Villain Deku

Summary:

This is my MHA drawing series, all the drawing 're done by me.
This is an original design of what I think a villain Deku would be like.
There are some drawings and ideas.

-I m planning to draw also the other characters from the show, I'm going to post a drawing a week.
On what day? Who knows (I'm not trying to be mysterious I'm just allergic to a regular schedule)

Notes:

Hiii!!!

This post is going to be a bit of an experiment.

I've already mentioned I'm really into character desing, but this is the first, probably of many, actual original design I post (it's actually a redesign in this case).

It's probably the most effort I've ever put in a post since there 2 full figure drawings and some props; it was pretty difficult for me but I'm going on the more technical aspects in the ending notes.

I'm also planning to go in detail on what exactly this au entails in my head.
This would be the first time I post something with text outside of the notes (if you don't count my original work)

It won't be a story, more like an info dump.
If you'd like to write something using my character, (I don't know if anyone might be interested) you're are free to as long you write a comment to warn me and tag me somewhere in your story.

Also this was written on my phone so please have mercy.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Sooo
Here we are, I'm a bit anxious but I'm going to try my best and explain all I thought.

Firstly, how did we get here and what's the goal of Midoriya Izuku in this au.

Anytime there's a villain Deku usually we see someone revengeful and sassy, sometimes outright evil doing or even doing cruel things (and always wearing a suit for some reason?).

Nothing wrong with it.
But I feel like it doesn't make any sense with the original character, his main characteristic is being kind and altruistic to a fault and that's kinda hard to remove without changing completely the original character.

In my au he's more of an 'activist' working against the government and common social standards.

He wants to prove that everyone, including and especially the quirkless (the probably more discriminated group) are equal, that nobody is born wrong or useless.

He never got one for all or a chance to become a hero, so he became a villain, or better a criminal.
Because law defines villainy as the intentionally harmful use of a quirk.
Therefore the law has to be changed because quirkless crimes are barely punished.

If the law, considers quirkless people differently on this point, the by changing this there can be the start of a change.

His idea would be to make people think that if someone quirkless can be someone to fear and respect regardless, a true villain, if they can be smart and strong enough to pose a serious theath, them maybe they just as capable and human as everybody else

He does this by  joining the LOV.

He joined when Shigaraki found some of his analysis after casually posting it online and offered him to help him make some actual change.

In this au the LOV plans are significantly less violent but more effective, they worked a lot on gaining some sort of public approval and are following something more similar to Stains original idea.

As in what the plans usually entail, it's mostly attacks with the purpose to make people question the system they believe in (like exposing a famous hero's dirty secrets or boycotting the UA sports festival)

He's obviously openly quikless and is considered an A ranking villain. He's mainly know for his Intel gathering abilities but is good to at planning, strategysing, hacking and fighting; he has useful connection to.

Speaking of him on a more personal level.
Personality wise he hasn't changed much but is,  weirdly or not, more confident and a bit less traumatized, this version of Midoriya though openly enjoys fighting (scars) and analysis.

He's as usual kind and sweet but with more of a backbone from the beginning (sometimes can even be a little rude), he's smarter then in canon, I'm thinking crazy genius with absurd thinking, problem solving etc...skills

I think out of mission he'd still wear what he does in canon (dumb shirts and basketball shorts).

I believe in the red shoes theory (everyone quirkless wears red shoes from the same brand) especially because it would be an easy and effective for him to be publicly quikless.

For missions I've designed something practical for fighting with some minor symbolism (the X, the red accents and "Deku" on the mask), I also wanted him to look like the complete opposite, especially color wise, of his hero counterpart.

I could speak longer on what I thought in details and why, but just know that the mask is never taken of in public and has a voice changer (that gives him the voice of an adult, and may or may not break in an epic moment).

The main theme is being 'wrong', because fighting and getting beaten by someone with literally "useless" written on their face must have some sort of reaction.

He goes by Deku for the same reason as his hero counterpart plus help send his message and cover his identity.

Speaking of identity, he's legally dead and almost everyone has every reason to believe it to be true, I can't decide if he staged a suicide or something else though.

I always had mixed feelings on  the "You can't be a hero without a quirk" on one hand, it's a good change and shows on how sometimes reality can be harsh, adding some realism.

On the other hand though... Who needs a quirk when you have a gun?

Most characters in the show, despite how simple it is, would have trouble surviving getting shot ( or hit with any traditional weapon), think of Shigaraki and Snipe at the USJ, Stains katanas, etc....

Although in this au he'd mainly use non-lethal and mostly unharmful weapon like sedative and other debilitating things like smoke bombs and such.

The last thing I feel like mentioning is that in this au he still manages to connect with a lot of people in this au as well ,it's important for his character development in canon so I don't want to change it.

His mother would be the only person who truly knows that her son is alive, on the outside she's destroyed by the situation but she's actually fully supportive, maybe actually she wants some revenge.

I also think it would be nice to make him have an arc with Bakuguo, where after the shock of thinking Izuku died he kinda figures out how much he messed up and apologizes. It would be pretty believable since the whole Deku thing is very easy to figure out from his perspective, and 1A is a villain magnet just like in canon; in the end they form a weird rivals bond.

I think it would be cool to make him have the "it's your power not his" talk with Todoroki  and ine about villainous quirks and heroism with Shinsou.

You'd get many chances for cool dialogues with the whole main cast, and I love dialogues (All might, Aizawa, etc...).

The LOV are still serious criminal, they are not good people but I think it would be nice to have him be a little beacon of light because of how hopeful he is.

So you could make him have emotionally charged conversations with the whole lot of them ( a Dabi and Endeavour, arc would be pretty fun and sense making)

It could end by making him uncover multiple mayor scandals at once and basically causing enough caos to overthrow the government somehow.

So

This is all

Yes it was a lot of ideas

I'm so tired

I hate tiping on mobile

Help

(Rereading this, sorry for the grammar mistakes, now should be better)

Notes:

So this took me like a week, counting the writing part to, I'm tired.
It was a bit of mess, I tried so many mediums and made so many hugeee fails but I will spare the details, I'm now satisfied.

I took a drawing class last week so there should be a quality improvement (mainly on my anatomy)

Anyway I hope you enjoyed, I'd be happy if you left a like or comment for my effort but I already really appreciate you if you read and watched this whole thing regardless.

Have a nice day <3
