Glanced up and down the line of his crew, all of them looking to him for direction. He’d given a little nod, meeting each one of their eyes for a moment. And they’d laid down their arms as well.
They’d live. For a while longer. That had to be enough.
But, god. If it were him alone? He’d have fought the entire crew. He’d’ve either had to have been cut down by the crew or stood over the man himself, with his sword aimed at his heart and his knife at the man’s throat.
