   Summary

   The Mauler looked over the edge, standing beside the elevator and one of the saluting men of the UHDF. The red pillar of light shot up from the depths of Beneath.
   She wanted to get right to it. She clenched her fists and climbed up onto the fence.

   "Wh-what are you doing- HEY! STOP-!" The soldier called out, seeing her, but he was too late; the Mauler had leapt off into the beam. Down she fell before vanishing from his sight.

   "Fucking... aw, fuck. Shit," he frowned, stunned for a second before running off to report the incident to his superiors.

   ....

   She woke up, slowly growing more conscious. Pushing bandage-wrapped hands against the ground to get up, she looks around, preparing herself to fight despite not knowing what exactly she will see. That still didn't prepare her for the dingy city she was met with.

   People. A sky. A light against the clouds with a shadow in the middle, shaped like a bat.
