Work Text:
Fumio sat down at an izakaya with all his political friends. He ordered a chicken heart on a stick.
"So, did you hear about Shinzo's passing?" said one of Fumio's friends to the waiter.
They're talking about him again. It's always about Shinzo. It's always Shinzo this, Shinzo that.
"Yes, it was very sad that he got killed by that psychopath." The waiter replied. "I mean seriously what was the killer thinking? Using a homemade gun to kill the prime minister."
Fumio was getting impatient. He was breathing in and out heavily in anger.
Damare kudasai.
"Mr. Kishida here is going to be prime minister tomorrow." another one of Fumio's friends said.
Fumio calmed down a little and smiled. They noticed him. Finally.
But that little comment about him immediately turned the conversation into one about Shinzo again.
"Let's hope he doesn’t get killed like Abe did." The waiter said.
"How did Abe get killed?" said some random customer.
Do they even care about me?
Don't even try to change the topic, they're just going to silence you again.
You didn't accomplish anything, Fumio. No wonder they're not talking about you, you lazy yaro.
No one cares about you.
Fumio's breathing became heavy and rapid again. The only thing he heard was the word "Shinzo" from his friends and his heavy, rapid breathing and hard crying.
"So, when is Shinzo's funeral?" said a customer Fumio's "friends" were talking to.
"Tomorrow, at 12 pm." Fumio's "friend" replied. "Are you coming, Fumio?"
"No, I'm sorry, I am going to be prime mini-" Fumio answered, but he was interrupted by another one of his "friends".
"Stop being selfish." scolded that "friend". "Say yes."
"Y-yes, I will." Fumio stuttered, on the verge of tears.
Why does everything have to revolve around Shinzo? What about Fumio? Do people even care about him?
