We were just two strangers living on the streets, we encountered each other silently many times until one day I finally decided to talk to you.
I remember you were so excited to hear my voice for the first time, we became even closer than before, and despite me not being the talkative type somehow we managed to stay friends for a very long time.
When we became teens, we found a job after years of being alone on the streets, it was a dangerous one but it paid very well. Killing wasn't easy at first, but we got even better as our training days ended and our years working there passed, we were the best assassins who worked in that place, but one day all of that changed without any warning at all.
— Lilac Cookie! did you see the reward for this task?!— Scorpion Cookie said as she approached me with excitement— This is like... Your biggest job, so don't screw it up!— she said playfully—
— I know the prize is tempting, that's why I must take this seriously, so don't distract me— I said, trying to keep a professional demeanor, it was my work after all—
— Yeah, yeah... Oh, I'm so jealous!— She laughed—
Scorpion Cookie knew for sure that I could handle the job, she and I always succeeded after all, I guess that's why she felt that betrayed when she realized how much of a coward I really was.
Plain Yogurt Cookie wanted us to "eliminate" his younger brother, Yogurt Cream Cookie. They live in the city of Yogurca, and Plain Yogurt Cookie wanted his brother dead no matter the cost, so there I was, approaching the palace while preparing myself.
I planned to pretend to be Yogurt Cream Cookie's bodyguard so I could sneak myself with him, he didn't seem to notice anything weird so it was time for me to make the next move. But he suddenly was talking to me, and I was listening as if I were his actual bodyguard, the time passed and I couldn't find the courage to simply kill him and finish my job. Plain Yogurt Cookie soon began to notice my delay and started to get angrier as he saw me trying to avoid killing his brother.
It seems like he eventually noticed I wasn't going to do anything because later he hired Scorpion to try and kill Yogurt Cream once and for all, she came to me with a curious gaze.
—What happened, Lilac Cookie? I thought you said you had to take this seriously— She said teasing me—
—Of course, I said that, but... I need more time— I said, I didn't know if I could do it, I had to but I just couldn't—
—Well, I'm here to help you! let's finish the job, okay?—
—No!— I shouted, Scorpion looked confused, and I was too— I... god dammit, I can't! I can't let him die after...!—
—... Are you fucking kidding me, Lilac?— Her expression darkened, as if I had just confirmed her suspicions— I'll ask again, what happened to you? You knew how important this is for us, but you're still being selfish?! You don't even know that guy! it's our job, and you're failing just because!—
—Just go away, Scorpion— Looking back, I deeply regret what I said that day— I won't let you hurt him—
—Why are you choosing a guy you just met over your friend?!— She looked hurt, and she had every reason to feel that way—
—We're not friends until you leave that stupid job, because I won't do it anymore—
I walked away after a few moments of saying that, Scorpion growled and walked back, I guess that's when our relationship shattered and we parted ways.
And here we are now, fighting, and Scorpion trying to finish her business, I just want to protect Yogurt Cream, I don't know why but he makes me feel wanted. I regret leaving my former friend, but I don't think we want to be associated with each other any longer.
After all, we are just two strangers.
