Work Text:
It was Mauri Mourunen's second winter with Morso and Aasi.
He could still remember when he first moved in with them the previous winter and all the trouble he gave them.
He was endlessly grateful for their patience and second (and third and fourth) chances while he got his act together.
"It seems we're snowed in for the night" Morso commented, gesturing to the front door. He'd opened it, though you wouldn't know unless you were actually looking at it, as any and all natural light from outside was completely blocked off by a wall of snow.
Aasi seemed nervous about this predicament, but Mauri quickly leaped into action, creating a fire in the fireplace to provide them all with extra warmth and going to find any berries around the house he could use to make drinks for them.
Morso watched the feline proudly. He'd come so far in only a year.
Eventually, drinks were made, and the three animals curled up together on the couch, watching whatever programming was still coming through on the television despite the weather.
Tomorrow, they would need to spend lots of time and energy shoveling snow but, in the meantime, they could just enjoy one another's company.
