▪︎Paper Airplane▪︎
“Finally…that's the last stack of reports…” Shang Qinghua stretched himself and fell on his back to the floor.
He had been working the whole day at the desk for the Sect's procurement reports. He rolled to his side and took a glimpse to the little pile of the papers used for the drafts.
“What a waste. Only if we have computers here…..arhh…these will also count into Anding’s expenses…” He murmured to himself.
He sat up from the floor and cleaned up the waste papers.
When Mobei-Jun arrived at Shang Qinghau's chamber at Anding-Peak through a portal, he couldn't see his human. Shang Qinghau told him that he would finish his Sect's duties by sunset but where is he now?
It's a pleasant sunny day in the early summer. Shang Qinghau's opened all the windows for the breeze to blow in. Something flew through the window and entered the room. Mobei-Jun lifted his hand with the palm up and that thing landed perfectly on it.
It's a papercraft but Mobei-Jun didn't know what it's crafted into. However, he could recognize the handwriting on the paper. He walked out the cottage of the Anding-Peak Lord and found there were more of that papercraft flying in the sky. Through the flying directions, he located the man he was searching for.
“What are you doing up here?” Mobei-Jun portalled himself to the top of Anding Peak. A young looking man was standing in front of a cliff with a pile of papercraft placed next to him.
“Oh, you came. Mobei.” Shang Qinghau turned around with a beaming face. “I worked hard today and finished a bit early. So, I thought I could treat myself with some fun.” He gestured to the papercraft.
“I never saw this cultivation trick before.” Mobei-Jun stepped forward and stood next to his human. He looked down from the peak where the papercrafts were flying.
“Because they are not cultivated.” Shang Qinghua picked up one papercraft with a childish grin. Then, he held it with his finger tips. With a push, he flew it into the air. “No qi is required. You just need to push them like this.”
“These are called paper airplanes. It's a kid game we played in my hometown. We used to have contests to see who could fly the longest distance. However, paper is not commonly affordable here, I don't think people will afford it for a silly kid game. But luckily, I have a lot of waste papers from my work.”
Shang Qinghau realized he started muttering again. So, he made a little giggle and looked up to his King.
“Do you want a try?”
Mobei-Jun didn't give any response but Shang Qinghau knew that's a ‘yes’ from his King.
Mobei-Jun imitated Shang Qinghau's move. However, he pushed it too hard, like throwing a deadly dagger. The paper airplane only flew for two meters at most and dropped.
“Hahahah…uhm, sorry…” Shang Qinghau snickered but ceased it immediately when he saw his King’s a bit annoyed. “Let me show you.”
Shang Qinghau grabbed another paper airplane and picked Mobei-Jun hand up with another hand. He guided the Demon Lord's hand with his own.
“You shouldn't push hard. Tipped your fingers like this. And then, when you push, lift it a little bit…with a right angle. Ok, that's perfect!!”
Actually, Mobei-Jun was listening but not learning at all. He's too occupied with being amused by the contenting smile of his human.
This time, the paper airplane successfully took off and flew into the air.
“It's not bad.” Mobei-Jun slightly turned up the corner of his mouth.
“Actually, there’s a lot of different ways to fold the paper into an paper airplane which they can fly faster and farther. I can show you later!!” Shang Qinghau’s entire face beamed with happiness.
“Next time.” Mobei-Jun said. “It's time to go home.”
“Oh, yes. It's going to be dinner time soon.” Shang Qinghau looked at the sky. It had already turned yellowish red from the sunset.
“Then, next time it's.” Shang Qinghau looked pleased with this arrangement.
He turned to face Mobei-Jun while the Demon Lord opened his arms. Shang Qinghau jumped and clinged onto his embrace.
Mobei-Jun opened a portal and took them back home to the Northern Palace.
/end.
