From his control room atop the mountain, Oswald watched his rival, Mickey Mouse scaling and shooting his brush at those spatters while he stood defiant in their presence, smiling as if this was a game.
To Oswald, that smile brought back memories of a time before the Blot, the Thinner Diaster and the loss of his love.
Many years ago,
In the newly formed kingdom of Wasteland,
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and his wife, Sadie also known as Ortensja to better match his successor’s character.
Were given the opportunity to rebuild their lives in a new way that allowed others like themselves after having been forgotten and rejected by the real world to find their place within this a peaceful place where no harm or danger would come to anyone.
Oswald began by building a town near the mountain, named Ostown, he had a house built for Ortensia, Clarabelle, Mickey, and other residents, however by the time of the first epic Mickey, most of these structures were destroyed in the initial stages of the disaster.
What it was before was a collection of different cartoon gags, which served as a way to entertain the residents of Wasteland within the gag factory, whose first owner was a discarded draft of Roger Rabbit that Oswald had met not too long after his arrival, the two were good neighbors and friends but he too was an unfortunate causality of the disaster alongside others from the same film that was meant to be his debut before Disney decided to go in a more wacky direction then having a traditional Disney version of the character and why he’s bitter abotu having almost made his debut only to end up being abandoned.
Like so many of the residents, it’s only when you come to Wasteland, you learn that real world exhh i sta as the characters in the Disney universe are unaware of the true nature of their existence, whereas in Wasteland, the characters gain a sense of limited x understanding of their existence and thus why there are so many references to various types of attractions and films from the Disney canon.
However by the time of Mickey’s arrival, the majority of these characters were already gone or taken by the Storm Blot, rumors circulated that the blotings and those unfortunate to come near the blot would find that the paint that made these characters were actually them now forced to be used as weapons against their former friends much like how the Blot used its influence to twist the landscape from a serene and peaceful place into one of chaos and violence that was compounded by the toxic thinner that had destroyed the once thriving rivers and ocean of water that had become corrosive and acidic to the point where locations like Disney Gulch, Wonderland, and others.
As Oswald and Ortensia watched from their perch on Dark Beauty Castle, as this happened,
Ortensia said” Oswald we need to get our citizens to safety and then assess the current situation.
So Oswald and Ortensia flew to Mean Street where Pete , Horacrcand some of the other residents of Mean Street were fighting off the spatters or trying to.
You ink freaks, ain’t taking over this world, you hear me, I am Big Bad Peg Leg Pete, the oldest villain of Disney, I will be the one not you freaks, everyone was too focused but Horace asked” Pete, was that a joke or something?
Was that a bad joke,
Yes, it was, from the sky, that Oswald and Ortensia came like saviors from above, as Ortensia dropped to the ground and began to evacuate the to a safe shelter while Oswald and those accompanying him, the Gremlins brought in some weapons to help fight off these inky monsters,
Soon, the turn of the battle against them was over,
Oswald’s forces had won the day but not the battle, from the castle, the Mad Doctor sneered as suddenly a deep dark mass of a demon like creature that then appeared and receded into a smaller but still terrifying creature with bright green eyes,
The Mad Doctor had his eyes on the opportunity that he had wanted for himself, for many years, he approached an asked “ Welcome my friend, to Wasteland, i apologize for the inconvenience caused by my former employer, however i like to offer you my services, I am the Mad Doctor,
Who might you be, the creature then spoke in a deep and chilling voice, “ I am the Storm Blot, a mistake created by a creature who resembled a rodent, somehow he allowed me to escape to this world,
Did this rodent have gloves, shoes and distinctive round ears,
Yes do know them,
My friend, we are unfortunate unintended creation of the world’s most famous cartoon star, Mickey Mouse.
The Storm Blot then asked what are we?,
Agh, the Doctor said with a sinister grjn, we are villains designed to be the anthesis of heroes like Mickey Mouse, we are often given a chance to be loved by the audience of the world but seeing as how I never appeared again, i have become forgotten but as for you, you were never given such a chance and thus are like all of us.
The Storm Blot now understood, it was a mistake, a villain crafted by circumstance, it wasn’t a character, I was an anamoly, something that was never meant to be .
As it almost accepted defeat, the Mad Doctor offers his plans, “ My friend, we can both become what we always wanted, you a beloved star and me, the ruler of this world,
The Blot’s depressed expression turned into a sadistic grin,
“ Educate me, Doctor on how to escape Wasteland and I will give us both what we deserve as the two villains now partners laughed as a marriage made in hell was cemented by several loud storm clouds in the background.
As Oswald and Ortensua helped to repel the blotings, a great roar was heard as the Mad Doctor appeared with the Beetleworx,
Hello Oswald, it’s a nice day for chaos,
Oswald confuse and surprised “ Asked why doc,
The Doctor cackled “ I been playing a part, you stupid rabbit, i am no longer a false ally waiting to see you fall out of power, now you will lose everything you have ever loved,
Beetleworx attack and destroy Oswald and his allies,
As the Beetleworx draw closer, Oswald feels the fear and uncertainty increasing as he prepares for the end when out of nowhere.
Charge lads, from a nearby projector, Gus and his gremlins arrived and started to dismantle the monsterous machines but the Doctor was unpleased, then he felt a great jolt of electricity as he felt his body began to shake as his controls began to go haywire and smoking as he fled away.
The Doctor saying “ You might have won the battle but the war for Wasteland is just beginning, you’ll lose everything Oswald and when you do, you’ll understand what it’s like to be like one of us.
Oswald now reflecting on those words, now understanding, how he was now alone because he had not taken the word of his wife seriously of how dangerous, the Mad Doctor is,
He often wondered who would the depraved monster that created this monster that destroyed his life.
All the while, Mickey realized the truth, his playing around with the magic brush had turned this beautiful world from a paradise into a wasteland.
All the while, on the slopes of the mountain made of old merchandise and snow, the true Blot waited inside it prison for the moment it would be revealed and then take its revenge on all that stood in his way.
At the top of the mountain, sometime before the beginning of Mickey’s arrival,
Oswald had called to the Storm Blot, “ I have surrender myself, come and get me and leave Wasteland alone and I will stop my forces from fighting you,
The Storm Blot payed little attention until it decided desptie it being a trap to end Oswald and teach its new subjects, the price of treason but before Oswald could be killed, he was pushed away. Before his eyes, he saw Ortensia as her face contorted in terror as the Blot tried to take away her life essence by absorbing her paint but Oswald held fast as he had enough strength left to seal the jug, while many celebrated the victory of Oswald over the Storm Blot. Oswald was not one for celebrating as despite his efforts , the bottle would leak leading to the creation of the Blotings including the Shadow Blot, for Oswald exiled himself to guard the true blot and he could no longer stand the sights of his kingdom now a twisted reflection of his own melancholy of loss and despair. One day, he was observing from a telescope and saw the Blot pulling someone into Wasteland, that someone would be who he would come to meet was the cartoon mouse who he had dreaded meeting for many years,Mickey Mouse, for he would come to change the fate of the world and an epic adventure would begin.
