Katya thought she would regret returning to the Camarilla, but she didn’t. Instead, she was very glad to once again be in a place where she felt safe. Being on the run chasing after her wayward childe, setting fires, stealing books and escaping the establishment… now Kayta could see all of that for what it really was - romantic folly. Being surrounded by the structure and traditions of the Camarilla was better. So long as those are there, Katya knew that she would be alright.
Now, if only she could convince Evangeline of that.
Katya tried her best to do just that, to re-absorb Evangeline back into the Ivory Tower. She was glad to finally have a position of some authority in Prince Vannevar's court. Being the Tremere Primogen certainly has its perks. As a bonus, she was also currently very much on Prince Vannevar and Seneschal Suzanne’s good side, thanks to her temporarily lifting the plague of insanity inflicting the Prince. She’s not completely untouchable, but she has privileges, and she wants to share those with Evangeline. Katya is hopeful she can use her sway to convince those above her to take a chance on Evangeline too.
Katya is not a fool. She knows her change of heart in regards to running away is because of Strauss. He found her, spoke to her, and his words… they made sense. Strauss is ancient and powerful, not to mention her own sire. Of course, who is she to question him? He wants the Tremere in Los Angeles to be united, and of course, that’s a good idea. United, they are much stronger than apart, and whatever remains of the Pyramid needs all the strength it can get. Strauss wants Katya to make good choices, and now she finds herself wanting to make him proud.
Katya told Strauss about the Nosferatu she saw Evangeline with in Griffith Park. The thought of him touching her beautiful angel turns Katya’s stomach. To her surprise, Strauss was interested, and Katya is under the impression that now he’s going to help her get her childe away from that disgusting creature. It seems like a win-win scenario. Katya will get Evangeline back, and Strauss will have access to the all-powerful Labyrinth that Nosferatu boy is guarding. All Katya has to do is further the Camarilla’s plans. The choice is obvious. Katya loves Evangeline more than anything. She will do anything to protect her childe and keep her close. The Camarilla is the best place for them both. It's time to bring her home.
