Summary
Before securing the honor of carrying their father's guns, prospective gunslingers must engage in ritual combat with their own instructor to prove that they remember the face of their fathers.
Daniel Bryne has forgotten the face of his father, and is thus cast out into the world without those guns. Now he nurtures a meager existence in the northeasterly town of Deepwood, clinging to what little honor he has left.
