It's Blocky's second day on the job but surprisingly, it wasn't as busy as it was yesterday.
Glad I get a break today at least. Yesterday was an absolute nightmare of a first day.
Blocky couldn't feel all bad about it though, he did meet Dice after all. Speaking of Dice, Blocky didn't want to leave him alone so he decided to take him with him to work, so long as he stayed hidden and out of trouble. Dice didn't do much except eat from the trash and occasionally look out the window. He was happily bouncing on the couch until he heard someone come into the lounge.
“I think this is the place…” The person said as she looked around.
Blocky perked up when he heard her voice, his fear kicking in. Dice rolled off to hide somewhere.
Oh god, oh fuck…! Blocky thought nervously.
If it wasn't obvious from how Blocky was around Carol, he was deathly afraid of females. Nothing against them of course but his experiences have left him avoiding them like the plague.
Okay, stay calm Blocky. You can't show any fear.
“H-Hi! Welcome to the lounge! I-I make the coffee here.” Blocky said to the woman looking around.
The woman looked over at the counter, smiling brightly as she walked over.
“Hi!! It's so nice to finally meet you! I've heard so much about your coffee, I had to come and see for myself!”
“O-Oh, have I really gotten that popular already?”
“Yes!! Everyone's been talking about it! I'm honestly surprised there's no line.”
I'm grateful for it, you have no idea… Blocky thought.
After Blocky served her some coffee, the two continued to talk at the counter since it was slow. The woman was known as The Witch, or just Witch for short. She got the nickname from her incredible skills when it came to different herbs and spices. She did actually practice witchcraft in her spare time and claimed to have some magic spells she could use if she wanted. As they talked for what felt like hours as Blocky's fear slowly went away.
I can't believe I was worried about this going wrong! Blocky thought as he smiled to himself.
Unknown to the two, Dice had been silently watching them.
She looks nice. I wanna meet her! Dice thought as he slowly made his way over to the two.
“So then I got about halfway through my concoction when I realized that I was actually missing a core ingredient! Can you guess what it was!?” Witch asked.
“Hmm..”
As Blocky thought about the missing ingredient, his eyes wandered behind Witch and noticed Dice there. Blocky gasped, causing Witch to become concerned.
“What? Is there something wrong?” Witch asked.
“N-No! Nothing is wrong! I just uh… I just thought of the ingredient I was gonna guess! Was it paprika?”
“Yes! You got it! I wanted the concoction to have a little kick to it but I completely forgot…”
Blocky idly looked back over to where Dice was only to see he was gone.
Where did he go!? Blocky thought as he looked around.
Witch noticed this and paused the conversation once again.
“Is everything really okay Blocky? You seem worried about something.”
I'm worried about my friend getting caught and you freaking out about it!! Blocky thought as he looked towards Witch again.
He froze in place. There was Dice, rolling around on Witch's hat. How she didn't feel that was beyond Blocky but he knew he had to get out of this somehow.
“I-I'm… I'm just a little anxious is all.”
“Oh? About what?” Witch asked with concern.
Come on Blocky, think of something!!
“I guess… Being here and everything. I mean, we're apart of a big criminal organization! Prior to this, I was just a nobody who ran away from home…”
Witch frowned before putting a hand on his shoulder.
“I feel you Blocky. It can be hard adjusting to a new setting. I can promise you one thing though.”
“What?”
And just then, Witch slowly pulled Blocky into a hug, causing Blocky to blush like crazy.
“You're not alone.”
The two stayed like this for a while until Dice got dizzy from rolling around Witch's hat and fell onto the counter. They both perked up from the sound and looked over at the counter to see Dice lying there on his back.
“I-I can explain!!” Blocky said as he let go of Witch and flailed his arms.
“Aww, he's so cute!” Witch said as she gently grabbed him.
“Is he why you were so worried?”
“Well, um, more so w-worried on how you'd react to him…” Blocky said nervously.
“He's adorable! I absolutely love bugs! Though I do wonder why he's so big, roly pollies are usually much smaller.”
“Oh he's uh… H-He's kind of an alien…”
Kind of?? Dice thought.
“Aliens are real!?” Witch yelled out.
“Shh! Not so loud! No one knows about him but me! …And I guess you now.” Blocky said.
“Ah, sorry, your secret is safe with me!”
“Thank goodness…”
I have two friends now yay! Dice thought as he bounced out of Witch's hand and started rolling around her hat again.
Witch began laughing happily at this gesture with Blocky joining in soon after. A few hours later, Blocky, Witch, and Dice were sitting on the couch when Blocky realized his shift ended.
“Oh, it's 5pm, looks like my shift is done.” Blocky said as he got up and stretched.
“I still can't believe how slow it was today, no one came in but me huh?” Witch said as she did the same.
“It was like you and three other people so yeah, really slow."
“Haha. You know, it was really nice meeting you today, Blocky.”
Blocky smiled.
“Same here Witch.”
The two stared into each other's eyes until they both realized how close their faces got and looked away blushing.
“A-Anyways! Maybe when we have the day off, we could um, h-hangout?”
Witch smiled brightly.
“Yeah! I'd love that!”
While the two continued to talk, Dice was left to his thoughts.
I think I'm really going to like it here…
