“I am so glad that I was able to meet you when we were in the facility together. It has truly changed my life..for the better. I wish I never developed the eating disorder but sometimes, things happen and it can take control of us.”
“Me too, Shuuchi. My life has also become better because of you as well. It really has. And I understand and agree with you.”
While he still has some memories of what Yuuki did to him, being with Hugo has changed his perspective on a lot of things since they have been together. Not just when it comes to love but life, too. Hugo has become a huge part of Shuuichi’s life and he does not want to live one without him in it.
“I can hear your heart beating.”
“It is because you are the one keeping it alive.”
Shuuichi could not help but still have a huge smile on his face as he kept his eyes on Hugo.
“Gosh. I love this man so much. I have no regrets in the choices that I have made because they helped me find my soulmate.”
Hugo gave him a kiss on the top of his head as they stood there, embracing one another. Shuuichi also had a thought pop into his mind.
“Is there one thing in your life that you wish you could change?”
“Yes, I do.”
“And that would be?”
Hugo gave him a smile.
“I wish that I could have met you much sooner.”
Shuuichi felt all mushy and happy.
“I wish that I had met you sooner as well..instead of going through a relationship where I basically ended up not mattering at all. And you are my world, too, Hugo.”
At first, his relationship with Yuuki was not really that bad at all and there were some parts of the relationship where it was actually going great for the two of them. But in the end, they were not meant to be and it got too dangerous for Shuuichi to be able to handle. Now, his relationship he had with Yuuki will be no more than just a distant memory to him now.
And it was for the best for it to remain as so. Hugo knows that feeling all too himself, too. His relationship before getting together with Shuuichi was quite toxic, abusive and also dangerous as well. Not on Hugo’s part, though. He always was trying to maintain a healthy relationship with his ex-partner but after a while, it was not worth it to do so.
But now that he has a much better partner, neither of them have to worry about those terrible things anymore.
“Well, you will always matter to me, love. Always you will.”
“Same here with you, too, Hugo. Same here.”
Suddenly, Shuuichi let out a chuckle. Hugo suddenly got curious.
“Thinking about something funny, love?”
“Yeah, I am thinking about something actually.”
“What are you thinking about?”
“Our first date we ever had was when we first got together romantically. I still think about it a lot. It felt so nice just to be able to be myself around you and have fun. It also made me truly realize how much in love with you I truly am.”
Shuuichi looked up at him.
“It still does.”
Hugo smiled again.
“And I never want you to change, babe. I love you the way you are. Inside and out.”
“I never want you to change either because I feel the same exact way about you, too.”
Hugo leaned his head forward and gave Shuuichi a sudden kiss on the lips for a few seconds before pulling away to look at him again. They suddenly turned their heads to the side to look at the beach while having each other in their arms. Hugo suddenly spoke up.
“Wanna go down and spend some time on the beach tomorrow?”
Shuuichi was up for that.
“I would love to do that with you.”
“Just as a warning..I bought some new swimwear and brought a pair of speedos with me. I did not realize they were actually speedos until we unpacked our luggage yesterday after we got here. I hope that is okay..”
The thought of Hugo in a pair of speedos was driving him..in a good way, of course.
“That is very okay with me nor does it bother me at all you brought those with you. Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Not to mention..I am curious to see what you look like in them, too. Not going to lie.”
Hugo agreed and he was curious about that himself as well.
“To be honest, I have never worn a pair of them before but..I am curious to give them a try myself. Yet..I want to only do this in front of you and no one else.”
“Do you have another pair of swim trunks if you do not feel like you want to wear the speedos, though?”
Hugo let out a sigh as she shook his head a couple of times.
“Sadly..I do not have any others but those ones I brought with me. I wish I had brought another pair but it did not cross my mind at the time when I was packing to grab another pair and put them in my suitcase.”
Shuuichi understood.
“That is okay. I will make sure that no one makes you feel weird about it or anything. And if I do end up making you feel that way, I do apologize.”
“It is fine, hun. Plus, the only person I want to be pervy when it comes to me is you.”
“You are the only one I want to feel that way about me, too.”
It took time for Shuuichi to be able to open up sexually and when it comes to sex with help along the way from Hugo, he feels comfortable to be that way again.
“I mean..I am not exactly the type to be a pervert, even with my own partner but..I appreciate you letting me know that it is okay if it happens.”
“I am truly okay with it, Hugo. It is not like you think of me as an object. You truly think of me as an actual human being with feelings and such. When it comes to you, having naughty thoughts about me is fine as long as you are the one that is having them. With anyone else thinking of me that way, though..I am not sure if I would be okay with that.”
“Did you have to deal with things like that when you were in your band?”
“Sometimes but it was not towards me. It was more towards my band-mate, Hiroshi, who dealt with a lot of the sexual harassment when it came to the band. Still, I felt so bad for him because I noticed that he was not comfortable with it but no matter how many times I could speak out about it or if he tried..there was not much that could be done about it.”
Hugo felt so bad for his husband.
“Sorry that happened to him. No one deserved to be treated like that. No matter if they are fans that are doing it or not.”
“It is okay. He is doing much better now but when it comes to that for the most part, I have seen him become nervous and panic. He has made it firm that he is not comfortable with it to his fans. I just hated seeing either of them being harassed by people who were not so nice or just odd..in a bad way. Even Suguru had to deal with it as well. I also dealt with it but..it was more towards it being homophobic and stuff, not just things of a sexual nature.”
“I wish people would realize that people who are a part of the LGBT+ community are not monsters or are into children. We are human beings. We just happen to like another person who is the same gender as us. Even if they are into more than one gender, there is nothing wrong with us or what we do.”
Shuuichi totally understood where Hugo was coming from and felt the same way as he does about it.
“I fully agree with you on that. Also, we do not like to be harassed, regardless if it is sexual or not. It is just annoying and just gives me an uneasy, icky feeling.”
“Nor should we be killed just because of who we are. Being gay does not make us less human than other people around us who are not gay or anything.”
Shuuichi also agreed with that, too.
“That too. No one should be killed for being who they are, even if they are not LGBT+. Being killed for any reason unless it is self defense is just horrible.”
“Very true. Though, I think actual pedophiles and child abusers..or just abusers in general do not deserve to have a chance to live.”
“Oh, same here! Besides that, though.”
“I fully agree with you.”
Both of them decided to change the subject before either of them started to become depressed and have the mood ruined.
“So..what would you like for dinner?”
“I am up for anything to be honest. I am also going to let you pick it out what we have for dinner tonight.”
“I noticed a place that was not far from here that I would like to check out if that is okay with you. I am not exactly sure what it is but it is a place that you can eat at. I looked it up and it caught my curiosity.”
“Sure! We can go there. I want to check it out as well.”
“We will go there then.”
“Yay!”
Hugo chuckled sweetly. The couple spent a little more time outside on the balcony before deciding to head back inside of the suite and spend a little more time in the room before heading out to go get dinner together for the night. Shuuichi is very happy with being with Hugo and also hopes that they will be able to spend as many years as they possibly can together. Yuuki is now nothing but a thing from the past. And with that, he can look forward to his new future with someone who truly cares and loves him.
