Summary
Spoilers for Darkest Hour in the fic and in this summary.
A little introspective ficlet about the bit in Darkest Hour where Megatron laughs after the Omega Lock is destroyed. The other Decepticons react with horror -- even Knockout's quip might be seen as an attempt to minimize the pain through sarcasm. But Megatron laughing is much less easy to explain. I've seen everything from "he never planned to save Cybertron" to "he was gloating because the 'Bots don't know about the siege tower." I'm not satisfied with any explanation I've heard, or with the lack of context in canon. So here you go.
