They had a safe word. If Patrick was actually hurt, or didn’t want to continue, he knew to use it and Joe knew to listen. Patrick wasn’t hurt, and he didn’t want to interrupt the mood, so he felt continuing their dialogue was the most appropriate way to signal that he was okay. Joe’s grin returned to his face.
“God, you’re cute when you beg.” Joe stood over Patrick, head cocked to the side.
“I thought you’d put up much more of a fight. You’re so cocky on stage after all.” Patrick’s eyes widened as he felt Joe place his shoe against the bulge in his sweatpants.
“I guess that’s why they call it stage presence.”
