Chapter Text
“So uhhh, unusual question perhaps considering that families who walked into this park probably don’t think too much about it, which I do think a lot, but why is this exactly called Indigo Park? Seems kind of, vague for its vibe or aesthetic to me, as someone who never really looked at the details regarding origins. It’s like calling your first town in a manage video game like, “your first name, town” or something.", Ed mumbles around as he paces in a dirty hallway
“Well, you are correct! In fact, you nailed that like a bullseye.”, the Raccoon winked
“Seriously? Sure, it's obvious but there has to be more too it... Right?”, Ed became baffled for a bit
“I mean, not really, just the founders name-name, Isaac Indigo, who-"
“No no no, I-I just know the general idea, I just wanted some clarification, and you gave it to me. Thanks Rambley.”, the human shyly smiles, keeping his feelings in tact
“Oh! You betcha!”, Rambley lighting up a bright smile as he dissipated from the screen
...........
“I seriously thought there was more to it, I wouldn’t even name a hypothetical variant of mine like that. No inner meaning, no general idea upon hearing the name, just…. Last name and park? Really? That's like saying Pete Parking Lot.
Ed closes his eyes in disappointment as he remiances to all of that mentally draining time on just wondering about the meaning of something like the Parks name of all things, for years
All down the drain, as he sighs heavily
Indigo Park..... So curious over a name for nothing.”
"Who thought about making a whole animation of a character spazzing out from a recording? Just to show off their new technology to the public? Sounds more cyborg-ish to me than a simple furry critter mascot."
"I was spazzing out?", Rambley tilts his head in confusion
"Uh, no, nevermind.", Ed shakes his head slightly
"Hard to believe that there was all that demand for a regular Rambley plush we just blasted with gold spray paint.", Rambley ponders
"Wait, paint? They put literal paint on it?! Not even unique material? I swore it felt different from the usual normal variants...."
"You know, saving costs at the bare minimum sometimes gives you a lot more than you bargin for.~
Rambley sways side to side with his arms behind him, warming smile and eyes closed before puts his index finger around his chin
Plus, that feeling you had might have been the paint drying and hardening."
"Maybe keeping that rare Rock 'Em Rock toy I bought after 6 packs in a row of those things just because they reflected sunlight during my time at a mall wasn't a great idea in terms of novelty....", Ed cringes to himself
"I was REALLY looking forward to that. What a useless recording, DELETED.", he pouts
"Can really tell they are almost adult teenagers just by the idea of going to Vegas of all places......
Who even does that? Just to go to a huge scam?"
"Yeah, I know, RIGHT?", the Raccoon eyerolls positively
"Wait, you know of Vegas?"
"No, not really, I just hate the word.", he says as if it didn't mean anything to him and he's just as joyful as ever
"Oh! That is funny, in an endearing way, not an insulting way.", Ed makes sure not to belittle him
"Nothing beats the taste of fresh Rambleberry Juice drunk from directly out of my lifeless head!"
"You can actually taste stuff? Even juice?", Ed asked, more so challenging the Rambleys claim rather than being legit curious at this point
"Who says I can taste?", he says instead, making a smug smile directly at Ed's soul and comprehension
Created a bit of an awkward pause that seem to last for 5 minutes when it was really 10 seconds in real time
"But you sai-"
"Nnnnnope, not your business! Hehe~"
Ed gets in a bit of a complete shock at the sudden sass he has to someone like him, wandering around an abandoned mascot themed park of all places, all alone with a wide friendly shaped raccoon
The stuff already writes itself
"Okay then.", was all Ed could say from that
