Chapter Text
It was a blue sky, adorned with clouds that danced around making shapes and gave the day a playful nature. A stark contrast to the way Mango look down at the blood red apple in her hand. Her left foot gently tapped the crate of apples below her as she looked up at the sky. The sight of the clouds reminded her of laughter. Like kids... Or maybe, it wasn't just her imagination.
Her eyes went from the sky to the two boys is that were playing tag in the fields. The wind was peaceful and the river running behind her with just as peaceful. This was the life she had strived for. This... This is what she wanted.
"MOM!" Mango's youngest son shouted, running and hiding behind Mango's box. The young boy had a playful smirk, while the oldest son looked like he would strangle him if mango wasn't there to stop it.
Mango watch the chaos with a soft smile. The peaceful day being one that she had really needed. The worst days had passed. And the conflicting feelings in her had subsided. As she got off of the crate and lifted her youngest boy from the ground and lifted him into the soft comforting Embrace of her arms. She looked at her older son who still look like he wanted to tear the small boy apart.
Down the hill, Mangos loved one standing at the bottom of the hill. He waved up at Mango and the boys, and mango couldn't help the wide smile that crept up her face at the sight of the one that she left. The one that would never hurt her.
Meanwhile, the boys had already challenge each other to a race to see who could get to their father's fastest. The oldest immediately started bolting down the hill and the youngest struggled to escape his mother's arms as her eyes were too focused on someone else to notice.
However she did notice when the boy fell to his knees but quickly got up and ran after his older brother that was way ahead of him. She chuckled as the youngest boy tried to catch up with everyone. She looked at the family she always longed for and had finally reached with a smile, Before joining everyone at the bottom of the hill.
It was a warm feeling to see the whole family together. The oldest boy hugging his father as the youngest one pouts that he didn't make it down the hill first. The eyes of Mango's beloved going from the kid to her own eyes. As he gently kissed her cheek, his hands running through her hair for a moment. Before his attention went back to the children.
"Hey Buddy, how are you?" The youngest pouted and jealousy because he didn't get a greeting. When Mango's beloved noticed the voice he sighed and greeted him too, Before greeting Mango. These were the days Mango looked forward to the most. Coming home to her boyfriend and kids were the best moments. Ones she would treasure forever...
