Aventurine was broken. Far too gone for anyone to ever manage bringing him back. Diamond himself, after a brief meeting with the sigonian, had assessed that the avgin wasn't fit to be a Stoneheart anymore. He had said: "A blind dog can't hunt. Our contract ends here."
Suddenly he felt like a child all over again, tied up in chains too heavy for his malnourished body, branding burning on his neck as he cried, screamed and begged for mercy.
