Wano was free, two of the Four Emperors were defeated and a pirate alliance was about to end.
Everyone was celebrating, people flooding the streets, children running and laughing everywhere, the smell of delicious food was filling the night air. Wano was peaceful at last.
Luffy wandered down the streets, snickering to himself while the rest of his crew celebrated. He was searching for a specific someone.
“Torao!”
Law turned his head in direction of the familiar voice, his gaze falling on the fellow captain. He took another gulp from the vodka bottle and then sighed, watching Luffy walk closer while he tried to keep his balance. The sight was funny and unusual.
“Mugiwara-ya,” the older helped Luffy sit down without smushing his face into the grass. They were sitting far from the huge celebration, the sounds coming from the capital were mere background noise.
“I didn’t know where else to go.”
Law’s heart skipped a beat at his words, his golden eyes fell on the other’s face, just to make sure he was hearing that right.
“Away from food and a party?” He lightly mocked him. A part of Law was reminding him that Luffy was unable to weight his words before opening his mouth, as always; another part — the deepest one, told him that Luffy genuinely wanted to be with him at that moment.
“The others were having so much fun, Torao!” Luffy suddenly wrapped his arms around the latter, making him stiffen in place. “It’s not the same without you,” he mumbled, his chest pressed against Law’s arm while he held onto him. “Yeah?”
“Mhm. I feel sad,” Luffy puffed his cheeks. Law listened quietly, unsure where he was going. “I don’t think we should split up.”
“Why not?”
“'Cause I like having Torao this close.”
Law’s heart skipped a beat, his cheeks warmed up embarrassingly quickly at that. Damn you, Mugiwara-ya.
“We’re enemies, I already told you,” the older captain tried to keep his composure, pretending his words didn’t caused a soft and fuzzy feeling to bloom in his chest.
Luffy snuggled even closer, hiding his face into his chest and breathing in his scent.
“Nah.”
“Enough,” Law rolled his eyes, reluctantly pushing him away. It was useless though, Luffy clung even tighter and Law couldn’t really complain about it. He deeply craved his touch, his closeness. Clearly touch starved.
“I wish we could be together forever,” he abruptly confessed. “As allies, friends, or whatever you want,” Luffy shrugged, his tipsy state only pushed him to confess more and more.
Law remained quiet for a long moment, his face flushing as his heart pounded in his chest. He was happy. And he wanted it too, be with Luffy.
Luffy knew that too. There was no need for vocal confirmation, because Law’s heart was speaking loud enough. He slowly pulled away, looking at Law’s face with hazy eyes. He looked cute, and Law wanted to push his face away in annoyance, he was making him feel too soft.
“Torao,” Luffy called for him and when Law finally looked at his face again, Luffy leaned in to kiss his lips. He could taste vodka, and even though Luffy wasn’t a fan of alcohol, he kept kissing him.
Arms wrapped around his neck, he ended up straddling his lap. Law’s tatted hands rested on his waist, holding him close while they kissed, slow but with desire. They had craved it for a long time.
Law was a bit embarrassed about the whole confession, but he was happy, knowing that they cared for each other in the same manner, the same amount. Luffy showed him that it wasn’t one sided and that the desire to stay together was mutual. It was comforting.
Law couldn’t let go of the younger captain, holding him, kissing all over his face, caressing his hips… loving him.
And Luffy couldn’t stop reciprocating all those actions of love and affection, their hearts were beating at the unison, now even more tied together.
