Summary
Sirius Black reflects on his 65th birthday, Nov.3, 2024, and his family. He was with Remus at Hogwarts and until he went to Azkaban. While he was away, Remus and Sirius' little cousin fell into a relationship together. Then Tonks died at the Battle of Hogwarts, May 2, 1998, leaving behind her newborn. After Remus grieved, the quarter-century since then has given Sirius time and a family he never expected.

Summary
AU. Harry accidentally Apparates to an empty Grimmauld Place when he’s nine instead of to the top of the school roof when he escapes Dudley’s gang. The house is empty except for portraits and sometimes a speaking wooden face, and Harry has to kill his own food, and there’s something nasty in the cellars, and some of the portraits are mad. But this is still a vast improvement over the Dursleys.
