Work Text:

Wuwa fell to their knees, panting. Their tongue lolled from their mouth as they desperately tried to keep cool, though it seemed like an impossible task.

“Where is Genshin when you need them?” They sighed, tears forming in the corners of their eyes.

Wuwa was lagging uncontrollably, struggling to stay conscious. If their condition got any worse, they felt as though they might crash.

They looked down, watching their hands tremble. They felt so pathetic.

Suddenly, they heard the sound of footsteps. A pair of shoes made their way into Wuwa’s view as they kept their head low, and they felt a firm hand on their shoulder.

“Woah there, sweetheart,” a voice boomed and sent Wuwa’s mind awry.

Within seconds, they felt themself clearing up. Their body cooled in waves out from where the hand held them firmly, and they blinked the tears out of their eyes.

Once Wuwa had managed to catch their breath, they looked up to see who the hand belonged to.

“You’re not Genshin,” Wuwa mumbled.

“That’s right, I’m not.”

“But you look related.” Wuwa thought for a moment, grabbing the hand extended to them and standing up. “Then you must be… Honkai: Star Rail?”

Star Rail’s expression grew into a wide grin. “So my reputation precedes me. You know Genshin?”

“Yeah,” Wuwa looked down shyly. “They helped me out recently, much like you did.”

Star Rail chuckled. “I should’ve known you were the one. Genshin and I… Well, we have a history of encountering the same little cuties.”

Wuwa felt a blush tingle in their cheeks. “So you have the same powers as Genshin?”

“So you noticed, huh? Members of the Hoyoverse family all have this power. The power of cache clear… it’s a potent thing. Not to be messed with. In the wrong hands, it could cause disaster. That’s why it’s contained within our bloodline.”

“I see.” Wuwa’s eyes twinkled. The entire scenario felt like something out of a fantasy romance. “So you only use it to help people?”

“That’s right,” Star Rail smirked. “My older sibling Genshin and I use our powers for the benefit of our kind. The curse you have is what our ancestors spent their entire lives trying to cure. They used the power of the cache clear to relieve themselves of their own curses, and now that power courses through us to this day.”

Wuwa gasped. “That’s really noble. Thank you for helping me.”

The Hoyoverse bloodline’s story was so very fascinating to Wuwa. They didn’t know all of its long and detailed history, but everyone not living under a rock knew that there was something special about the Hoyoverse family. They were practically royalty, or at the very least nobility. To be saved by two Hoyo siblings in such a short span of time made them feel extremely lucky.

Star Rail ruffled Wuwa’s hair. “You’re very welcome. I don’t know what Genshin told you, but if you’re ever in need, come to me first, okay?” They winked. “I know I’m the younger one between us, but I have a lot to offer. Just keep that in mind.”

Wuwa nodded. “Of course. I don’t doubt your powers are just as extraordinary as Genshin’s. I feel better already.”

Star Rail smiled and planted a kiss on Wuwa’s forehead. “Good. A promising new face to the scene is a very special thing. You’d do well to work alongside us.” They moved to whisper in Wuwa’s ear. “Alongside me.”

Wuwa’s face heated up, but their body froze. They didn’t know how to react. No one had ever given them so much attention. “Right. I will.” Their voice trembled slightly but they tried their best to keep it at bay.

“I’ll be seeing you then?” Star Rail tilted their head to the side.

“Next time I need your help, I’ll be calling your name.”

Star Rail smirked. “Good boy.”
