Summary
Arthur grunted, trying to stand up. Kayne quickly pushed him back down with more laughter, and another jolt of pain. He could feel his body’s movement slowing down, despite his best efforts.
“You’re being put in time out, Artie.” Kayne mocked the voice of an upset mother. “You know fighting against me won’t work.”
“What the hell do you want?” Arthur hissed. He could practically hear Kayne’s grin.
“Me?” Kayne laughed. “This isn’t about me. How do you feel, Arthur?”
Arthur paused. The question confused him, pausing all his senses for a moment. The answer was simple, but he didn’t say it to Kayne.
“That’s not an answer.”
