Summary
After losing his master, Mairon, better known as Sauron, spends his days alone with the Orcs and Balrogs that remain with him. They try to make ends meet and look for allies in Númenor. That is, until a strange guest enters their lives. The boy comes from another world and knows everything there is to know about this world. However, fate has never been one to not have fun with people and has a few surprises in store for them. What if it turns out that the boy is not such a stranger in this world after all, in fact, quite the opposite? What if it turns out that the outer emptiness is not a punnishment, but a new chance? Old relationships are intertwined again, and the darkness regains its former glory.

Summary
Alduin is defeated and the Dragonborn is victorious, but her journey is not over.
Instead of being returned to Nirn, she is dropped into an unfamiliar world, bringing along little more than brimming resentment and bitter regrets.
Can she live in this world without bringing her darkness to it? Should she help the good souls that she meets in their fight against evil? Her time as a hero is done, after all, and the price levied for her victory still to be paid. Was there anything left for her to give, even if she did choose to help save this world that she didn't belong in?
During her travels in Middle Earth she will learn that some things are worth the sacrifice, that hope and love can ignite a spark that burns everything that opposes it.
But she will also be reminded that your shadow starts right at your feet, and some things cannot be escaped, even in another world.

“The Fellowship is to set out in December,” Lord Elrond explained, “I require your services as a Messenger to travel with them, until you’ve passed the mountains, or until Gandalf sees fit to release you.”
Panic coiled in Rhosynel’s chest, as two things became apparent. Firstly, that she could easily end up roped into travelling further on the whims of a wizard. And secondly, that if word reached her employer that she point-blank refused Lord Elrond, she’d be kicked from the Messenger services.
In other words, Rhosynel was trapped.*
Working as a messenger Rhosynel is accustomed to travelling the length and breadth of Middle Earth, so carrying a missive to the village of Bree should have been easy. But this simple task sets off a chain of events, entangling her in the lives of strangers and the fate of Middle Earth, which leaves her fighting to keep both them, and herself, alive.

A journey through healing, redemption, friendship - and a bit of revenge. Plus a very slow burn relationship. And a love-letter to my favourite orchestral instrument.
Inspired by ElrondScribe's brilliant Silmarillion music school AU.
No resemblance to any actual musicians intended, considerable liberties with my representation of the RNCM. Indeterminate time-frame: a bit like the Manchester of my teens (and its often unfortunate social attitudes); in other respects more up-to-date. The Mancunian rain is entirely accurate, however, and I make no apology for that.
