Work Text:
Sideswipe was driving around the city and didn't have a care in the world for those poor speed limit signs, even though he was working with the Police department now. No matter how fast or how strong the city cops were, no one has ever succeeded in arresting him. Local cops knew him by name and sight, it was quite a shock that their old lieutenant agreed to him joining the force...
He was starting to get bored with all those "slow-motion" movements around him -as he liked to call the "legal speed limits" with that phrase- suddenly an idea popped in his head, why not go and tease a certain blue and white cop car? He always enjoyed it when she reacted to all kinds of his actions, although cops shouldn't show much reactions to the surrounding events. The smile, the side eye, the occasional eye roll and if it was his lucky day, she might even giggle. With that thought he made his way towards her house, along the way he couldn't stop "fangirling" over his mischievous little ideas.
He stepped behind the door and knocked, he didn't need to knock or even ask to get in as he could take out all kinds of security systems with ease like he always did when he casually broke into her house whenever he pleased, but he wanted to be polite this time. The door opened, he met her and couldn't stop himself not to laugh at her scruffy appearance. It wasn't a shock to see her like that anymore, he got used to her all-nighter look. Though, this time she looked... more scruffy than ever, "Gosh! What happened to you? It looks like you've been through an explosion." With that said he started laughing, but her reaction was different. This time she looked slightly irritated or worried, which was also so unlike her! He collected himself, gave her a look and asked whether she was okay or not. "I'm okay, all right. Just need some time to myself... if that's fine with you?" She said, but that wasn't really a question, just some act of manners. He nodded and stepped further, he immediately knew she wasn't in the mood to get messed with, so he had no choice but to respect that or else he'd have gotten his butt handed to him...
He stayed behind the closed door for a while, he didn't know if he had to talk to her or not. Despite the loud jokes and all the times he said how good he is with women, he couldn't handle his own friend. He knew that when she was sad, it was best he'd stay with her and make jokes, but this time her expression was different, God he could've sworn he saw fear or disgust in her eyes as soon as they dropped on him. That thought was bugging him, so he went to visit some of his old friends who just opened a new bar a few blocks away from Iacon's main hospital.
He sat on an empty chair in the saloon, "Blurr's Thyme" was the saloon's name with fancy fonts. He was digging into a bag of chips he found laying somewhere totally hygienic. Jazz and his friends were the bards while Blurr was the bartender serving the liquor and goods.
Jazz walked up to Sideswipe and hit him hard on the shoulders, "Wassup, man? Been sittin' here for a while without letting hell loose now? Nah, this ain't you!" Jazz said while crushing his poor shoulder. "Hey, Jazz. I'm fine, just fine." Sideswipe said in defense, struggling to worm out of the strong grasp on his shoulder. "Alright, now there's somethin' really wrong. I can smell it, now, spit it!" Jazz said in a friendly aggressive tone not letting go of his shoulder. "Dude! just, let go of my shoulder!" With that, Jazz removed his hand and Blurr joined them. "What's the fuss about?" Blurr said trying to get the bag of chips from Sideswipe. "Man's bitter today, dunno what's wrong." Jazz said shrugging. "There's nothing wrong, I'm not even upset. I'm just thinking, bro." Sideswipe said and both Blurr and Jazz gave him a look as he said something out of ordinary. "What?" He noticed their looks, "Can't I just think in peace because I feel like it?" He was annoyed by the staring contest. "Our apologies! We honestly didn't know you could think!" Blurr said with all the ironies and offensive tone he could put in such small statement. They fell in silence for a few seconds, "So... how was your day, man?" Jazz said trying to ease the sudden change of mood. "Strongarm doesn't want to see me." Was all he said and that made Jazz raise an non-existing eyebrow. "That's it?!" Blurr said, "Yeah, that's it." Blurr puffed and laughed at what he said while Sideswipe and Jazz looked at him choking himself with the same expression. "Dude... sorry, man, but that was gold...! I mean, the master rizzler himself, Jazz, is having trouble with his boyfriend!" Jazz got alarmed by hearing about his boyfriend tried to gesture Blurr to shut up with his eyebrows... but sadly, he didn't have any eyebrows. "AND THAT'S PROWL!" Blurr's voice echoed through the almost empty saloon, drawing all the remaining attention to that same spotlight. "... say it louder, man... I don't think everybody heard you." Jazz said, Sideswipe in silence, and Blurr just realized what he did but it was too late to fix his masterpiece...
They all sat in awkward silence, with a piece of clothe covering Blurr's mouth. "I never said she was anything more than a best friend to me. I mean if she was, I wouldn't complain, but what happened with Prowl? Weren't they together?" Sideswipe said looking down, didn't know whether he had the rights to kick Prowl in the forbidden spot or not. "Uh... not officially, man." Jazz answered, calmer. "Then why was she looking at me like that? What happened?" Sideswipe said judging every sweat dropping down their faces. "Oops, man..." Jazz said, knowing Prowl, he must have said something offensive. He didn't express that thought aloud, he kept it to himself.
