You were the shyest person in the class or even the whole school. The only person who you would talk to is Ash Ketchum. He was pretty popular and sometimes you wondered why he would even want to talk to you.
"Hi (Y/N)!" Ash waved at you as he was headed in your direction.
"Hi..." You were embarrassed to be seen with him. People might start to think that you guys were dating, you hang out that much. Even though Ash does most of the talking.
"Ash!" A girl ran over to him and hugged him. "I missed you yesterday!" She put her arm around him.
"Uh...Hi Serena!" Ash looked pretty uncomfortable. You wished you could do something.
Serena was the popular girl in school. She also bullied you sometimes, but you just dealt with it.
"What are they doing here?" She pointed at you.
"Oh, I was going to talk to her until YOU showed up!" He shrugged her arm off his shoulder and stood in front of you.
"What, are you friends with them or something?"
"Actually I am."
'And hopefully something else, too.'
She glared at you and spun around, heading towards her locker.
Ash turned around to face you. "Glad she's gone..."
"Yeah...Um, Ash?" Your face was red.
"Yeah?"
You kissed him on the cheek. "Thanks for sticking up for me."
He blushed. "N-No problem!"
You smiled at him and walked off.
Ash stood there with a blush on his face until Brock dragged him away. "Are you okay? Your face is red."
"Yeah..." He had a far-away look in his eyes.
Brock laughed a little to himself. ‘Yeah, he's definitely in love.’
