13 months and you’ve heard nothing from Pippin or Merry. If you ever saw those Hobbits again you would surely kill them.
13 months you have been waiting for them to come back home. It seems that all the other Hobbits in the shire completely forgot about them…every time you go to have a drink in the Green Dragon, it always seems more quiet than it should be. Normally, Merry would dance on a table and drunkenly sing some song that he would’ve make up on the spot. And then Pippin would start to dance. Pippin’s dancing would always make your heart flutter. Then Pippin would hold his hand out to you and invite you to dance along with Merry and him. Those were the nights that were the happiest.
But for the last 13 months, the Green Dragon was not fun for you anymore. There was no more drunken singing from Merry, no more adorable dancing from Pippin. No more taking Pippins soft and warm hand…Those were the worst months of your life. How could Pippin just leave you like that!?
You were walking to the market to get some fish, that was until you heard the sound of numerous Hobbits whispering to each other and staring in awe at something. You look trying to find exactly what was encapsulating the Hobbits so much. And that’s when you say them…Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Merry and Pippin, all of them on pony’s. Pippin and Merry are wearing fancy armor, all four of them seem to be battered up. What angers you though is the smug look on all the four of the Hobbits faces…Especially Pippin.
”Peregrine Took” You yell, “where in the bleeding hell did you go!?”
Pippin turns to find you, and once he does his eyes go wide. He jumps from his pony and runs to you.
“Oh Y/n I missed you so much!” Pippin says with a smile on his face
“what were you thinking?! Running off without telling anyone- Did you get taller? Why in the world are you wearing armor? Where did you even go?” You take a breath, “you have no idea how angry I am at you- and Merry as well!”
”I’m sorry, I wanted to send you a letter to let you know that I was alright” He shuffled his feet “But it was too dangerous to send one to you, please don’t be mad at me, Y/n”.
”it’s hard not to be mad at you right now Pip. Please never leave like that again. You or Merry! Do you have any idea how lonely it was without you?”
”I can only imagine how depressed the whole shire was at my sudden disappearance.” Pippin laughs “I know how much everyone loves me”
You roll your eyes, while Pippin looks a bit different, his humor has stayed exactly the same as you remember.
“I missed you Pip…I thought I would never see you again” you say looking into his eyes
”I missed you too Y/n. And don't worry, I’m back and I’m here to stay”
Pippin pulls you in for a hug. One arm he puts around your waist, while the other goes to your hair. His head buries itself on your shoulder. The hug seemed to last forever, but when you both let go. All you did was stare into each other’s eyes.
“Y/n” Pippin whispered in your ear, giving you goosebumps, “I thought about you every day.”
”so did I Pip”
pippin takes his hand and combs it though your hair, he moves his face close to yours, both of your noses are just barely touching each other’s. Pippin takes a breath, and then his lips touch yours. The kiss was quick, but it was also soft and tender. You both look at each other and giggle.
“I’ve wanted to do that for quite some time” you say giggling
“so have I Y/n” he smiles and gives you another kiss on the lips, this time longer and more passionate.
Before you could kiss a third time, your both interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat, you turn to see Merry
“You know, Pippin wasn’t the only person to have come back, where’s my welcome back” Merry says
you run over to Merry and give him a big hug, “I missed you too Merry, the Green Dragon would never be complete without you and your songs. We must celebrate both you and Pippins return to the Shire! We have lots to talk about!”
