Enid was too busy trying not to gape like a fish to bother responding to the vampire’s teasing. Wide blue eyes scanned over the girl in the distance, noting how soft her hair looked under the lights overhead and how pretty her half-hidden face was behind the thick book she was reading. The girl’s eyes read the pages in front of her with interest as she chewed on her bottom lip, making Enid’s heart skip several beats in her chest.
