“Come one Moony, one sip won’t hurt. You’ve got to learn to let lose, and what better place than a pub far away from the masses. No one we know will show up here and see your inability to hold your drink.”
Remus batted Sirius’ hand away, but did pick up his drink and emptied it in one big swig.
“If this is your way of encouraging me to get drunk enough to ask someone out, than it is not working.”
It had been the third night in a row, that Sirius had dragged Remus out of his apartment to go clubbing. They had finished Hogwarts merely a month ago and Remus really did not see the reason for Sirius to be stressing this much about his bachelor status. Many people did not end up with their Hogwarts sweetheart, James and Lily were the excepting to the rule.
“Isn’t it? You did drink your beer and you’re not looking at the most handsomest dude in room, me. Care to share with the room who caught your eye.”
It wasn’t as much a whom, as a what that had caught Remus eye.
Long legs that seemed far longer than was logically possible, that were encompassed with jeans that leaved nothing to the imagination, and not in the way Sirius’ wore his.
“Behind you, longer dark hair, by the bar.”
Sirius began to turn around, but Remus quickly pulled him back before his friend could give them away. It didn’t stop his friend from almost overbalancing in his chair, instead Remus waved the waiter over to come to their table.
“Please another beer for the two of us and another of what he.” Here he waved to the tall, dark and handsome stranger. “was drinking on my tab.”
The waiter nodded as he identified Remus’ stranger, while Sirius was looking at him with a shit eating grin.
“Two beer and one scotch, coming your way sir.”
Remus watched as the waiter first poured a glass of scotch for the man at the bar, who seemed to ask who got it for him. He did not turn around fully, denying Remus a first good look at his face, but did turn enough for him to glance at Remus’ table.
The first move was made.
Sirius watched Remus as Remus watched the stranger slam back his glass of scotch before slowly standing up from the bar stool. The fabric rippling with his movement and revealing the, honestly, obscene rip in the fabric on his right thigh.
All the blood rushed south and Remus licked his lips as he watched the man, oh so slowly, move, in much the same way his darker counterpart watched his pray before striking them down.
The rip that had initially only looked obscene, was in fact obscene. There was very little fabric left to begin with, and the only way Remus could not see the man’s boxers was because he must be going commando.
And it was the very skin revealed by that rip that captured Remus’ gaze and was not letting go, even as the man stalked closer to their table. Sirius’ increasingly alarmed jabs at his side really couldn’t be that important.
“Lupin, Black, care to explain why I received a glass of scotch from your table?”
Remus’ wonderful dream came crashing down at the same time as Sirius’ chair finally lost the fight against gravity. And like any crash back to earth this one was just as brutal.
“Uhm—“
“He thought you looked hot in those pants and tried to loosen them for you to have a little private lesson together. Can’t really blame him, as long as you don’t look up at least.”
Sirius was too drunk to notice the twin glares sent his way, Remus on the other hand was not.
“I’m really sorry Severus. I didn’t recognise you, otherwise I would have never done that.”
“Did I say it was unwelcome?”
Remus did not need anymore encouragement than that, and jumped up from his chair taking Sirius with him in his haste.
“Don’t wait for me Padfoot, see you tomorrow.”
He jumped over the figure of Sirius laying on the floor, running after Severus who had already left the pub. The tantalising flash of skin all that he could see.
