Summary

He had made a decision of his own. He’d touched the Mudblood. He’d fixed something for her. It might only have been a mascara stain, but it was one of only two things he’d ever fixed in his life and the only one that hadn’t then resulted in torture and bloodshed.
I’m going to do that again. Fix something, for Granger.
It was a decision. A choice. It was Draco’s and nobody else’s. No one would expect it of him, it wouldn’t be assumed that he’d help her. And that made it all the more precious. It meant that it was wholly his.
He couldn’t say how much time passed on that step. It could have been seconds or minutes or hours. He might have dozed or woken or stayed somewhere in between.
His parents never came for him, and Granger never left.
