Work Text:

“Why are you being so stubborn? I mean, what’s with this, broody teenager mode you have been eves since I picked you up from Lothal?”

Ahsoka had had it, officially!

The surly glances, the overall mood of Sabine’s finally getting to the non-Jedi.

Sabine was sitting at the console table, playing with something she had picked up randomly. The urge to chuck the object against the wall or preferably Ahsoka’s face was high on her list at the moment. But she kept on fidgeting with it without acting. Squeezing the object in her hands, perhaps willing it to break? Then at least Ahsoka would have something else to pick on than what Sabine’s current mood was!

Sabine simply gave Ahsoka a sideways scowl, not even bothering to answer her. As what was there to explain? Huh? Didn’t Ahsoka get her, at all? Only returning her attention to whatever it was she was toying with at the moment with full force. Puns intended.

“You’re going to break that karking thing!”

Ahsoka rarely used harsh language, but guess she had hung around the Ghost crew not to mention Hera for a tad too long, picking up some of their bad manners. Not that anyone was complaining about it. The cussing at least.

Sabine stopped her action, her eyes back on Ahsoka. If looks could kill…

Ahsoka stared right back at Sabine. With her meanest stare she could muster plastered on. As Ahsoka was not about to back off nor to loose this fight. No siree! Uh-uh!! Not this time!!!

They had clashed, butted heads, had words ever since they had reunited after some time having been spent apart. Not that it had been a happy reunion by far. The reasons behind them not having any contact… Well, too painful and too much to go through at the moment. But true, they had unresolved issues between them for sure.

As in Ahsoka’s mind, well, she had made her choice to stay away from Sabine, to not be her mentor any more because she wanted to protect Sabine. As to the why and from whom? Well, guess that too was still unclear. To both of them it seemed.

But Ahsoka had apologised hadn’t she? Told Sabine she was sorry?

Had she meant it?

Well, guess, to some extent even if Ahsoka did not feel the need to explain her actions nor reasons further despite Sabine’s constant nagging of the same.

Sabine kept on playing with her toy, while Ahsoka kept on pacing around her.

The silence, the glances, the frustrated sighs let out by both, even the nervousness around them kept on growing until the point when…

… Ahsoka stopped, reached out and grabbed the object right off of Sabine’s hands.

“Hey!”

“What?”

“Give it back!”

“No!”

“What the kark is wrong with you?”

“Me? You’re the one acting all teenagy!”

“That’s not even a word.”

“Sure it is. Look it up!”

“I will. See going… to look it up!”

Sabine was up and headed to the table where the data-pads were kept.

Just as she passed Ahsoka though, she stopped, turned and tried to grab the toy back from Ahsoka.

The two slapped, tapped and grabbled for a moment before Sabine lost her footing. Falling smack onto the floor with Ahsoka in tow. The non-Jedi landing right on top of Sabine as they stumbled down, Sabine on her back lying with Ahsoka flushed against her.

Staring at each other in surprise for a long, long moment. Both shocked and …. Something else passing between them suddenly.

Electricity.

Sabine’s eyes darted on Ahsoka’s face, her eyes, her lips…

Ahsoka could not tear her eyes off of Sabine even if she wanted to. Not that she did. Want to. Licking her lips in the process.

“Wot?”

“Nuttin.”

But then, Sabine too licked her lips and Ahsoka could not take it any more.

Ahsoka’s lips were on Sabine’s so fast, so hungry, so everything.

Their mouths clashing, their first kiss shared hardly a timid thing as Sabine was certainly responding in kind. Her tongue demanding entrance, a small duel of tongues ensuing before Ahsoka yielded, letting Sabine have her way.

They must’ve kissed for what seemed like an eternity. The real need for air the only thing making them break apart.

Panting heavily, forehead against the others, holding onto each other for dear life, they still lay there where they had fallen from their ever so brief fight.

“So, that happened.”

“Yeah.”

“Regrets?”

Ahsoka was surprised from the question, her eyes finding Sabine’s again.

“No. I… guess I have wanted to do that for a long time.”

“Yeah? Me too.”

Ahsoka let a soft chuckle slip out just then.

“Why… why haven’t you said anything before?”

Sabine was sure she had tried to.

Then again, her rebellious streak against Ahsoka most likely having been her way of avoiding the subject matter all together. That she really, really liked Ahsoka. Wanted to kiss her too, among other things.

“I… guess I thought you didn’t like me this way. Ya know, being my mentor and all?”

Ahsoka sighed.

Guess that had been the thing hindering her from acting on her feelings. The Jedi rules however did not apply to her any more. And even if she was or had been Sabine’s mentor, well, they weren’t children any more. So in essence, Ahsoka was running out of excuses.

“I guess there is still some Jedi left in me after all.”

Sabine knew all about the Jedi code. Then again, Kanan had never let those codes bother him. And Ahsoka claimed not be be one, so… there was that? Right?

“What about now?”

“Now… well, things are different. You and I, are different.”

Ahsoka pondered their situation for a moment longer before coming to a decision.

“I think… it is time to put the past behind us finally. The Jedi, the fights… and concentrate, on us. That is if you are willing?”

Sabine was surprised.

Her mood certainly having done a one-eighty. But this, having her, dreams, her fantasies come true suddenly? Whom was she to argue against that?!

Sabine did not answer the question verbally rather reached behind Ahsoka’s head and drew her in. Close enough she could touch Ahsoka’s lips. Kissing her softly, probingly, wantonly, a long kiss before breaking off again.

“Does that answer your question?”

“It does indeed.”

Ahsoka smiled, grinned most likely.

Leaning in for yet another kiss. After all, they had finally made it to the same page. Moving on from there should be easy enough?
