Matt quietly walks out to the living room after the sound of the TV piques his interest. It's nearly 5 am and he just can't sleep.
"Hey," He says once he sees it's Chris.
Chris nods at him from the couch. He's under a blanket, the lights are off and he's got the Food Network on the TV.
"What are you doing up?" Matt asks once he makes his way to his younger brother.
"Couldn't sleep," Chris replies quietly.
"Same actually," Matt chuckles.
"Mind if I join you?" He adds as he gestures to Chris's blanket.
Chris nods and lifts his blanket so Matt can join him under it. They get comfortable and then decide to scoot over the ottoman for their feet. Once it's in its place, they settle into their spots.
A while later Matt nudges Chris's side. Chris knows that signal like the back of his hand so he quickly lifts his arm, allowing Matt to slip under and lie against his side. Matt sighs happily.
"We haven't properly cuddled in ages." He mentions as he looks up at his younger brother.
Chris laughs, "Yeah, I guess it has been a long time."
"I always wonder do people think it's weird that we cuddle sometimes, but then I'm like what's so weird about that I don't care you're my brother and I love you." He adds after a moment.
Chris can feel Matt nod his head against his side. He yawns soon after feeling this closeness bring him peace and relaxation.
"So what're we watching?" Matt asks as he glances up at the TV in front of them.
"Oh, It's guy's grocery games reruns. That guy has so many TV shows he must be so rich." Chris mentions.
Matt laughs, "Yeah, now that you mention it he does have a lot of TV shows."
A while later after the episode has ended and yet another has begun, Matt can hear Chris snoring softly beside him. He looks up at his sleeping face. It's so peaceful. Matt doesn't want to wake Chris up and tell him to go to bed, so he just snuggles further into his side and closes his eyes hoping for sleep to come.
Nick pads down the stairs quickly, eager to get some food in his system after being awake for almost an hour and chilling in his room. On his way downstairs he hears the TV. He assumes either Matt or Chris must be up already, but when he reaches the bottom step and turns the corner, he lays his eyes on his brothers passed out on the couch. Nick has no idea why they're both asleep on the couch and he doesn't want to ask, so he just minds his business and walks over to the kitchen to start making himself something for breakfast. The clock on the stove reads 8:48 am. Nick figures Matt or Chris will wake up soon and trudge to their bedrooms to get some more sleep, so he takes his breakfast upstairs with him once he's finished preparing it.
A while later, a beam of sunlight streaming through the window wakes Chris. He realizes where he is and what happened last night and chuckles to himself. Once he takes a look around he realizes he's completely alone again. He figures Matt must have woken up and gone to his room at some point while they were out here. Chris stands up and takes the blanket with him. He trudges down the hall to Matt's room and peaks through the door. Matt seems to be sound asleep so Chris takes it upon himself to enter. He carefully and quietly lies down on Matt's bed, settling in beside his older brother with the blanket spread over his lower half as best as he can. It's not long before he can feel his body relaxing and his brain drifting off. Sometimes if you can't sleep all you need is the comfort of those you love beside you.
