Gandalf speaks of weariness. Galadriel of restraint and the temptation to control what she loves. Aragorn of feeling inadequate to the crown he must wear. Saruman of the first small compromise that reshaped his entire path. Frodo wonders who he might become beyond his wounds. Elrond thinks about what it means to lead for thousands of years — and what he loses when the burden is finally lifted. Even Melkor, in his rebellion, reveals something uncomfortable but necessary about freedom, pride, and the fragile line between wanting to create and needing to control.
Each chapter concludes with reflection questions — gentle invitations to consider how its themes intersect with your own experience.
Tolkien’s world has always belonged, in some deep sense, to those who love it. This is one reader’s attempt to give something back.

Summary
Boromir, son of Denethor, knows that he is blessed. He knows that he is lucky. He might well be the luckiest Man in Middle Earth, if you look at him from a certain direction. He has never doubted his luck, nor taken it for granted.
But Boromir is an omega, and that is where his luck begins to run out. As war threatens his home, he must hide his designation from everyone except for his little brother, and hope to hold Gondor together.
A trip to Imladris and a subsequent Fellowship will make that very difficult indeed. Can he keep his secret? Will he make it back to Minas Tirith? And most of all, can he keep his heart?
A certain alpha named Aragorn might make that last part almost impossible, in fact.

Although Frodo is cold, the touch they now have heats up his heart. “Sam,” Frodo starts. “Aye?” Sam hums. “I'm afraid to sleep. My dreamscapes are no longer dreams.” He admits.

Bilbo Baggins has been running away ever since… well, let’s just say that certain events from his past have left him heartbroken and fleeing to live abroad. That is, until he gets a phone call from an old friend that changes everything. Facing not only the challenge of taking care of his teenage nephew but also coming home to where his whole life fell apart, Bilbo is not sure if he’s up to the task. To top it all off, he keeps crossing paths with the infuriatingly handsome, tall berk that seems to be just as concerned about Frodo as everyone else in the small town.
Tired of running and trying his best to do the right thing, Bilbo finds that standing still is not as easy as one might expect. After all, once you open your heart to others, you risk getting it broken all over again. -

Mercy Goldenheart hadn't wanted to join the quest to destroy the One Ring, but somebody needs to protect Frodo and Bilbo is in no position to do so. They wander in Khâzad-dûm, Gandalf leading them through the huge kingdom. They reach a crossroads and while Gandalf tries to remember the way, Gimli and the Hobbits try to retell the quest to retake Erebor to the Men. Mercy gets roped into it and thinks of her husband.
Later in Lothlórien, after Gandalf has fallen, Gimli peers into the Lady Galadriel's mirror and sees a king long dead, whose voice he hears on the wind. He immediately tells Mercy who is less than pleased and then remembers who else is dead.
