You lay in the grass, the wind blowing over your body, not enough to be cold, really, but to you it felt like glass being dug into your flesh, cutting into your skin and-
You're fine. Really. You're fine You're fine You're fine.
That last loop really threw you for a loop. Haha. Funny joke. You are so funny. But now that loop is gone. It's over. And it's over before he could tell you what he wanted to tell you.
In every loop, you always share a bed with Scar. Stupid Scar. He always sleeps without a shirt on. So very close to you. Not touching you though. Not once has he ever touched you. But every night he wakes you up (not that you sleep) and starts to tell you something. Then he chickens out and says he'll tell you once you've won against the king. He never does that either. Every single time he's been interrupted or chickens out.
It's driving you up a wall.
That last loop really got to you. You hadn't beaten the King in that loop. Usually you beat him no problem, but this time you messed up, got too confident, and you hadn't paid enough attention to what was going on. The King did his move that instantly killed your party. You could still feel the pain rushing through your body as you told Gem to run away, to not die, even as the King brought a massive fist down on your battered body.
Usually you would loop back at that point, but he didn't hit you quite as cleanly as he typically did. You were laying on the ground, bleeding out. Scar was next to you, in equally bad shape. You looked at him, tears in your eyes. He reached out towards you, but even on the verge of death, he refused to touch you.
Why won't he touch you?
It hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts.
You finally sit up. You needed to get back to it. It was time for you to go and save the world. You had to go and talk to Pearl and invite everyone to her sleepover. You had to go and see Gem and Mumbo. You had to go see Scar again…
You really didn't want to. Maybe you should just kill yourself and loop forward to the King again. But then… you wouldn't have as much time with your friends. Your family. You wanted to spend more time with them, even if it hurt.
So you go and talk to Pearl about her silly sleepover. You visit your friends, telling them one by one to meet at the clock tower. Finally, you go towards the Wishing Tree where The Secret Keeper and more importantly, Scar, wait for you.
Scar's standing there, like he always is, near a small boulder. He hardly notices you, lost in his own little world, until you are right in front of him.
“Scar.” You smile.
“G!” He jumps. He always jumps.
“Scar!” You yell back. Follow the script.
“G!” Scar is even louder.
This is how it always goes. “So, Scar. Have you made your wish at the tree?” He hadn't.
“Nope!” Scar said with a pop of his tongue. “I'm still thinking.”
“Really? But it's such a…” Pause for dramatic effect. “Tree-mendous tree!”
Scar laughs like he's never heard anything more amusing in his life. He reaches out his hand, like he's about to touch you.
He stops. His hand hovering next to your shoulder.
Now, you're not stupid. You know that Scar likes you. That's clearly what he's been trying to tell you in every loop. He won't say it though. He never says it no matter what. He won't tell you, he won't touch you.
Is it because he figured out that you are human trash?
Does he know how disgusting you are? That you are manipulating everyone every loop into doing what you want them to do? You are making him love you. There's no way that Scar would actually love you. There's no way…
You love him so much it hurts.
You can't take it anymore. This won't change unless you do something about it. You have to make the first move. You have to touch him. You have to touch him. You have to touch him.
You grab Scar by the front of his shirt and pull him towards you. You kiss him like you are desperate. You are desperate, but he's finally touching you and it's everything you ever wanted.
That is, until he pushes you away.
Scar is looking at you with horror in his eyes.
He didn't like that. He didn't want that.

You reach for the dagger in your pocket.

You loop back.
You never kissed him. It never happened.
You don't want to talk to Scar anymore. You barely whisper at him that you want to make a wish at the tree and he leaves. You leave as well to talk to The Secret Keeper, hating yourself with each step.
…
You still love Scar, though.
