Work Text:
Knock, knock, knock.
Izuku curls into a ball, trying his best to make himself smaller, slumping against the table, his chin keeling, hidden behind the uniform's collar. Arms going up to wrap around his head, covering up the unruly green hair, using the person in front of him as a shield.
Yet when the door opens, he immediately locks eyes with fury red.
"May I fucking excuse Izuku Midoriya?" Through gritted teeth, but it barely conceals the heavy threat and danger behind them.
"Language. Midoriya, someone is calling you. Out."
He gets up, stiff as a board. One step, two steps—slow as ever. He was just taking his time, surely not to stall. Counting his steps—
A hand tight around his wrist. He gets pulled out carelessly towards the hall, a small squeal slipping out of his lips. And when the door closes behind him, he shuts his eye, his shoulders hunching forward with his head hanging. Back against the wall.
He feels him close, lingering. Gaze sharp, it breaks him neuron by neuron. Fingers fidgeting stiffly and throat block dry as he just feels his heavy presence. A foot tapping irritably.
"Izuku."
He can't look at him. Ashamed. Not now.
"Izuku, look at me."
A finger tips his chin up, and he gets a kiss right in the corner of his eye. Delicate. Another kiss. And another. Another until he relaxes, until it seeps in and overflows his heart.
Peering his eyes open, he doesn't meet the deep hell-like angry crimson eyes like he expected. It was the opposite. Izuku's confused. He can't read them.
He hangs his head again. A sigh, defeatingly leaving his lips. Back sliding against the wall just as his knees slightly give up, trembling. "I know you're mad, but you didn't need to pull me out of class, Kacchan. I woke up early to leave you a voicemail. Did you eve—"
A kiss.
"I just kissed you, and you think I'm still mad?—" Izuku throws him a look, his brows furrowing down but his lips pouting up like a natural instinct. "Don't answer that."
"Why are you here?" Voice low, guilty, ashamed, shrinking.
Katsuki lets out a breath of relief, shoulders relaxing, gaze softening as he tries to find his words. "I'm still mad at you." So calm, as if it was like a perfect reassurance.
Izuku runs past him, a hand already by the knob, but again he gets pulled and shoved rightfully where he belonged. Which was against Katsuki. Right between his arms, where they wrapped around his shoulder, one cradled his head. Caressing gently, soothing.
"Let me fucking continue." To which he earns a nod. "I'm still mad. I did listen to your voicemail, and it's all bullshit."
Silence. But his heart falls down heavy, like an anvil.
"But Izuku," Another breath, Katsuki nuzzling on his neck. Lips so close to his ears, like a kiss. "I miss you. I really fucking miss you. I can't focus."
Red eyes lifted to meet his, sincerity overflowing in them. Izuku misses him too. It was just hard to find time to talk; arguments and tension were building up. Longing for apologies. It was killing both of them.
"...Let me have this, please." Pressing himself closer and closer to Izuku. Pushing in tight, wanting to feel everything that he missed. His warmth, his flushed body. Him.
Izuku's guilt keeps him from responding. Like chains lashing around him. He was in the wrong; he knew that. He'll take what Katsuki gives, but that was the line.
Seconds pass, Katsuki slumping in more and more, anchoring Izuku down with his weight. Arms tangled around him, song being hummed, breath stabilizing.
Just two of them in the cold, empty hallway.
Izuku takes him in subconsciously, sniffing in so lightly at the hint of caramel and natural musk. Heavy with sweetness.
"Kacchan." Palm crawled up to tap his arm, prodding. "I really need to get back."
"Don't want your Kacchan anymore?" Toned with cheeks.
"What if my teacher comes out and sees us like this? I really need to get back—"
"One more minute."
"Kacchan, don't you have classes?"
"I'll skip them."
"Kacchan!" Scolding. "You can't do that. You're not easy to miss, they'll know you're skipping. Wouldn't it be weird when the loud, abrasive student suddenly goes missing for a long time? And, and, did you not read the handbook? You can get—" He raised a forefinger, a natural habit he slips out whenever hes deep into explaining something.
Mumbles and rumbles that Katsuki takes in. Missing his voice. Missing the comfort of his words. How much life they had in them.
"That's the bunny I know." Pointingly teasing. It tugs a corner of his lip, forming into a smirk.
"And according to— ... Sorry. But, like I was saying, I really need to go. You too. Aizawa always calls me for this. I see your teachers more than I see mine! I'm a support course student, Kacchan!"
"One more minute." Wrapped arms tightening. "One more minute." His weight gets heavier as he just carelessly relaxes on Izuku. "Just one more minute."
A minute turned into a visit to the faculty.
