   “I do have one requirement,” Lucy says, suddenly closed off and cagey as she was at the start of their conversation.

   The pit of Lockwood’s stomach sinks towards the floor. “Yes?” he asks politely, firmly holding back any quiver of uncertainty in his voice.

   “No trying to… to seduce me back to the agency again,” she says in a rush. Then she seems to realise what she’s said and her face turns a brilliant shade of fuschia. “That's not… I didn’t mean…” she stammers.

   “No, I understood,” Lockwood says with a levity he doesn’t truly feel. “No kissing on the job. George will be disappointed, but I think that’s alright. Anything else?”
