Summary
Captain Hornigold seems to be around his father’s age, and there’s some silver in his dark hair. He has a short-cropped, well-maintained beard, a barrel chest under a plain white shirt, and leather trousers that hug strong thighs. His leather boots come to just below his knees. “And who are you?” he demands, crossing his thick arms over his chest as he stares down at Stede, his face impassive.
“St-Stede Bonnet, Captain!” Stede aims for a salute, and his cheeks redden when he hears Izzy mutter something about how they’re pirates, not the fucking navy.
“Stede Bonnet, hm?” Captain Hornigold’s voice is curious, and he looks at the travel bags. “And you’re here to join my crew?”
“Yes, Captain!” Stede lowers his arm, not sure what to do. “I’m very keen! And capable!”
Stede Bonnet is on a trip with his father when he meets Eddie and Jack, two pirates on-board the Ranger. Eager to escape the stifling future ahead of him, Stede runs away.
After all, serving under Captain Hornigold can't be worse than staying with his family, right?
