"aaaaaa" what's written on the notepad.

"aaaaaa" Hinata's thoughts 

Hinata Shōyō he's always and will always be carrying a notepad and ballpens wherever he goes, the notepads design and colours changing every day. Hinata Natsu, older sister. She's six years older than Shōyō, she's studying medicine and now she's half way in her residency. She's the one who taught Shōyō how to communicate by his hands or Japanese Sign Language. 

Natsu has gifted Shōyō two boxes of different notepads when he turned eight, she also set up a writing table with different kinds of pens, highlighter, correction tapes and markers. That made Shōyō grateful for his older sister, everyday his notepad changes designs and colours that reminds him that his sister will always love him.

It's the first week of school Shōyō has gone to karasuno. He knows there are a variety of special schools near his house but he still chooses Karasuno high where his idol, the little giant had studied. He's running to go to the gym after school, then he was thrown into somebody's back that made him thrown in the ground, his face scrunched and he slowly stood up patting down the dust from the impact. 

"Hey, watch where you're going?!" Shōyō finally looks up, he knows that face. It's from that match he watched when he was in middle school. It's the king of the court. The nickname he got because of his nasty attitude with his teammates.

Hinata bowed as an apology and he again started running towards the gymnasium leaving the bluenette confused with his non verbal action. "What the fuck?" Looking at the orange notepad decorated with small tangerines that have fallen from the smaller boy's pocket.

Shōyō finally submitted his application to the club to his senpai Sugawara. He's been messaging Sugawara about the volleyball team recruitment, he's sceptical about it at first but then Sugawara finally convinces him to try out first.

"So you've finally decided huh?" Sugawara asked while smiling at the red hair. Shōyō tapped his pocket to find his notepad and Ballpen but he could not feel it. That raised a worriedness in his face, he loved that notepad that he brought today. Sugawara pat Shōyō's shoulder to get his attention.

 "Your notepad is missing?" Shōyō nodded and sigh, that's his favourite notepad. He thought it fell when he dropped earlier.

"It's ok Hinata-kun we can just message each other later about the try out dates ok?" Sugawara smiled at him and Shōyō bowed down to say goodbye. When he turned around he again bumped into someone's chest. 

"Hey, it's you again shrimp" The "king" said Hinata was preparing to bow but then he noticed the taller man handing him something. "Is this yours?" Hinata smiled and nodded "it fell out of your pocket earlier" 

When he got the notepad Hinata fetched his Ballpen and wrote something. "Thank you so much, sorry for bumping into you two times already" The said man just nods then goes to Sugawara to talk.

"Oh you know Hinata-kun, kageyama-kun?" Sugawara asks, looking between Hinata and Kageyama. 

"No"

Hinata just shook his head. 

"Is that so? Kageyama-kun. Hey Hinata-kun come here a sec." Hinata stepped forward when Sugawara put his arms on the smaller one's shoulder.

"This is Kageyama Tobio, Kageyama this is Hinata Shōyō" Sugawara introduced them to each other. They both just bow at each other "Nice to meet you" Kageyama said.

"nice to meet you too" Hinata wrote in his notepad and just smiled at Kageyama.

"Can't you talk-" He didn't finish his sentence when daichi suddenly appeared and hit his head.

"Sorry about him Hinata-kun you don't have to explain yourself to this idiot" Daichi apologised on Kageyama's behalf when Shōyō had already started writing. 

"No worries it's fine imma go now" He stuck the notepad at Sugawara's shoulder then started running again waving goodbye. Daichi and Sugawara just shout their farewells while Kageyama tries to recover from the hit he received.

"Haiii Kageyama you never learn to shut up" Sugawara sighs and Daichi agrees with his friend. "He's mute can't you tell? That's why he always has a notepad and Ballpens in his pocket" Daichi added while patting Kageyama's back. 

"Don't blame him, Hinata-kun looks like he's the one who can talk all day, the kids practically beaming with energy" Sugawara laughingly said while accepting Kageyama application form. 

"Yeah that idiot's face is practically screaming at me when HE bumped INTO me" Daichi and Sugawara laughed at the

younger male’s statement.

There's one more thing you should know with Hinata Shōyō, he's best friends with Yamaguchi Tadashi and Tsukishima Kei, they're playmates or more like their parents are. Hinata's mom is close with both Tsukishima and Yamaguchi 's parents, especially when his dad passed away from the car accident that he survived but his vocal cords didn't.

 Shōyō is introduced with Tadashi first when he's six at the hospital. The Yamaguchi family had visited him and brought him a teddy bear toy with sunglasses. And the curious Tadashi who stayed beside him talking about how cool the flowers he saw at the park the last time they went by.

Shōyō's memories when he was six are vague but he can clearly remember when Tadashi would visit him just talking about things he likes and not questioning the boy's lack of voice. 

On the other hand he met Tsukishima Kei when he was finally discharged at the hospital. The Tsukishima family visited them, bringing him a cute light blue brachiosaurus stuffed toy. Kei is more different from Tadashi while Tadashi is just always talking. Kei is silent and not that talkative.

"Do u no like me?" He wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to the taller boy. They're hanging out at Shōyō's room sitting at his bed while Kei is reading a book about dinosaurs. 

"What makes you think so?" Kei asked, putting the book down and facing Shōyō. "I don't hate you stupid, I like your company" Shōyō couldn't understand but he just smiled at kei's response. Hinata adjusted himself laying down at Kei's lap happily knowing his second friend does not hate him because his quietness is enough. Meanwhile Kei just started reading the book out loud for his little friend.

"Shōyō honey we need to change your bandages" Mrs Hinata called, yeah that's one more Hinata can remember from his childhood he has a scar on his throat from the trauma of the accident and operation. 

"Auntie is calling you" Kei said to the boy who's still laying down on his lap. When the boy raises his eyes are glossy, which was noticed by Kei. "Are you sacred?" 

Shōyō looked at him and agreed, he's particularly scared of the medicine his mother will be putting on his throat. It stings like crazy. The distressed look of Shōyō alerted Kei. He hold the smaller boy's hand and bluntly told him "I'll come with you" 

While Mrs Hinata is cleaning Shōyō's neck, Kei is holding his hands clasp hard while Shōyō grimaces with the pain of the disinfectant. "Calm down Shōyō it will hurt much more if you keep moving stupid" Kei scolded him which made Mrs Hinata chuckle.

"SHŌYŌ WHERE WERE YOUUU?" Tadashi yelled at the sight of his little friend running to catch both him and Tsukishima. 

"That idiot probably wandered around campus again" Kei commented at Tadashi.  

"That's rude Kei" Shoyo signed, yes he called Tsukishima by his first name. At first the taller male tried to correct him but in the end he just agreed at Hinata's reasoning that kei is easier to sign.

"Hahaha you're very fast Shōyō still catch up to us"

"Of course I finally joined the try out, can't wait to practice with you guys" He signed then Tsukishima translated for Yamaguchi. Tsukishima can understand more of Hinata's sign language while Yamaguchi just knows a little. 

"Ohh is that so sho goodluck with that ok? Rooting for you" Hinata just smiled in return at Tadashi. They're now walking together to go home though Hinata's house is the farthest. 

"I almost lost my notepad today" 

"That's probably because you're an idiot and you kept losing things" Tsukishima replied that made Yamaguchi chuckle and Hinata frown. 

"I bumped into Kageyama? That's why it fell out of my pocket, Salty" He pouted at Tsukishima. 

"You didn't get hurt right?" Tadashi searches Hinata's small body for any injuries. But his friend just shook his head and started signing again "i didn't get hurt though i bumped to him two times-" Yamaguchi cut him with a little louder comment " TWO TIMES?" 

"Let him finish Yamaguchi" Tadashi just sighs and signs the red hair to continue. 

"The second time he found me in the gym and returned my notepad and asked if im not gonna talk" 

"That's rude didn't he read the room my gosh" 

"What do you expect from the king?" Kei just rolled his eyes with Yamaguchi's statement. While Hinata signs that he's being rude because of the nickname.

Tadashi's the first one to part ways with them waving goodbye to the duo. Both Tsukishima and Shōyō are now walking dead silent, just Tsukishima listening to music when Hinata tapped his hand.

"Are you mad?" Tsukishima looks at Shōyō with a confused look. "Why would i be mad idiot" 

"You've been quiet and irritated by my story, is it because I didn't sign up at the same time as you guys?" His signing started to get messy when Tsukishima pulled him to stop walking. "Calm down and sign slowly. I can't understand if you let your anxiety get a head of yourself" Shōyō inhaled then he signed again.

"No, I'm not mad about that, I'm just irritated by your face," he joked and Shōyō pouted. "You've been bumping into people lately making you more stupid" Tsukishima continued walking after saying that leaving Hinata with a parted lip with how shocked he is by his friends comment. It's clear his point is I'm mad that you keep bumping into people . What if it hurts you? He caught you with his friend and smiled then he signed thank you.

"Tsk" that's all he get from his dear friend

Chapter Text

Hinata Shōyō is officially part of the Karasuno volleyball team, today he'll meet his teammates. He and Kageyama passed the try out which made him very happy that he can play with his friends. He brought his blue notepad with little blueberry designs on it. 

Now they're facing every member of Karasuno.

"This is Kageyama Tobio" Kageyama bowed at them. "And Hinata Shōyō, the new addition to our team please welcome them" Hinata bowed and then the entire team bowed to them too. One by one they introduced themselves, then lastly is Tsukishima's turn. 

Tsukishima faced his friend then introduced himself "Tsukishima Kei first year middle blocker" He didn't just speak he also signed making Hinata beamed and smiled. The whole team just watched it happen, they also saw Yamaguchi smile warmly at his two friends.

When they all noticed Hinata's not speaking and saw the four inches dark pink scar that is placed on Hinata's lower throat, they didn't notice it before even Kageyama this just made the whole gym scream awkwardness. 

"Don't you know that it's rude to stare?" Tsukishima sarcastically said then stepped in front of Hinata and glanced at him to see if he's still ok. 

"Sorry about them Hinata do you mind?" Daichi first asked for permission to tell the whole team about the situation, Shōyō just agreed, still hiding in Tsukishima's back.

"Listen up you all probably noticed about Hinata not speaking, he cannot speak or more clearly he's mute is that clear? I don't want any of you pestering Hinata about his condition or else you'll face me, understand?" The team just all agreed with their captain and returned a smile to Hinata. 

"That wasn't so bad right sho?" Yamaguchi asked "  i never knew tsukki can be this protective " He added while snickering. 

"Shut up Yamaguchi" that's all Yamaguchi received from the blonde.

" Hey Hinata I'm glad you made it to the team" Sugawara called he step near Shōyō and gave him a head pat. "I'm glad too can't wait to play with you suga-san" He signed and Yamaguchi just translated. 

"Woah you can understand JSL too?" 

"Yeah I studied it too, not as much as Tsukki though" Yamaguchi replied while scratching his neck.

"Boke Hinata let's warm up" Kageyama called, making Hinata beamed and run up to him to start warming up. 

"So childhood friends?" Suga asked while standing beside Yamaguchi. The green haired bit his chin to try and hide his smile. "Yeah Childhood friends"

The next few days of practice the whole team is begging Tsukishima and Yamaguchi to teach them how to communicate with the sunshine.

"So how would we know if he said nice kill?" Tanaka curiously asked Tsukishima while Noya didn't stop pestering Yamaguchi on what a nice received would look like. Tsukishima just fed up but he just signed to just end this torture. "You can just tell him nice received and he will sign it back, he's not deaf"

"But I also want to sign it for him , you know to get the full experience " Tanaka proudly said, making his older senpai's in the gym smile. Tanaka and Noya must've like Hinata so much that they're willing to communicate with him with sign language too.

"Oh like this" Noya imitating Yamaguchi's hand movement, and Yamaguchi just correcting his senpai's hand position "just slowly try it"

"Like this?" He tried again Yamaguchi grin and nod. "Woah that's cool and easy i want to learn moree right Bro?" Noya cheerfully goes to Tanaka who's also trying to sign a nice kill.

"Yeah bro this is amazing"  

"Break time's over Tanaka and Nishinoya stop pestering them" Daichi called which made the two whine about wanting to learn more.

"Why don't you just guys ask Hinata-kun he'll teach you for sure" Suga recommended while daichi and Asahi agreed to him. They finally saw Kageyama and Hinata running towards the gym. 

"I win" Hinata signed to Kageyama, he's been teaching Kageyama how to understand simple signs when they race, a basic yes/no, i win/i lose, idiot and Kageyama's own name.

"I heard Hinata-kun you're teaching Kageyama-kun how to sign his name?" Suga asked the two boys who just arrived. Hinata unexpectedly burst with joy and nodded. He looked like he wanted to ramble about how hard Kageyama was to teach and how stiff he is.

"He's just so stupid moving his hand not thinking, it's like I'm teaching a toddler to do sign language. And he didn't even understand up down side like he can't control his han-" Hinata didn't even finish signing when Tsukishima toss him a water bottle. "Drink up shrimp you don't want to shrink down even more right? Stop rambling for a sec" He said then he walked away to practice with tadashi. Sugawara grinning looking back and forth at Hinata and Tsukishima. 

"I never imagined he could be so sweet," Asahi whispered to Daichi who's smirking. 

"Idiot you suck at explaining how to move my hand idiot Hinata idiot" Kageyama shouted at the same time he held Hinata's collar and threw him, Hinata just landed smoothly and signed "you suck more bakayama" Then stuck out his tongue.

"I could see this happening every practice bro" Noya staring at his underclassmen and Tanaka nodding beside him.

Chapter Text

Months passed by rapidly the Karasuno now got a coach, the former coach Ukai's grandson.Keishin Ukai who works at Sakanoshita Market where Hinata would always buy meat buns. The coach is surprised that the mute boy had gotten into volleyball not that he doubts the sunshine but he can really see the determination with his face.

"Use your knee Hinata, the force of the received need to flow through your body like this" Ukai corrected the posture of the boy who's just smiling at him. While the others are also busy with their own game play practice like receiving, blocking, and serving.

Hinata noticed Yamaguchi's serve was improving when he saw that the green hair boy looked at him, he immediately signed. "You're getting good at serving Tadashi " then smiled brightly.

"Thank you" Tadashi just signed back. Then the gym door suddenly banged loudly with Takeda-sensei panting. "I-I got good news" He managed to shout that made the whole gym stop on what they're doing.

"I'm so excited about our practice match tomorrow" Hinata happily signed at his Tsukishima, it's 5 in the morning, both of them walking towards school. " I can't believe we'll meet another team this early" 

"Idiot stop blabbering" Tsukishima spat that made Hinata just giggled and stop but still walking lively then they saw Kageyama and Yamaguchi.

"Hey Yama Yama" He signed that made Kageyama and Yamaguchi confused. " Is that a new nickname Shōyō?" Yamaguchi asked

"Yeah when you two are together it's nice to sign this nickname"

"It's stupid" Tsukishima commented.

"Idiot Hinata boke" Kageyama wanting to hold the smaller one's head but was stopped by Tsukishima. "It's too early to punish your peasant king" 

"Shut up four eyes" 

"Shut up guys, it's too early for this" Tadashi shushed them.

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

They arrived at the school and saw the third years talking. Hinata just runs up to them, immediately handing Suga a note, he pre write the note yesterday night with a cute pink notepad and blue ballpen.

"Suga-san hello thank you for teaching me these past few weeks, i'm really excited to meet new people and setters but you're still my favourite teacher setter ever ever ever. :3" Suga read it so that his face flustered that he hugged Hinata and spun him around. The action made the two third years panicked at their friend's action. 

"You're so adorable Hinata, i wish to keep you in my pocket" Suga pinched the younger one's cheek, that made him laugh. 

"Suga don't just do that to Hinata what if you injured him accidentally" Daichi scolded but Suga just stuck his tongue out as a response. 

"That's enough you guys let's just get going to practice some more before going" Asahi recommended the first years and third years walk together when they spotted the second years.

"SHOYOOO" 

"NOYA-SAN" Hinata signed as he approached his senpai to give him a hug.

"SHOYOOO"

"NOYA-SAN" He's now giggling, even tho everything is silent like his laugh and small chuckles, they can really see it in Hinata's expression.

"Shōyō, are you excited to go to Tokyo?" 

"Of course Noya-san I barely slept last night. I was so excited" He wrote on his notepad. He prefers to write at his notepad today instead of signing. He does not want to bother Tsukishima or Yamaguchi to translate what he is saying. He stuck the note to his senpai's hand, the cute little red notepad with cat designs.

"Wow this is the first time I got a note from you Shōyō" Noya said, holding the note and placing it into his heart.

"I am greatly honoured i will keep this until i die" 

"HEYYYY unfair, I want a note too Hinata" Tanaka shouted at the duo.

"Good morning to you too, Tanaka-senpai," He wrote and gave it to Tanaka.

"We should keep this and collect the different notepad designs bro" Tanaka recommended.

"You're so smart broo, Shōyō you should write to us daily so you know we can collect these cool notepads" Nishinoya excitedly said and he put his arms on Hinata's shoulder. The latter just nodded enthusiastically. 

"That's stupid" Tsukishima appeared besides them, he just finished changing his clothes with Yamaguchi behind him. 

"Hey don't act like you don't have a collection of those precious notepads like they're planning to do" Yamaguchi snickered. 

"Wow i never expected tsuki-bro to also keep this little notepad from my favourite underclassmen" 

"Yeah bro tsukishima doesn't look like he cares about them" 

"Stop putting gasoline on the fire Tanaka Nishinoya just changed already so we can practice" Suga says, Hinata just agreed then run towards the changing room to see Kageyama had already changed clothes.

"I win" Kageyama signed that caught Hinata off guard. With a confused or overwhelmed latter they both stood there for a full minute when Hinata's face bloomed red from neck to his ears and forehead.

"HEY WHY ARE YOU RED IDIOT ARE YOU SICK? DON'T GET SICK I'LL KILL YOU" Kageyama yelled then started shaking Hinata's shoulder but Hinata just ignored Kageyama and ran to the changing room.

Hinata and Kageyama are racing, not really caring about their surroundings well until Hinata got separated from everybody else.

"Oh no where is everybody else?" He looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings and started walking around.

"I hope i didn't get too far away from everyone" Hinata continued to walk when he finally saw a person. 

"Oh there's somebody there" He approached the blonde then tapped the latters shoulder lightly that shocked them. Hinata observed the boy who's pausing his game and staring at him that made Hinata's spine shiver. He's kinda freaked out by how the other one is staring at him especially at his neck.He took out his pen and notepad and started writing then handed it to the blonde.

"Nice to meet you sorry to bother, I am Hinata Shōyō and I'm kinda lost. Do you mind if I ask for directions?" 

Kenma's confused, he stared at the boy in front of him who handed him a cute red notepad with little cats designed. He can't really predict if the red hair is deaf or mute but he saw the boy's scar on the neck and assumed that he's just mute. The red hair or Shōyō probably noticed that Kenma's been staring but he's too caught up on the boy's face. Freckles shattered around the boy's face and neck, orange hair glowing from the sun's rays, cute little button nose, big round eyes full of curiosity probably about what kenma's playing and lastly slightly parted reddish lips. Kenma looked away before he got sucked in at the sight of the boy.

"Hello I'm kozume.........kenma" Kenma introduced himself and started playing on his phone again. "I'm sorry but i'm lost too" He continued then he glanced at the boy who looked disappointed but begin to write again.

"Ohh is that so, what are you doing kenma-san, You play volleyball too?" He then stuck it at Kenma's forearm. 

"Just passing the time, i play too second year setter" He answered nonchalantly, he can feel the beam that the red hair has been radiating. This is the first time that he wanted to touch the beam or make him smile even more to see how he laughed.

"That's nice I play too even though people said i shouldn't since of my small height and disability, do you believe kenma-san height is an advantage?" He wrote again.

"Not really it depends i don't care about that" He answered before he finished answering he saw kuroo walking up to him, he packed his things.

"Hey there you let's go?" 

"See you around Shōyō" they just both waved goodbye leaving the red hair confused.

"Who's that? Is he your friend?" Kuroo asked his best friend.

"Yeah, That's Shōyō from Karasuno"

"Ohh wait what?" Kenma didn't entertain his friend's questions about Shōyō; he's too caught up thinking about the boy he just met.

"Oh my god there you are, Hinata don't just run off like that you gave us quite the scare" Suga with Asahi arrived behind the boy. Hinata smiled and bowed to apologise to his senpai, he wrote something then gave it to suga.

"Sorry Suga-san and thank you for looking for me. I just made a new friend :)" Suga looked at the happy little child in front of him and sighs. 

"As long as you're safe Hinata, I hope they're not some kind of thugs, right suga?" Asahi nervously commented, he never really questioned Hinata's ability to make friends but it concerns him that even thugs or gangster Hinata can befriend them.  

"There's no thugs at this area Asahi stop being so paranoid about it" 

"It's better to be safe than sorry you know"

"Don't worry asahi-san he's a volleyball player too, not some thugs" Hinata handed the note to Asahi that gave him an ease. 

Chapter Text

Karasuno arrived at the practice match with Nekoma, Kenma immediately noticed the red head he befriended, he saw him looking at him, he just waved slightly at the boy. When he noticed that somebody's holding the smaller boy's wrist, it was a green-haired boy.

"Shōyō I'm begging don't run and jump at that new friend" Yamaguchi utters in Shōyō's ears, the latter practically vibrating in happiness to see his new friend is part of Nekoma team. 

Hinata pushed Yamaguchi's hand away to sign "the team fits kenma's feature a lot, he kinda reminds me of a cat in front of coach Ukai's shop" 

Tsukishima just let out an irritating sound and dragged Hinata to the side. "Sign slowly dimwit Yamaguchi cannot understand you if you keep twitching like crazy " He's too tired to deal with Hinata using his voice. "And don't get too close with those guys you barely know them" He added to his scolding but it seems useless since Hinata just grin and run towards kenma.

"Idiot," Tsukishima whispered.

"Overprotective much?" Noya teased.

"That's very possessive of you Tsukishima" Tanaka added to the flame which made Tsukishima snort. "Like you can understand what we're talking about"

"Tanaka Nishinoya stop bothering the first years and start warming up that goes for everyone else" Daichi yelled "Hinata get back here!!"

After running away from his friend Hinata tapped Kenma's shoulder then handed him a note.

 "Hello Kenma, I'm so excited to play with you today. I didn't realise you're a part of Nekoma. That's cool" It's written on a pink notepad with cherry blossom designs which made kenma's ears go red "cute" he thought.

"Thanks, I'm kinda curious on how you play too Shōyō " Kenma said before Kuroo suddenly appeared behind him. 

"Hey isn't this the chibi-chan you met yesterday, I'm Tetsurou Kuroo. Nice to meet you" Kuroo introduced himself and made Hinata beamed. When he was about to fetch his notepad he heard Daichi yelling at him. He also felt that his notepad and ballpen were gone, which made him panic. 

"This is Hinata Shōyō" Kenma saw the situation and introduced Hinata to his childhood friend. Kuroo was surprised by his friends action; he's more intrigued by the boy's situation. 

" HINATA BOKE I HAVE YOUR STUPID NOTEPAD" Kageyama shouted and went beside Hinata to hand him the missing things of the red hair. Hinata just signed a thank you letter to his friend. 

"Sorry about that kuroo-senpai Kenma, you're probably wondering what's happening, I'm mute :3 and nice to meet you too." Shōyō handed him the note with a similar design like kenmas.

"Shōyō don't wait for Daichi-san to come get you there, get back start warming up" Yamaguchi called him that made Hinata turn around and sign he'll be there. He bowed to the two Nekoma players and left. The whole Nekoma team is just watching the scene unfold to their eyes. 

"He gave you a cute little note there Kenma" Yaku mentioned before going back to stretching. Kenma just looked at the note in his hand reminding himself to put it in his bag later.

The match ended by Karasuno losing but the little red hair didn't seem fazed by it. He continued talking to the two neko friends he just made while Tsukishima was on his side translating what he's saying(not much of it).

"That's an awesome set Kenma it goes whoosh then fwoosh and bam by kuroo san" He gave the little note to the setter knowing that Tsukishima won't be able to translate what he's saying. 

"Tsk can't sign what you want to say, Shrimpy?" Tsukishima with a half joke irritation voice said and pinched Hinata's ears. 

"That hurt salty-shima" 

"Don't make up nicknames using signs again idiot"Hinata stuck his tongue out as a reply and continued talking to kuroo.

"You have awesome hair kuroo-san" Tsukishima painfully translates, he's nearly convulsing from cringe. But the sunshine beside him just beamed at Kuroo that made the middle blocker gently pat the small tangerine's head. 

"You're one adorable crow huh?"

"What about me Shōyō?" Kenma glaring at his best friend from touching his new friend. In Kenma's mind he befriended the red hair first so it's only fair that he also got more compliments from the cute little sunshine.

"Aww Kenma, my words can't describe how awesome you are. I wish to play with you soon, I wanna be with the brain of Nekoma" Hinata handed the note, not minding how the last sentence made the setter go stupidly flustered and speechless. 

"I want to be with you too Shōyō" Kuroo raises his eyebrows from his friends reply on how sly his friend is but that just made the boy ten times happier that he hugged Kenma. 

The physical affection made the two teams freeze, Kenma isn't really open with affection while on the other hand Hinata will not think twice to give a hug to everyone who he just met or comfortable with. Nekoma is expecting Kenma to be annoyed by the move, but to their surprise Kenma returns the hug. Tsukishima facing Kenma and glaring at the other blonde, Kenma also gave back a glare at the taller blonde making sure to hug the red hair tighter.

That made Tsukishima's last string snapped and pulled Hinata's collar to break the hug. Kuroo on the contrary trying his best not to wheezed at his socially awkward best friend and the cute red hair crow situation. 

"It's rude to hug a person you just met" Tsukishima aggressively signs at Hinata who's frowning. 

"But i love giving hugs" 

"Then give it to Tadashi or somebody else not them" 

"But i want to hug kenma specifically" the two having the worst signed contest was stopped by Suga. During the battle Kuroo just watched in administration how precise the two signed and Kenma besides him looked annoyed by the fact that Tsukishima pulled Hinata away from him to scold him.

"Stop it you two, Shōyō say your goodbyes to your new friend we'll wait in the bus" Suga pulls Tsukishima away from the trio.

"We should exchange numbers Kenma and kuroo-san here's mine you can chat with me anytime" He gave the little note with his personal number at Kenma. The latter doesn't want to share the little crow; he instead insists on Shōyō's phone so he can type his own number.

"Here Shōyō you should get going, you don't want your team leaving you behind" Kenma returned the phone, Kuroo wanting to protest that he didn't put his number yet but Kenma ignored him holding the little crows wrist and walking out with him. Oblivious as he is, Hinata just goes with the flow at his new best friend, he waved goodbye to the Nekoma team before finally exiting the gymnasium.

Shōyō finally saw Sugawara and Daichi waiting for him outside the bus. He turned to kenma to give the setter one last hug then waved goodbye and Kenma gladly returned with a small smile.

"You really like chibi-chan huh?" Kuroo appears behind him again with Yamamoto and Yaku beside him. 

"I don't see what's so special with that kid, he's just like yaku-sa-" Yamamoto's sentence was cut by Yaku kicking him from the back. 

"ARE YOU SAYING THAT BECAUSE OF MY HEIGHT?"

"I told you stop bringing up Yaku's height"

Hinata Shōyō the Hinata Shōyō who's never ever good at directions ever. When going out with his friends he's always in the middle so he can never wander away. Sad to say that this isn't hanging out with friends, he's actually with his family in Tokyo visiting their family with Tadashi's Family accompanying them. 

It was totally not Hinata's fault that he got lost in the big crowd but here he is on a random street in the middle of Tokyo. 

"I should be fine i have my phone with me" 

"Shōyō can I borrow your phone for a sec? I wanna hear again those new songs you downloaded." Tadashi asked while they're on the car on the way to Tokyo. He agreed and handed the green head his phone.

And it hit him that he doesn't have his phone. In the middle of Tokyo, without a phone and bad directions.

"This is the worst day ever, i wish BakaShima is with us he'll probably noticed that i'm gone" 

He just started walking to find some signs to follow. Bad news: he doesn't know where they're really going. 

"Fudge, this is stupid. I'll just look for the police station"

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN HE'S GONE?" 

Tadashi held his tears after telling Tsukishima that their precious Shōyō just vanished, gone in the thin air. All the anxiety and thinking about where Hinata would be, he just exploded and called Tsukishima. 

"TSK you know that idiot can wander off anywhere, how long is he gone?" 

"Around 2 hours? That's our estimate maybe he got lost in the crowd" 

"Oh you two idiots will be the end of me, why did you call me when you can just dial his phone?" 

"That's the thing-" Tadashi inhaled first praying that after finding Hinata and going home to Miyagi, Tsukishima won't hang him upside down or, worse, finally murder him.

"I have his phone-" He didn't even have to finish what he was saying when Tsukishima groaned already.

"OH MY GOD you nimrod, You do know Hinata is much of a bigger idiot right? If he doesn't have his phone he's probably wondering God knows where with his BAD SENSE of direction. Just tell auntie go to the police station you're hopeless" 

"Sorry"

"Don't apologise to me, find Shōyō first and call me immediately when you found him" Tsukishima pressed the end call, wishing to teleport in Tokyo to help locate the red head. Thinking about Hinata in a big city without a phone scares the shit out of him.

"At Least he's gonna cry yet until sun down" He muttered as his palm meet his face.

It's already noon.

Hinata was just wandering off the alleys, he tried asking people but they're just ignoring him. His notepads running thin means it's running out of pages. He sighed trying to calm himself and prevent the tears from falling down when someone bumped into him that made him fall.

"Oh no sorry i didn't see you there, lemme help you get up" The voice of a man rings to Hinata's ears while a helping hand is offered to him. He got up and patted the dust away from his clothes, when he looked up he saw a brunette around 5'10 cm in height. He studied the tallers face. "Slim iris?" Hinata thought.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" The guy asked, he just shook his head and he beamed finally a person talking to him. He started writing "I'm alright I'm Hinata Shōyō sorry i couldn't respond to you but i can hear you perfectly. Can you do me a favour? I'm kinda lost i'm not from here" 

"Ohhh is that so? Lovely to meet you. I'm Motoya Komori. I know this is rude to assume when we just met but are you mute?" Hinata nodded at Komori's question that made the latter beam too. 

"Is that so sorry for bumping to you again come with me i know someone who can help you" 

They begin walking in the big street of Chiyoda. Motori stopped in front of a gym he peek inside and check if anyone is still there, then he spotted his cousin. He gestures to Hinata to follow him inside. 

"Is this a volleyball court?" Hinata handed him the notepad with a cute little otter design at the bottom left.

"Oh yes this is Itachiyama institute gymnasium, I play on the team as libero" komori said proudly while grinning at Hinata.

"Woah you're really awesome Motoya-san and you're tall too. That's so cool, I play too as a middle blocker" Shōyō wrote Komori could not hide the amusement on his face "chibi is a middle blocker that's a surprise" he thought.

"Thanks for the compliment Hinata-chan you're cool too, can't believe you play volleyball too" He replied and they both continued to chit chat while getting near the changing room.

"Hey Kiyo, you're still here" Motori called the guy, Hinata peek at the guy behind his new friend. They've entered what looks like a locker and strangely there's a guy cleaning there with black curly hair facing away from them.

"What the fuck are you doing back here Motoya?" The guy with a deep booming voice spat.

"Hey hey can you be nicer we have a guest here" Motoya chirped at his cousin going besides Hinata to introduce him.

"This is Hinata Shōyō. I bumped into him earlier and he said he's lost. I just remembered who could help him and it's you~" Komori said smiling at his cousin leaving the most important knowledge behind.

Hinata waved shyly at the guy who's now standing in front of him. Now that Shōyō is facing him he saw the two beauty marks in the said man's forehead that look like a colon, sleepy eyes with black iris. Who's wearing a bright yellow and green jersey with number 10 in the front. 

"Hinata-chan this is Sakusa Kiyoomi my cousin, if you're wondering why I brought you to him because he knows ASL ( American Sign Language)" Komori told him that made Hinata glow and smile, the fear of being lost finally gone in the air. 

"Hello" he signed at Sakusa while the guy just stood there in shock , then he finally snapped and glared at his cousin.

"Where are you from?" Sakusa asked in a sign leaving Komori outside their conversation. You're gonna ask why Sakusa knows sign language? Because he has an older sister who's deaf, he wanted to learn ASL for her while she's studying outside the country. She's now a Paediatrician at a well known hospital in America.

"I'm from Migayi, i come here with my family to visit some far away relatives but i got caught in the crowd and i accidentally left my phone on my friend" Hinata excitedly signed Jsl is different from Asl but Hinata knows both since it was taught to them at special school when he's 10.

"Oh let me change clothes then I'll help you, you can sit here in the meantime and I'll talk to this idiot" Sakusa signed with red hair. Then he pulled his cousin away from the boy.

"Okay, what do you want, Komori? I know you're gonna broadcast this to my mom so spill it" Sakusa impatiently asked while getting his hand sanitizer.

"Well I'm hoping we can take him for a while-" 

"Are you crazy? His family are probably looking for him right now let's take him to the police station " Sakusa looking at his cousin with "what the fuck is even that suggestion" look after saying that.

"I mean yeah don't you want to hang with him he said he also plays volleyball, i know you've been itching to communicate with Asl for the past 6 months" Komori snickers and leaves Sakusa to sit down with Shōyō. Sakusa stared at the boy he just met.

Sakusa Kiyoomi he hates people touching him, he hates talking to people and most importantly he hates getting sick. He's always the one who's left behind at the changing room to avoid everyone's sweat smell that can make him gag. Most of the time he takes 40 mins to clean up properly.

He's very fond of his older sister who's deaf since birth. His sister never gave up on her dreams with "effort and hard work you can get anything". That line stuck with him since childhood effort and hard work, it'll pay off. His hard work on volleyball did pay off; he's a top ace while still in the second year of high school. 

You see, Sakusa really enjoys sign language. In his perspective it's a way of Serene and elegant. He finds peace speaking with his sister and he enjoys it. Although he rarely speaks to her, he really wants to use sign language more frequently. That's why he randomly said to his talkative cousin that he wished there's someone who could talk sign language nonstop. Well lucky for him God does listen.

He's now standing besides a literal sunshine incarnate signing to him about his teammates in Miyagi how they'll always baby him and non stop boke of his partner Kageyama. Sakusa could watch him all day signing. They're now inside a cafe Sakusa decided to treat Hinata before going to the police station.

"Kiyo if you keep staring at him he'll melt eventually" Komori laughingly joked at his cousin he just received a death glare and a giggle from Shōyō who's drinking his chocolate strawberry drink.

"Oh shut up Komori" Sakusa utter then drank the coffee he ordered which is Americano.

"Nee Shōyō are you dating someone? I bet many girls would like to date you, you're very adorable" Komori continued teasing his cousin.

Hinata just shrugged and shook his head, he just ran out of notepads to write on.

"I've been single since forever" he signed and sakusa translated.

"But i do have friends who learned JSL just for me which is very sweet. I appreciate them so much especially Kei who's always looking out for me and also Tadashi" Shōyō started rambling and Sakusa who's caught on the moment forgot that his cousin is with them. 

Sakusa watches how flowy Hinata signs, and how his face can also portray what he is saying. "Brown chocolate eyes" Sakusa thought. He can get lost in those shiny eyes, it's sparkling contrasting with the boy's orange hair. The little freckles scattered around his face and pouting lips. He noticed Hinata's hands too, they're well taken care of with clear nail polish on them. 

"Ehem we' should get going then? I already paid the bill" Motoya pointed and Hinata thanked the two before going out to the police station.

"OH MY GOD SHOYO" Tadashi shouted seeing the familiar red hair entering the police station he ran to and hugged the boy. He didn't leave the police station until Shōyō could be found; he just waited there sitting trying to calm himself. Till Shōyō finally shows up.

"We're so worried about you, where have you gone? Did you eat? Are you hurt somewhere? Who are these people?" Tadashi interrogated 

"I'm ok Tadashi, they're my friends, they treated me to food and drink and helped me locate the police station." Tadashi noticed Hinata's clothes; he's wearing a jacket black with green and yellow design.

"Tadashi, this is Sakusa Kiyoomi and Motoya Komori. I met Komori on the street and he brought me to his cousin who can understand signs" Tadashi exhaled and stood up correctly to introduce himself.

"Hello I'm Yamaguchi Tadashi Sho best friend, thank you for looking out for him i hope he didn't cause any trouble"

"No worries, my cousin adored Hinata-chan so much he's very nice right kiyo?" Komori replied smiling and Tadashi smiled sarcastically.

"Hmn, Shōyō loved talking about you and his other friends," Sakusa said and patted the shy Hinata's head. Tadashi was just shocked about how this man called his friend. Komori just turned stone. His cousin, the number one germ hater in the world who hates human contact, patted someone's hair and it's a boy who he just met. Komori could faint now.

"And if you don't mind Shōyō you can keep my jacket" He signed at the sunshine 

"But this looked special to you? You won't mind Kiyoomi-san?" 

"Nope you're shivering earlier, can i just get your number as a return?"

"Yes of course"

"No you can't" Yamaguchi joins their sign conversation, even though he doesn't understand a lot of signs he knows that this tall man is asking for his friend's number.

"Why Tadashi i want to keep in contact with them too they helped me a lot today" 

"Fine, here's your phone, I'll go call Tsuki in the meantime he's probably restless" Tadashi excused himself and texted Hinata's mother that Hinata's been found before calling Tsukishima.

"Thank you for today Kiyoomi-san and Komori-san, '' Hinata signed after receiving the two itachiyama's player numbers. Now the three of them are sitting at the bench while Hinata's head is resting at Kiyoomi's shoulder. The sun has finally set, it's already 6:40 in the evening.

"No worries Hinata-chan, I wish we can hang out again and much longer" Komori replied in the obviously tired looking sunshine.

"Don't mention it Shōyō if you need anything you can text or call me" Hinata didn't have the energy to sign anything at kiyoomi. He silently thanked them again, nearly closing his eyes when Tadashi appeared again after clearing Hinata's missing case file.

"Hey sho are you sleepy sunshine?" Tadashi rarely used that nickname of Hinata he ducked down so Hinata could see his face.

"Auntie are outside now you should say your goodbyes to your new friends" Tadashi smiled and left to give them another ten minutes.

"Thank you again Kiyoomi-san and Komori-san. I can't think of anything to repay you two for today's trouble. I own you one, i enjoyed talking with you Sakusa-san let's hang out soon again" He signed.

Komori hugged him as a farewell and Sakusa patted Shoyo’s head again and waved goodbye when they finally parted ways.

"Hello tsuki Shōyō's been found, he actually came to the station" Tadashi immediately said after Tsukishima picked up the phone. He heard Tsukishima exhale in content.

"But he made friends with the players of itachiyama-" 

"FRIENDS WITH WHO?" Tadashi's last thread of patience is running thin. If Tsukishima continued to cut his sentences he would finally scold the blonde.

"Are you even listening itachiyama's players the ace and the libero you know the ones we saw on the internet last month, they've seem fond of shoyo and sho loves how he can finally use Asl i think that ace like-"

"For fuck sake Hinata Shōyō will be the death of me, after you two comeback don't go home We'll need to talk to Hinata before he killed me with cardiac arrest" Tsukishima announced making Yamaguchi's blood run cold Tsukishima kei will finally

murder him. 

The call ends with Tsukishima almost smashing his phone with irritation. "Fucking volleyball players" he cursed under his breath. He just gained another rival for Hinata's heart.

Chapter Text

Tanaka Ryuunosuke he's often with the freak duo before the official practice starts, opening and closing the gym for the two players, watching them bicker and helping them clean the gym. 

Nishinoya Yuu well it took some time to get him back to the team again but it's obvious to anyone's eyes that he's quite fond of the mute boy. Like an older brother or twin brother to be exact teaching the boy his secret moves and trying to share the magazines with him too which daichi found out and burned to crisps.

It's a typical after practice walk with the team Shōyō bickering with Kageyama over some nonsense win or lose games. Tsukishima added fuel to the flame to irritate Kageyama more, Yamaguchi snickering at the three first years. Tanaka and Nishinoya talking about the new uniforms from other schools, kinoshita, Narita and Ennoshita talking about assignments. Suga, Daichi and Asahi are planning when to study for the upcoming entrance exams for their college. 

When Tanaka had a great idea with Nishinoya "HEYYYY Hinata, who's your favourite senpai between me and Noya bro?" 

Hinata and Kageyama had stopped bickering when Tanaka asked the question and made Hinata stop walking and actually think.

"I mean at first it's Tanaka senpai your know he's always helping me and bakayama before, But also there's Noya senpai buying me ice cream when he's on a good mood so i think you two are my favourite " Hinata signs while Tsukishima translates it made the team coo that Hinata seems to favour the two second years. Tanaka being proud of himself and Nishinoya promising to buy him extra ice cream next time.

It was a random Saturday without practice, Hinata decided to accompany his older sister to the mall to meet up with some friends. While they're looking for some clothes Hinata also wanders around the mall to look for a gift for his mom's birthday.

Looking at some perfumes he noticed that somebody keeps glancing at him that sends shivers at his back. He decided to push the thought away and moved to the scarf section, while checking the fabric someone tapped his shoulder that made him jump.

"Hello I noticed you earlier, sorry for startling you. I'm Fujimura Hise. Can I just ask if I can get your number? I'm fascinated by you" Shōyō's dumbfounded. This isn't the first time someone asked him about his number but this is definitely the first time they're this straight forward. He pulled out his notepad and pen to start writing "sorry but i don't give my numbers to strangers" He gave the letter to the man and started walking away fast.

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

"Ryu wake up. Let's go to the mall. I need new sets of tank tops, RYU!" Saeko is shouting at his younger brother who's still sleeping. Saeko is Tanaka's older sister who also graduated from Karasuno high.

"Wake up Ryuu, WAKE UP" Saeko threw the pillow on his brother's face making him groan.

Tanaka painfully got ready before his sister started to drag him by feat at the mall. After getting ready, his sister drives to pick up Noya and goes to the mall. 

"Wooohhh so many pretty girls today broo" Nishinoya excitedly looks around both of them started scanning the surroundings while following Saeko.

"Heyy look at that cute purple top let's go" Saeko drag the two inside the store, while she's looking at the clothing rack. The two second year spotted a familiar orange hair boy walking like walking fast.

"Ehhhhh isn't that Shōyō?" Nishinoya pointed

"EHHHHH It is Hinata what is he doing here alone, let's go call him" Tanaka said. 

They went out of the store and they saw Hinata walking to them while staring at the floor seemingly trying to look at his surroundings worriedly. He didn't notice his two senpai's and bumped into them (well don't blame him ok? He's clumsy and always and will always bump into people).

"Ehhh Hinata are you alright? You bumped into Noya a little hard" Tanaka checked at the boy who's on the floor helping him to get up. Hinata just nodded, he's too in distress to sign. At this moment he looked behind him and saw the man going near him, he immediately ran behind Tanaka to hide.

"HEY you know it's rude to suddenly run while still talking-"

"NEH And who are you?" Nishinoya squinted at the guy glaring and scanning the guy up and down. Brown short hair, blue polo shirt and black pants with glasses looks like around 20-23 years old. 

"Yeah who are you? And what's your business with our kohai?" Tanaka also asks more aggressively, he knows that this man is definitely following Hinata. It's Hinata's instinct to hide behind Tanaka or someone taller when he feels intimidated or afraid.

"Oh do you know him? I was just asking for his number and-" The guy's sentence was cut off by Tanaka. "And why do you need his number? Who the hell do you think you are?" 

"YEAH are you trying to stalk our underclassmen hUGH?" Noya added and pointed at the guy with irritation on his face. 

"Well let me finish first, I just want to know pretty boy name here" Well that definitely made Hinata shiver, Tanaka will never ever ever hit someone when not needed he will calm his nerves by hitting a volleyball instead but in this situation that won't help at all. Nishinoya, despite his height and his also sun like personality will never hit someone(maybe eating them) first but hearing that nickname triggers something inside him.

"What did you call him??" Tanaka asked him to repeat calmly to really hear if he heard him right. Nishinoya clasps his fist so hard that his knuckles are starting to turn white. Hinata behind them pale as a ghost from the nickname, on the verge of crying.

"I said give me this Pretty fuck boys number-" Tanaka and Nishinoya jumped on him.

Saeko who's paying for her five sets of new clothes noticed that his two idiotic little brothers and self adopted brother are gone. She sighed and noticed the commotion outside, when she heard Tanaka yelling she ran outside to see the situation.

Hinata tried to get help from the mall guards while Tanaka punched the guys jaw and Nishinoya jumped on the guy biting his shoulder.

"OH MY GOD RYU AND NOYA WHAT THE HELL STOP" Saeko shouted and tried to separate the two from the unknown man.

" THIS FUCKER IS HARASSING HINATA" Tanaka yelled at his sister while she drag him a side. 

"YEAH THIS SON OF A BITCH CALLING SHOYO NAMES HOW DARE HE '' Nishinoya is also shouting next to Tanaka where Saeko is holding back both of them. Hinata finally returned with the guards the said man is now on the floor trying to get up while the guard goes near him to stop him from running away"

"SHŌYŌ where have you been? You're not answering your phone" A girl walks up to Shōyō who's a great replica of the latter.

"sorry i had run into some problems" 

"Are you ok?" 

"Yeah Tanaka senpai and Nishinoya senpai saved me" 

"Oh my god what happened" She asked and saw her brother run beside the two highschoolers. 

"Do you know them?" 

"Yeah translate for me nee-chan please?" Natsu sigh and nodded. The two men are now on the floor too with bloody noses and some bruises on their face too. 

"Sorry i caused you trouble Tanaka san and Noya san, are you two ok? Should we take you to the hospital?" Hinata signs 

"We're good Shōyō just need to iced this" Noya trying to keep his breathing flow back to normal said. While Tanaka just nodded at his bro's words, he's too angry to talk right now.

"What has gotten into you two jumping on that man huh?" Saeko asked in distress 

"I already said he was harassing Shōyō" Tanaka answered this time with still irking his tone. 

"Did that man hurt you Shōyō?" Natsu asked, checking his brother up and down. "No thanks to the two of them" 

"Thank God, by the way I'm Hinata Natsu Shōyō's sister. Thank you two for protecting him" She goes near them to check them for injuries.

"Hello I'm Tanaka Saeko, this idiot sister, this is Tanaka Ryuunosuke and Nishinoya Yuu Hinata's uppermanclass and Volleyball teammates," Saeko introduces. 

"Oh your injuries are just minor, let's buy some medicine to apply and let me treat you for lunch as a thank you for protecting my little brother" Natsu offered that made the two boys seem a little calm.

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

They're at the ramen shop just finished eating. Tanaka and Noya telling funny stories to their older sisters they seemed to have forgotten what just happened and Shōyō turning red while talking about Tsukishima's protectiveness.

"That kids have been that since he showed up to our house" Natsu commented and made Saeko laugh "He's like Yuu never left Ryu's side since forever" the two sisters giggled. The two women just keep talking about college and different brands of clothings, lost in their own little world too.

"Thank you for today Tanaka senpai And Noya senpai you two are incredible and you two will remain my favourite senpai ever" Hinata handed them two separate notepads with neutral colour and little feathers designs.

"you're also our favourite kohai Shōyō" Noya jumped at Hinata for a hug, also dragging Tanaka. Natsu and Saeko just snapped a photo of the three boys. 

Hinata also promised to treat his senpai for extra meat bun after practice.

Oikawa Tooru Aoba johsai's captain, official setter and of course he's the Seijoh's brain, known for maxing everyone's ability to the finest he knows how to handle every skill that a player has. He plays the team like how he plays chess knowing each position knowing which step to move for the right check. He's also known for his ace service that are hard to receive for years he works so hard to improve .

With that he is quite popular with his charisma and flirty personality. It's not surprising that he has many admirers wherever he goes. He enjoys the attention and the love that he's receiving but sometimes the backlash is real pain in the ass. 

There were times when his fans watched aoba johsai's practice and kept disrupting the practice flow that the coach banned Oikawa's fans from watching the practices.

And that times are happening right now Oikawa's fan following him while he's supposed to meet with his sister, not wanting to disrupt his sister's private life by his obsessive fans he made a run. (Which is not the greatest idea he has)

"Heh I think i lost them" Oikawa mutters while panting, he goes inside a comboni shop. Hiding behind the freezing fish section.

"Oikawa-senpai" Oikawa jumped at a girl with short black hair calling him from behind.

"Oh hello there" He greeted with a smile.

"What are you doing here, senpai?" Oikawa exhaled he's thankful that the girl isn't part of those crazy fans. He noticed she's wearing a uniform "I guess she works here," he thought.

"I'm just looking around-" He freezes in front of him is the infamous Chibi-chan from karasuno that he met a few months before at their practice match.

"Isn't that Shrimp interesting Iwa-chan?" He said while both him and Iwaizumi walked back home.

"Definitely with Kageyama-kun they make a great pair trashy-kawa" Iwa replied not really caring about his friends thoughts.

"I'm kinda down, didn't have a chance to talk to him, he's such a cutie" Oikawa coo but Hajime hit him with the volleyball ball he's holding.

"The fuck are you planning crappykawa?" 

"Oww Iwa-chan I just complimented the shrimp nothing more" Oikawa whining while touching the back of his head. He heard his best friend sighed before speaking again "Sawamura said that the little guy is mute so better stop any stupid ideas inside your head crappykawa" 

That caught Oikawa off guard; he's definitely more interested in the little shrimp of karasuno.

"I'm here with my boyfriend," Oikawa blurted at the girl who caught the latter off hand. Oikawa goes beside Shōyō and puts his arms around the red haired shoulder. The latter just confusingly looked at Seijoh's captain.

"Oh there you are Honey I've been looking for you, see you around " Oikawa didn't wait for the girl's response he dragged Shōyō away from her. The latter is busy writing on his little notepad while Oikawa drags him around to hide from the crowd.

"Sorry for the trouble chibi-chan you save me from my fans" Oikawa spoke and pat Hinata's head lightly then the latter handed him a mint green notepad. 

"Grand king, you caught me off guard there. Nice seeing you here, what are you doing here?" 

"Ohh i was just running some errands with my older sister and i didn't know my fans will found out about it, I'll be dead when iwa-chan found out that i'll be ditching practice because of this" Oikawa sighed he saw Shōyō just grinning then he was given a note again by the ginger. 

"When is your practice? Since I cover you today, can I ask for a favour? please let me use your kitchen to bake" 

"My practice doesn't start until 2 in the afternoon, of course Chibi-chan you can definitely use my kitchen this is your basket right? Let's go to the cashier. I'll pay for it" Hinata tried to stop Oikawa from paying for his groceries but the brunette insisted that he could pay and he didn't mind. 

"Ok then let's go to my house" He held Hinata's hand and walked south to his house.

"We're heree" Oikawa sang.

Shōyō noticed it's a big house. You can definitely say it's passed the middle class but still has the Japanese style in it. His thoughts were cut by Oikawa pulling him inside the said house. 

"No one's home right now feel free to move around chibi-chan, if it's not rude to ask why bake at my house chibi-chan?" Oikawa asked while putting the groceries at the kitchen counter.

"Well I actually just wanna hang out with the grand king and my house is far away from here so I can't really invite you over," Shōyō wrote on the notepad and handed it to Touroo.

"Ohhhh i see i see no worries chibi-chan you're in great care" 

Oikawa and Hinata started preparing the ingredients to bake cookies. It took them two hours to finally finish the cookies, Shōyō actually baked two one pure chocolate flavour and original flavour with melted marshmallows on top, they made for dozens Hinata boxed it.

"You can give these to your team Oikawa-san, for appreciation for lending me your kitchen" Shōyō handed Oikawa two boxes of two dozens of cookies. Oikawa grinned at the notepad that he got "well if you don't mind chibi-chan you can actually go to practice with us so you know you can give these to them personally" Oikawa said that made the ginger's eyes shine and nod excitedly.

Touroo and Shōyō started cleaning up the best that they've made. Touroo just staring at the ginger on his left who's washing the dishes, he's greatly mesmerised by the view of Hinata wearing a mint green apron with "oikawa" embroidery in front symbolising that the apron the latter's wearing belonged to the Oikawa family. It fits him comfortably a little big for his size but it made his eyes pop more. Oikawa was busy staring at the boy's long orange eyelashes and with his brows furrowed, focusing on washing the dishes. 

Oikawa's thoughts were cut off by Shōyō grabbing the man's hand. "Your finger is bleeding" Shōyō quickly wrote and held a tissue on the said injury. Oikawa may or may not have forgotten about the kitchen knife he is washing while staring at the boy beside him. He didn't feel the pain the little cut made to his index finger. It's just small but still bleeding. 

"Oh- the first aid kit is on that drawer chibi-chan" Oikawa pointed at the drawer above Shōyō's. After sitting down Shōyō busies himself treating Oikawa's wound while his face is clearly scolding the latters clumsiness. 

"He'll definitely made a good wife" Oikawa thought, he didn't know he said it out loud making the ginger face burst into different shades of redness. That reaction slap Oikawa hard, harder than Iwaizumi's punches on his back. Now Hinata is squatting down hiding a red face buried in his palm but you can still see the redness on his ears. Oikawa is a spluttering mess. He didn't know what to do if he should apologise or go besides Hinata to comfort him.

"You're a very unexpected man Grand king" He signed. Oikawa didn't know what it meant, accepting the fact that Hinata was probably cursing him.

Shōyō finally got up and held Oikawa's arms and spelled at his skin "thank you you'll make a great husband too" Welp let's just say Oikawa melted from that.

"where the fuck is he?!" Iwaizumi cursed while waiting for their captain to arrive. It's been an hour since practice started but they felt like their Captain ditched them. 

"What is he doing so important that he's ditching practice?" Hanamaki said while practising spiking and blocking with Issei.

"He's probably getting laid off" Issei answered.

"In the middle of the day?!" Kindaichi added, looking so shocked. "He'll probably even do it at 12 noon no doubt," Kunimi added while throwing the ball for kindaichi.

"Shut up guys we don't know, maybe he's just having troubles with his fans-" Yabaha's statement was cut short by the bang of their gym door. It's their captain finally arriving at one piece with someone besides him.

"where were you trashykawa Practice started an hour ago don't tell me you're getting laid off-" Iwaizumi didn't even finished his sentence when he look besides the standing Oikawa it's the ginger from Karasuno. "What is he doing here?" He asked while Oikawa just shrugged.

"He's just passing by dropping off these freshly made cookies from my house to have you all tasted it right Sho-chan?" Oikawa asked the little crow and he just responded with a happy nodding while he gave the two boxes to Iwaizumi. With the note stuck on it 

"sorry for bothering your captain today this is peace offering from me"

Love Shōyō

After giving the box Hinata waved goodbye at Oikawa before going out of the gym to head home. Oikawa hugged him one more time and sent him off while the whole team just watched their interaction eating the cookies.

"These are pretty good i love the marshmallows" Yahaba said while munching 

"Did you kidnap him shittykawa do you want karasuno to murder us?" Iwaizumi questions his best friend while eating too. 

"Ehhh just be grateful that i shared his homemade cookies iwa-chan" Oikawa whined

"Are fucking the Karasuno's number 10 Captain?" Kunimi just casually asked "i support your relationship with him since the cookies are great"

“NO?! WHAT ARE YOU ON KUNI-”

"I agree the cookies are great and that carrot heads kinda a great kid too"

"What the fuck kunimi"

"Oikawa's a dead man"

"Be careful on your way home Oikawa-san the crows are probably watching you"

Hinata Shōyō he isn't really great at keeping his tabs checked but once in a while he'll look at the messages he receives on his phone. Today the messages are flowing like crazy on his cellular phone that forced him to check it before entering the showers. He is getting ready for a practice match set by Takeda-sensei before the nationals. He tilted his head while reading the many messages he received.

hey Hinata don't forget to take your jacket before heading out it's extra cold today take care.

Hinata frown then smiled at the certain message he got when he saw the nickname he put. He immediately typed a response before putting his phone down and getting in the showers.

After showering, getting his equipment ready and eating breakfast, Shōyō said farewell to his mother and headed with his bike to the Karasuno high. He almost forgot his jacket, he actually forgot his jacket but he had an extra jacket on his bag, that he should be returning on a certain person today. The jacket is too big for his body size with a rich maroon and black color scheme with a little tag on the left. The jacket gave hinata a sweater paw, but also protected him from the cold.

Before arriving at the school he took the jacket off and put it inside his duffle bag then he headed off towards the changing room. He saw Kiyoko on the way and signed good morning to her. 

"good morning too Hinata-kun how are you?" She smiled while both of them walked together.

"I'm doing good senpai thank you for asking how about you? Is Tanaka-san and Noya-san giving you a hard time?" He wrote at his purple notepad and handed it to Kiyoko. The manager smiled while reading the note he received.

"I'm alright you boys are handful but easy to handle" She bid farewell to Hinata before also entering the girls changing room. 

Hinata opened the door and saw Tanaka already changing.

"Oh Hinata good morning" 

"Good morning too Tanaka-senpai" he signed and started changing too. A minute later Kageyama arrived frowning that the orange hair won the race but ignored it and started changing too so they can practice their quick attack.

Kageyama is not that good at noticing or reading a persons emotions but he can see that Hinata is radiating or glowing with happiness. The small smile in his lips can be seen, he's almost giddy when moving. The difference with his energetic personality is today he's incredibly calm and almost very smooth when moving. Kageyama just frown and ignored it, thirty minutes later the others arrived too.

"Hey Kageyama isn't Hinata a little bit too happy today?" Sugawa standing behind the raven haired boy asked. The latter looked at the said boy "yup he's still beaming even earlier that idiot is cheery" He answered.

"Hmm why do you think he's happy about?" His senpai squinted and pouted at the different scenarios why Hinata is so happy.

"I dunno that idiot can be happy with anything" Kageyama just shrugged at his senpai. "Probably because it's our practice match later he's just excited" that answer made Sugawara smile and agreed at the other setter. 

"I guess he didn't tell them about it huh?" Yamaguchi said after picking up what the two setters are talking about. 

"That idiot just let it all out to us without writing i think telling them that story will be too much, especially for the pea brain idiots (Tanaka, Nishinoya and Kageyama)" Tsukishima replied with an eye roll while staring at the other middle blocker who's happily signing who knows what to Daichi. 

"Yeah i guess so i had a hard time understanding his story too that time he's so excited with his new friend" Yamaguchi agreed remembering the time Hinata just blurted out he cuddled with someone unexpected that both him and Tsukishima was shocked about. 

"Hey bro im betting you 500 yen Shōyō's happy about something else that is not volleyball related" Nishinoya whisper yell at Tanaka. 

"What the hell noya that's just unfair betting, fine 500 yen he's excited something about volleyball " Tanaka barked at the smaller second year, that almost made Yamaguchi choked on the water his drinking he covered his mouth to stop himself from laughing out loud.

"What the fuck Yamaguchi are you trying to kill yourself?" Tsukishima scolded while patting Yamaguchi's back. 

"Gomen Tsukii"

"Listen up everybody the other team is arriving any minute now let's settle down and welcome them" Daichi alerted everybody after taking two hours break from practicing. Asahi and Suga chatting about the upcoming exams, the second years bickering about some stupid magazines and the first years talking about volleyball. 

"Hey aren't you a little to happy shrimp" Tsukishima signed alerting the orange head that it's a serious talk. 

"What do you mean?" Hinata tilted his head and pouted. That made the other duo looked back and forth at them.

"You're more annoying than usual" 

"Im not? What are you up to kei?" 

"Just sayin it's getting on my nerves"

"Is that so? Should i tone it down?" Hinata continued to signed but his phone on his left let out a ping. Making the whole gym pause, the team knows that Shōyō always kept his phones notification off because he told them that it gives him too much excitement hearing the ping. The orange head picked up his phone and opened the message, while the Karasuno watched his expression seriously.

To: Hinata Shōyō 

From: Big Bear ʕ⁠·⁠ᴥ⁠·⁠ʔ

We're near there, ecstatic to see you.

The sudden burst of sunshine and energy hit the whole gym. Sugawara covering his eyesight beside him are Daichi who's squinting and Asahi who's long dead while Kiyoko just smiled a little at the sight. The second years take it just as well as Tanaka and Nishinoya with their sunglasses that have been named "Sunshine On Work". They have already prepared it when Shōyō is too much wholesome and their eyes can't take it. The first years where Tsukishima is blind, Yamaguchi and Yachi are dead, Kageyama is just a straight up statue. 

"That's blinding" They all thought.

After recovering from the overdose of daily sunshine, Tsukishima is the first one to talk to Hinata. 

"Who's that?" Kei asked not minding the stares that his team gave.

"it's-" Before answering Shōyō's stop moving the door flew open and who's entering their gym?

It's 

Shitorizawa.

Immediately Shōyō didn't waste anytime and got up from the cold floor they're sitting and he ran towards the other team. He jumped while the team captain easily catches him and hugged the smaller boy.

"What a great greeting you gave chibi-chan" Tendou snickers behind his best friend.

"HEYYYY get off our captain" Goshiki said while staring at the situation.

"Don't be too hard on the child Goshiki" Roen chuckling while patting the first year's shoulder.

"You mean don't bully Ushijima's sweetheart?" Semi smirking at the view of their captain greeting the crow.

"Well that nickname is still annoying as ever" Shirabu scoffed at Semi. While the rest just really had enough of stunt their captain pulled though their coach isn't here today since he ditched everybody else to watch a game with his buddy their assistant coach is already having a headache.

"What the actual fuck is happening?" 

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

"What the actual fuck is happening?" Sugawara angrily looking for answers at his teammates. It's not like none of them knows but Tsukishima didn't really expect that Shōyō would be that close to that guy.

"Why is Shōyō hugging the enemy?!" Noya shockingly stated while Tanaka is too speechless to talk.

"I didn't know they'd be that close" Yamaguchi sighed at the sight.

"OI HINATA BOKE YOU CAN'T JUST JUMPED ON THEM" Kageyama yelled to get the attention of the ginger.

That did in fact work Ushijima finally let go of Shōyō and hold the latter's wrist. He drag Hinata in front of his teammates then said "I would like to bring Hinata Shōyō to Shitorizawa"

"Did i heard that right?" Sugawara blinked then his brain finally circuited. "BRING HINATA? TO WHERE?"

"RESPECTFULLY SAYING I'LL KILL YOU" Tanaka shouted while Nishinoya and Yamaguchi tries to pin him down.

"Hinata is already part of our team Ushijima-san" Daichi with his vein noticeably popping on his temple.

"Shōyō is ours so back off" Tsukishima glared at the captain's remarks while also trying to grab Shōyō back to their teammates.

"Toshi sorry but i have to decline that offer im already part of Karasuno they're my family. We can schedule to hang out or a day tour on Shitorizawa even a practice with your teammates. Please don't take it too hard" Shōyō handed Ushijima the note that made the captain make an emotions on his face seen. It's like seeing a passing meteor it's that rare to see ushijima genuinely smiling. 

The taller man pat Hinata's head and returned to his teammates after. Karasuno is fuming by the tactics Shitorizawa's captain pulled off.

"How are you even that close to Ushijima Hinata?!" Sugawara asked while inspecting Hinata. 

"Yeah boke Why are you being so touchy with that guy?!" Kageyama with his undeniable short temper at the ginger. Hinata sighed and recalled what really happened.

"Hey isn't this close to Shitorizawa?" Kageyama muttered while looking at their unknown surroundings. Shoyo just exhaled at that thought they're lost while it's raining.

"Maybe we should contact Daichi-san about this?" He passed the note to Kageyama, who's near shivering on the cold air that's been blowing with the rain.

"My phone's dead idiot what about yours?" Kageyama tapping his phone not noticing a shadow figure appearing behind him. Hinata too stunned to alert just pointed behind Kageyama and signed. 

"JAPAN?!" 

"Eh? Japan?" Kageyama is also learning the basic jsl to communicate easily with Hinata. He looked behind him and saw it is Japan or Ushijima Wakatoshi of Shitorizawa who they beated a few months ago.

"Nice to see you here Hinata Shōyō, Kageyama Tobio" Wakatoshi greeted while holding an umbrella. Kageyama and Hinata bowed Kageyama took the liberty to explained that they got lost again while running and it started raining so they can't go back yet. 

"It's getting dark if you want you can stay with our dormitory for the night" Ushijima offered while staring at the trembling middle blocker, the poor boys face is flushed with a glassy eyes and his hair is slightly damp. 

"If it doesn't bother you ushijima-san thank you" Kageyama bowed again. 

Ushijima walked with them before the rain got worst. They arrived at his dormitory not that wet, he introduced the rooms and point where the bathrooms are. He lend the two clothes the first on to jump on the showers is Kageyama while Hinata wait and Ushijima offering him tea.

"Oh whatcha got there Ushi?" Tendou peered at the two boys. "Good evening to you too Tendou you know him right? From Karasuno-" Ushijima didn't finished his sentence when Tendou goes beside Shōyō.

"Ohhh the little shrimpy what are you doing here with the legendary Ushijima?" Tendou wiggles his brows while smirking at the blushing boy.

"He cannot speak Tendou and his little notes are wet from the rain give him a break." Ushijima's booming voice straightened the red hair. "Your no fun Ushi just wanted to hang out with the Chibi" Before Tendou can exist Ushijima's dorm he was stopped by the latter with a serious face.

"Tendou can i ask you a favor?"

"So the shrimp will be staying with you and the setter with me? I see no problem semi-semi's not with me at the moment so it's perfect what about you? You only have a single bed" Tendou said with a smug then nudge on Ushijima's shoulder.

"I can sleep on the floor" Ushijima used his friend's stunt and just bluntly said it. He felt a thug on his shirts hem it's Hinata handing him a little note. Ushijima stared at the smaller boy who had just gotten out of the shower and was wearing Ushijima's first year jersey with the towel on his head. 

"Don't worry about me Ushijima-san i can sleep on the floor im not that delicate you've done enough for us. Thank you" 

Tendou sensed that he already no longer needed and bounced out while chuckling at his friends reaction. "I should've taken a pic" He whispered.

"i see we should dry your hair come" Ushijima lightly drag the boy inside and grabbed the towel after Hinata sat down on the studying chair. Ushijima started drying Hinata's hair noticing the rain getting loud and the latter's eyes drifting away. 

A loud boom echoed in the dormitory Hinata who's sitting on the chair is found on Ushijimas torso, face on the taller mans chest and trembling like a leaf. It took a full minute till Ushijima recover from Hinata's action and it sunk into him.

"Hinata Shōyō are you afraid of the thunders?" Wakatoshi asked with pure curiosity, he held and lifted Shōyō's chin and saw a crying ginger. 

"Calm down let's get you settled on the bed then we can talk" Wakatoshi tried to walk to his bed no use Shōyō just stick with him. Leaving him with no other choice he carried the ginger to bed.

Wakatoshi didn't joined Shōyō to bed but he got up and get some pens and papers for Hinata. He sat on the edge of the bed and handed Hinata the materials.

"Don't worry if it's just you want to talk about it" Shōyō nodded while Ushijima watched the window. After five minutes he felt a small tug Hinata is handing him a paper. 

"So sorry Ushijima-san the thunder gave me the scare because when I was six I got into an accident while there's a thunderstorm. The doctors said it's just my mental trauma that I had. Sorry for the trouble again, sorry you had to see me like this." Ushijima sighed softly and couldn't contain it any longer. He patted the ginger's hair. 

"You don't have to apologize on what you cannot control Hinata Shōyō" after saying that he saw the boy writing again. "Hey you should stopped calling me with my full name Ushijima-san call me Shōyō" 

"Then i suppose I should you Shōyō"

 The night deepens and thunderstorms arrived, Ushijima who's finally laying down beside the shaking middle blocker can't take it anymore. 

"Shōyō can't sleep? Do you want me to provide comfort?" Startled by the older men, Shōyō faced him and snuggled closely while sharing one blanket. Ushijima put his arm on Shōyō's head as a pillow and to pull the boy closer, a few minutes later the boy's breathing finally calmed and he finally fell asleep.

After that night Wakatoshi will always hang out with Shōyō when it's his free time. Asking him out to try new cafes and visit different parks. Their bond became closer behind everyone's back.

One Training Ushijima's phone rang that made the whole Shitorizawa pause from practicing all focused on who's calling their captain. 

"I need to answer this continue the practice excuse me" Ushijima existed the gym and proceeded to answer the call. While the whole Shitorizawa still didn't recover from their captain taking a break for a phone call.

"Bet he got a girlfriend" Semi broke the silent.

"Ushijima-san having a girlfriend? That seems impossible" Goshi replied while holding his chin and imagining his captain with a girl.

"Yeah the guy is practically married to volleyball" Reon joked that made the third years laugh.

"Not a girlfriend probably his sweetheart calling him" tendou spilled the whole team went silent again. 

"SWEETHEART?!?!"

"So captain do have a girlfriend?"

"Is she pretty?"

"A volleyball player too?"

"Is she from Shitorizawa?!"

"enough enough i didn't say it's his girlfriend it's his sweetheart the Karasuno's decoy they hang out quite often-" Tendou sentence was cut by Goshiki shrieking "USHIJIMA-SAN'S DATING THAT SHRIMPY?!" 

"What are talking about Goshiki?" That booming voice from behind, they saw their captain entering the gym once again.

"Ehhhh watcho yo got their miracle boy?" Tendou goes to Ushijima noticing a small figure behind his friend.

"Invited him to hang out after practice but their practice ended earlier than us" Ushijima explained, still confusing the team who he was talking about. When Tendou peakes behind him he was stoned.

"EHHHHHHH shrimpy?" 

"SO YOU ARE DATING HIM USHIJIMA?!"

Well that question didn't end well, Ushijima punished his whole team by doing 30 laps because of snooping around his private life while he enjoys his time hanging around Shōyō.

"Toshi don't be too hard on them" Shōyō gave Ushijima a maroon notepad while walking out on the street. 

"Hmn apologies but it's the consequence of their nosy behaviour" Ushijima replied he noticed that Shōyō was shivering. He opened his bag and handed Hinata his jacket, the latter recognised the jacket and immediately wrote.

"Hey, isn't that jacket on the magazine?!" Ushijima chuckled at the little note and nodded. "Just returned it to me soon" Hinata happily wears the jacket that night.

"We just hang out a lot," Hinata wrote on his notepad and went to Tsukishima, ignoring his teammates' state. 

"Well we definitely need to put a protection team in place for him" Sugawa sighed while Asahi and Daichi nodded at the idea.

"He's collecting people like a Pokémon," Nishinoya laughed."

After the practice match, Karasuno walked out on Shiratorizawa. Ushijima was the last one to enter the bus when he was stopped by Shōyō. The boy handed him the jacket it's his japan jacket, he gently smiled at the ginger and took the jacket but put it in the latter's shoulder.

"You should keep it as soon as I can. I'll buy a ring for you" Ushijima said before entering the bus leaving Hinata confused and karasuno angry.

"Watch your head, Miracle boy Karasuno's pretty pissed on ya" Tendou chuckled.

"They should watch Shōyō not me, he'll come to me. You're invited to my wedding though Tendou" Wakatoshi replied.

"I can't believe this guy," Tendou thought.
