Work Text:

She had decided to surprise her girl.

It was one of the perks of leaving YG: they had the freedom to come and go as they pleased now, bar their given schedules and other appointments, of course.

But there was no company employee hovering over them, no staff to hustle them out of the company premises straight into the van and back to their respective apartments, no long, bureaucratic process just to get permission to leave the country by her label and have the usual circus in tow.

No, Rosé could now hop on the next flight out of Charles de Gaulles straight to LAX just because she desperately needed to see Lisa.

After that heartfelt IG story caption ('Miss you tons my rosiepoop') Rosé decided that phone calls, text messages and FaceTime simply wasn't going to cut it. With both of them jetting across the world for the last few months, their workaholic tendencies was starting to take its toll.

She missed Lisa terribly, missed their pillow talks and buddy TV show binges and showing up crusty-eyed for dance practice and meetings, hyping each other up in the recording booth and messing around in the canteen with Jennie and Jisoo.

For all the freedom all of them were now getting to fulfil their dreams, Rosé also couldn't help but reminisce about a time when they were all more condensed and compact, able to reach each other with a knock on the door across the hallway.

But what she missed more than anything was just being with Lisa, her sunny presence and exuberant chatter, or her hot moans—

"Phew, the heat's a lot right now, isn't it?" Joan puffed, breaking Rosé out of her thoughts that had swerved towards sweltering R-rated territory. "I'm feeling it too."

"You can turn up the AC more," Rosé said, silently thankful for the afternoon sun beating down on them as they cruised through LA.

Not that Joan wasn't aware about the true nature of her and Lisa's relationship—the woman had been one of the first to know Rosé was a girl's girl through and through—but it wouldn't do to get used to too much freedom.

In YG, she had learned to school her expression and beat down on her reactions, to keep her touches as innocent as possible. Lisa skirted the line of danger more often, rebellious in her affections.

They had had some of their fights about it: for showing too much affection or not showing enough, leading to misunderstandings and bickering. But with time came growth as they matured into their relationship and found the right balance to walk the line between duty and desire, biding their time until freedom was within reach.

Losing all of that control now would undo all the painstaking years she and the other girls had spent hiding her and Lisa's status as girlfriends.

Before her sunny mood could cloud over at the reminder of what all of them stood to lose, Joan perked up and pointed out the window of their car.

"We're here! I see the house!"

Lisa's sprawling Mediterranean estate was just Rosé's type, reminding her of the pictures of Greece they used to pore over in their trainee days, dreaming of visiting one day.

"This one looks like it could come from somewhere in the Med, huh Rosie?" Lisa had said enthusiastically whilst showing her pictures. "It's in Beverly Hills, we'd be close to all the studios but it's still private and far away enough. Do you like it?"

Rosé laughed. "Babe, you're the one buying the house."

"Yeah, but I'd like to find something that you like too. Don't want you staying somewhere you hate," Lisa explained, nose scrunching up. Rosé wanted nothing more than to kiss her silly in that moment but sadly, they had been having the conversation over FaceTime, with thousands of miles separating them.

"I love it," Rosé reassured, smiling when Lisa punched the air, pleased. "That balcony you showed me would be great for a spot of star-gazing."

Lisa's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Hmm, I was thinking something more...vigorous than that. But yeah, absolutely, star-gazing, uh huh."

"Lisa," Rosé scolded half-heartedly as Lisa giggled.

"Okay, here's your bag. Anything happens, you call, I'm there, you hear me?" Joan said briskly as Rosé stepped out of the car. "Do check in here and there. A text is good. Remember our password."

Rosé nodded, the flutter of excitement in her stomach growing as she hoisted her duffel bag on her shoulder. "I'll see you soon."

"Unless she keeps you locked up," Joan winked, allowing a moment of levity after her dutiful instructions. "I'm sure you wouldn't be opposed but I do have to remind you that Anthony was very insistent that his GA visits for lunch so please make my job easier and be out here waiting for us in two days, yeah?"

Rosé chuckled. "You got it, J. Take care, I'll text in a bit."

"We'll see," Joan smirked mysteriously, "and need I remind you, neck area is off-limits. Now go have fun and say hi for me."

She pulled the window back up and waved. The car disappeared back down the hill, leaving Rosé standing at the foot of the slope leading up to the gates of her girlfriend's house. A short walk later, Rosé was talking to the security guard at the window.

"Miss Manoban wasn't expecting visitors I'm afraid, ma'am," he said politely.

"I know, I was going to surprise her," Rosé said. Undeterred when the security man merely shrugged, she took out her passport and handed it to him. "I appreciate you're doing your job so for due diligence, here's my document. I'll ask you to check with the list of VIP people that are allowed access without appointment."

Frowning, he took the passport and consulted with his computer screen, his eyes widening ever so slightly at what he saw.

"Oh, Miss Park! My apologies," he said more warmly now as he handed the passport back. "You and the other two girls are always welcome at the L House, of course."

Rosé stopped short. "Please tell me that's not what she named the place."

"You get used to it after a while, rolls off the tongue." After a beat, the security guard's straight face dissolved into a chuckle. "Ah, I'm kidding! But you have her to blame: she specifically asked me to introduce it that way for you three for, and I quote 'shits and giggles'."

Rosé shook her head. "I don't put it past her to actually name it that. Good day, sir."

He saluted. "You too ma'am. I'll let her know she has a visitor."

>

Rosé smiled to hear the shocked yell from behind the door after she had rung the bell and assumed Lisa had checked security footage.

Her hands tingled with anticipation, culminating in a laugh when Lisa pulled back the door, her jaw slack.

"What the hell!"

"Surprise," Rosé said, opening her arms wide.

In answer, Lisa leapt into the hug, almost knocking her back off the steps as Rosé tottered before regaining her balance.

"You're here you're here you're here!" Lisa gabbled, throttling her as she clung on like a koala and buried her face in the crook of her neck. "Chaeng-ah!"

Rosé couldn't keep it cool anymore: she hugged Lisa back just as tightly, savouring the feel of her lean, wiry body in her arms, all the skin-to-skin contact she could get through their crop tops and shorts.

"Hi Lisapoop," Rosé sniffed, the tell-tale signs of her overflowing emotions appearing. "I missed you tons, too."

Lisa caressed her face, tenderly removed her sunglasses and kissed her, hard, squashing their noses together without a care in the world: the only witness to their passionate embrace was the silent garden and the wide blue sky above them.

This is what freedom tastes like, Rosé thought when they drew apart, grinning with teary eyes.

When Lisa leaned in to touch foreheads, Rosé met her in the middle, closing her eyes to listen to her drumming heart, the buzzing bees and Lisa's low pants as she took in the scent of her bodywash mingling with the scent of herbs in the garden.

Rosé sat Lisa back on the ground after they recovered and Lisa, the gentlewoman that she is, immediately picked up her duffel bag and swung it over her shoulder easily.

She grinned when she spied Rosé biting her lip. "See something you like?"

"Hot," Rosé muttered.

"You bet," Lisa winked, "but so are you. That crop top? The shorts?" She blatantly scanned Rosé, licking her lips as her hooded eyes met Rosé's, who was already feeling pretty warm and it had nothing to do with the sun.

"Nothing you've never seen before," Rosé said.

"But you always pull it off so damn good, babe." Lisa fanned herself, smiling when Rosé giggled and held her face.

Lisa took her free hand and pulled her indoors, which was infinitely cooler. "Come on, can't have my Rosie Posie melting outside like ice-cream. Oh, this is so awesome, you really came!"

"Of course," Rosé said and Lisa blew her an air kiss before she led her further inside.

"How long are you staying? Please tell me at least a week!"

"Two days," Rosé said, sighing when Lisa's face fell. "I know baby, I wish I could, but you know how things are..."

"I do. It's alright Chaeng, it's better than just one day too," Lisa said, perking up. She swung their hands wildly as she talked nineteen to a dozen, oblivious to Rosé fond gaze as she followed in her girlfriend's wake.

"I gotta show you around! You're gonna love it! I'm still decorating so I definitely want to hear your ideas! And we can swim in the pool and I can have the chef whip up something, are you hungry? Thirsty? He's really good, but you're better of course, nothing beats your salmon steak, and oh I haven't forgotten star-gazing, the nights can be really clear Chaeng, you just gotta see it! Oh and I haven't started the show yet, I promise, you can check netflix—"

"Are we alone right now?"

"Huh?" Lisa said, interrupted from her spiel. She glanced back quizzically, almost making Rosé coo at her bemusement. "Oh yeah yeah, housekeeper only comes by in the morning, and there's a weekly cleaner, and the chef comes around for dinner but otherwise it's just you and me—"

"That's what I like to hear," Rosé murmured as she gently took the duffel bag from Lisa, put it on the ground and then sidled up close, stifling her smile when Lisa's mouth formed a perfect O of realisation. "I'd like to start the tour from your bedroom, please."

Lisa's eyes kindled as she pulled Rosé in from her hips, squeezing just right to have Rosé gasp into her mouth when Lisa claimed her lips in a bruising, hot kiss, a promise of what's to come.

"You mean, our bedroom."

>

Rosé stirred when she felt something warm and wet dab her shoulder repeatedly, sliding towards her neck. She registered the warm body lying on top of her and smiled sleepily up at her very naked girlfriend.

"Hey sexy," Lisa greeted. "Good nap?"

"Mhm the best, especially when I get to wake up with you." She turned her head to better meet Lisa's soft kiss, enjoying the sensation of her girlfriend's weight covering her like a blanket, protecting her from the chilly AC.

"I missed this," Rosé sighed, "waking up like this, with you."

"God, I missed this too. You sound so hot right now," Lisa groaned, "I think your bed voice is only second to your singing voice, I swear."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah. You singing voice is angelic and pure and your bed voice...it's so seductive and sexy and fuck, it has me wet. No I'm serious," Lisa insisted when Rosé laughed outright.

"You're not slick, if you wanna go another round, just say so—"

"You want it, say so," Lisa sang, her own clear voice taking on a husky timbre from all the moaning and screaming. It had Rosé's own interest pique, already feeling wetness pool between her legs.

"Oh wow okay, maybe you have a point about the voice thing..."

Lisa laughed then tilted Rosé's chin up with her finger, her eyes infinitely soft. "One more time and then we get up?" she proposed. "You still need to text Joan."

Rosé already was gone the moment she had looked into those brown pools, overflowing with adoration solely for her. At times, she had to stop and thank whatever lucky star was out there for sending her Lisa.

"Yeah, I'm getting hungry too now."

"What a coincidence, I was just about to eat," Lisa winked, leaving a trail of open-mouthed kisses down Rosé's back.

>

After they dragged themselves out of bed, showered, had more sex and finally left the bedroom, it was already approaching twilight.

Lisa had had the foresight to call off her chef for the night after it was clear her and Rosé's reunion was going to stretch out late.

"We can always order take-away," Lisa mumbled in between teasing nibbles at Rosé's throat after she tossed her phone aside to return to more important matters.

Rosé swatted her away. "Behave, babe."

"What? But you like neck kisses," Lisa pouted. "What gives?"

"I do like them but you tend to be aggressive and they kinda stick around a while."

"That's the idea."

"While I like them, I'm sure the paps would love them even more. I got scolded by unnie during the tour you know, she was going through foundation like crazy. So let's not have a repeat of that." Rosé giggled at Lisa's crestfallen expression. "Hey cheer up grumpy, there's still plenty more of me to mark up, you know?"

When Lisa pouted some more, Rosé tilted her head and pretended to consider. "Okay let me sweeten the deal, what if I cooked us dinner?"

Lisa perked up, appeased by the compromise, making Rosé chuckle.

"You just love when I cook for you, huh?"

"It's my kink," Lisa quipped and Rosé wasn't sure she was joking.

Lisa's walk-in fridge was stocked to the brim just like a restaurant's and Rosé found herself spoilt for choice on what to make for dinner.

"Why don't we go for something classic and light?" Lisa suggested. "Salmon steak? I can help with that one too."

Rosé smiled. "Great idea, let's go."

Teamwork makes the dream work, though in this case Lisa relegated herself more to a commentary position, teasing and praising Rosé in equal measure and even sidling up for backhugs and whispering dirty things in her ear on purpose to distract her.

"I'm gonna serve you burnt steak if you don't behave," Rosé scolded at one point, but only half-heartedly: when Lisa rubbed the sore spot in the small of her back that sometimes plagued her after long bouts of wearing heels at events, she couldn't help but melt against her girlfriend, all protests dying on her lips.

"Feels better, babe?" Lisa asked tenderly.

"Yeah."

"You need to take care of yourself Chaeyoung-ah, don't neglect your back. I thought you had been doing pilates?"

"It's been a while," Rosé admitted. "I should really book an appointment soon, or go with Jisoo when I'm back home."

"Good idea." Lisa glanced down critically. "I'll give you a foot rub afterwards too, it's good for the arch, and the blood flow."

"Thanks Lili," Rosé sighed and resolved to not burn Lisa's steak.

Lisa could tease to the point of annoyance sometimes, but then she'd turn around and do the most thoughtful little gestures that would be completely invisible to a stranger who didn't know her Lisa like she did.

During dinner, they sipped on wine and caught each other up on their current work, with Rosé especially begging for a hint about Lisa's upcoming appearance in The White Lotus.

Lisa, not particularly partial to spoilers even when they were releasing music as a group, was even more reticent about her acting debut.

"Not even a little hint?" Rosé wheedled.

"Nope."

"A little itsy bitsy hint?"

"Babe, you do know we sign NDAs for those sort of things, right? You'll find out like the rest of the world will when the time comes. I haven't even told my mum. It's top secret. Once one person knows, then the whole world knows."

"But I'm your girlfriend," Rosé pouted, doing her best imitation of Hank's pleading face which usually got the best of her girlfriend. "I told you about the Met Gala, that's top secret too."

But Lisa merely laughed. "Nice try, Chaeng, but you forget, I've got Love now. I'm working on my immunity to your puppy face."

"What about a favour? I let you top me for the next two days and you spill the hot goss."

Lisa snorted. "Who are you kidding? I'm the top in this relationship."

"Is the top in the room with us?" Rosé smirked, pretending to fire shots.

"Oh you're so paying for that, later," Lisa promised darkly, sending pleasurable ripples through Rosé's chest.

Lisa was more open to discuss her baby, her latest single Rockstar. And Rosé was more than happy to listen, enjoying Lisa's excitement. She had spent many a late night tossing ideas back and forth with Lisa, who pushed hard for the final product to be perfect so it was a pleasure to see the record finally come to fruition.

"D-Day was a mess," Lisa said glumly, a shadow flitting across her face. "I wanted it to be perfect."

"I know my love, but you're all starting out, shit happens," Rosé comforted, leaning over to rub her shoulder. They had had this conversation briefly too, in a four-way conversation with the other two girls when they called to congratulate Lisa.

"Yeah. I really like how the video turned out though, it was dope right?" Lisa said, brightening. "Everyone worked really hard on it."

"Are you kidding me? I told you, I'm absolutely obsessed. We need to shoot a tiktok or something together," Rosé declared. "That silver outfit and your hair...mesmerising. But oh don't worry, I liked the bad girl street outfit too. Maybe you could channel that in bed with me," she smirked, pretending to fire shots as Lisa stared then shook her head.

"You're mean. I'm a bad girl in bed too, come on," she whined.

"The baddest baddie to ever bad in bed," Rosé reassured, stifling her laughter when Lisa's eyes narrowed in suspicion, trying to figure out whether she was pulling her leg. "Tell me about the other songs coming up? Is there really a Rosalia feature?"

Lisa smirked and crossed her arms. "How about you tell me what you're working on instead? I wanna hear, please?"

Unfortunately, Rosé's weakness was music, and when combined with Lisa's soft plea, she couldn't resist. Her captivated audience of one always listened so attentively too, making Rosé turn warm especially whenever she spied Lisa's soft smile start to form.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" Rosé asked shyly.

"You're glowing," Lisa said softly. They had migrated to the couches in the living room at some point and Lisa now tipped her head back against the back cushion, looking over at Rosé with a tipsy sincere smile. Her doe eyes were two bright stars in the dim light. "Freedom suits you, Chaeyoung-ah."

Rosé's lips trembled and she couldn't help but snuggle up to Lisa and softly kiss her. They made out a while, tender and slow, with Lisa hooking strands of Rosé's hair behind her ear and Rosé caressing Lisa's jaw, until the need for air couldn't be ignored any longer.

"I wish we were free too," Rosé whispered, her mood dipping towards melancholy. "I don't want to be ungrateful, we're actually so fucking privileged to be living like this, all of it. We're so blessed. But I still...I don't...I feel so scared sometimes. It keeps me up at night. It shouldn't be this way, us hiding. Why does it have to be like this? Our love isn't wrong."

She didn't have to elaborate more: Lisa always understood. She pulled Rosé into a comforting hug now, kissing her temple and rubbing her back.

"One day, things will be different. I promise," Lisa whispered, hoarse with emotion. "I promise, Chaeyoung-ah."

>

Rosé didn't remember falling asleep, snuggled up with Lisa on the couch, but she was briefly roused when she felt Lisa carry her in her arms up to their bedroom.

"Chaeng? Wanna change?" Lisa asked softly once they arrived. Rosé wanted nothing more than to burrow into their nest of blanket cuddling with Lisa but she still had to wash her face and dress in her PJ's.

Soon, she tumbled into bed, relaxing once Lisa slipped in and held her, soothingly stroking little circles with her thumb. She lay in the near dark, listening to Lisa's breaths and matching her own until her earlier anxieties melted away.

"Better?" Lisa asked softly. She always was attuned to Rosé, reading her like the back of her palm. Rosé's heart swelled with fondness.

"Yeah. Lisa?"

"Mhm?"

"I love you."

"I love you too." Lisa leaned in for one final kiss, smiling when she pulled back. "Sweet dreams Rosie. I can't wait for tomorrow."

>

Shooting the tiktok with Lisa was fun, and so was opening the labubu boxes Lisa got for her. Lisa excitedly filmed as Rosé deliberated carefully.

"I'm more excited for this than you are!" Lisa laughed. Her laughter was music that Rosé had gone without for far too long and it sounded absolutely transcending to hear it again in person.

But by and large, the more fun activity was Lisa absolutely going to town on her in the pool.

Rosé had been abuzz with anticipation when she put her decidedly naughty plan into action, barely able to hold back her glee the moment she stepped out into the pool area and unwrapped her towel. She casually dropped it in the nearest deckchair before sauntering to join her girlfriend at the pool's edge in just her birthday suit.

"Hey babe how's the water? Is it cold?"

"Oh nah, it's fine, it's—" Lisa turned, gasped, slipped, stumbled and fell into the pool with a yelp. She popped up like a cork, gasping for air, hair plastered all over her face.

"Park Chaeyoung, what in the literal fuck?"

"What? Can't a girl sunbathe in the nude around here?" Rosé stretched nonchalantly and smiled innocently at Lisa's stupefied face. "Hmm, or maybe skinnydipping. I haven't tried that before, have you?"

Lisa made a strangled sound. "Are you trying to have me drown? You almost gave me a heart attack!"

"That won't do," Rosé said smoothly. "Guess I'll go back in and—"

"No I'm fine I'm fine!" Lisa said frantically.

She hastily climbed out and it was Rosé's turn to catch her breath, always needing a moment to recover when greeted with Lisa's wiry body on display, toned and taut in all the right places. She was wearing a yellow bikini, showing off her tattoos that Rosé remembered kissing and licking only that morning and oh shit, she was getting wet again—

"I see you need no help," Lisa grinned, noticing her condition as she gestured at Rosé.

One second they were standing on the pool's edge beneath the hot sun, staring at each other, tension sizzling through the air like an electric charge.

The next, they collided, unable to stand the distance any longer, mouths and teeth and tongue clashing.

Lisa plunged them into the pool as revenge, holding Rosé against her securely as Rosé frantically scrabbled at Lisa's bra strings to rip it off. She threw it aside without a second glance, letting it float away. Lisa's throaty laugh abruptly cut off when Rosé attacked her breasts, squeezing, biting and licking. Her busy hands struggled to pull down the bottom but Lisa maintained enough wits to help and soon, she was as naked as Rosé, their bodies rubbing against each other deliciously.

"Wanna taste you," Rosé husked.

"Me first," Lisa smiled, backing her up against the wall before Rosé cold protest. She easily hoisted Rosé out of the water, smirking as she flexed her muscles for good measure after putting her down on the pool's edge. She tapped Rosé's knee. "Open for me."

Rosé complied pathetically fast, too eager to care when Lisa gave a low laugh and grasped her firmly from her hips.

"Not the top, hmm?" Lisa hummed and pulled Rosé forward with a sudden, swift move. She buried her face in between Rosé's legs, making the other girl gasp at the sudden wet smack of Lisa's tongue against her throbbing center.

>

It was a good thing they had jumped off at the shallow edge: it allowed them to get creative with positions without almost drowning in their eagerness to thoroughly make up for their dearth of fucking in the first half of the year.

Rosé's tongue and mouth were numb by the time she finished Lisa for the fourth time in a row, her pruned fingers tingling from overworking them. Lisa took over the moment she recovered: her refractory period was remarkably short, which could be a blessing depending how exhausted Rosé was.

"Lisa, baby, I'm—I'm close," Rosé whimpered, hips stuttering as she tried to stay upright. Lisa rubbed her overstimulated clit with punishing force, thrusting three long fingers into her for extra measure and extracting the most exquisite moans for her ears only.

"Not yet Chaeng," Lisa gritted over Rosé's shoulder. "Wait for me."

"Hurry."

"Yeah. Almost—there—fuck you're so tight baby—"

"Don't stop, keep going, keep going—"

"Now," Lisa grunted and Rosé came on command with a little cry. Lisa panted hard as she slumped against her, exhausted, before she made to move off her.

"No stay," Rosé whined.

"Baby I'll crush you—"

"I like you hugging me like this."

Lisa returned, pressing her head against Rosé's back. She smiled to hear Rosé's heart drumming beneath her cheek. When she sensed Rosé's heart had slowed down significantly, Lisa reluctantly patted her girlfriend to rouse her.

"Let's go before we shrivel up, babe. You don't want to see me all pruned, trust me."

"You'll still be gorgeous to me even when we're eighty year old prunes," Rosé mumbled sleepily, unaware of Lisa ducking her head shyly, her cheeks dusted pink.

Limp and spent, Rosé allowed Lisa to lead her out of the pool and fetch them towels from the ones folded on the deck. She also retrieved Rosé's sunglasses, gently slipping them on as Rosé's eyes fluttered tiredly, barely having the strength to stand.

"I'll take a nap here," Rosé mumbled, lying down on the nearest deckchair. "Stay?"

"Of course. Let me set up the umbrella first. Don't want my Rosie posie getting sunburnt," Lisa said, busy fussing until the umbrella covered them in shade. She hurried to bring out a cool drink from the cooler stocked nearby and pressed it into Rosé's grateful hands.

"You're the best girlfriend," Rosé sighed after a long sip. "I love you."

"I love you too. Rest. I'll be here." Lisa promised as she settled back in her chair next to Rosé, unable to wipe the wide grin off her face as she watched Rosé put her drink down and gradually doze off.

Lisa turned on her back to doze off as well when she spied her floating bikini at the pool's edge. She almost got up to quickly snatch them out of the water, a shadow of guilt and embarrassment raising its head when she stopped.

Who was going to care whether she picked them now or later?

Who was going to see?

No snooping person, no nosy paparazzi would infiltrate her tightly secured sanctuary. She didn't have to be on the alert for her every move to be dissected, her every action to be scrutinised.

Nobody was going to tell her off. Nobody was going to make a big deal of it. Nobody was going to care.

Lisa crossed her legs and put her arms behind her head. She stole one final glance at her peaceful sleeping girlfriend before closing her own eyes, her grin restored.

Freedom was awesome.

>

"Is that from that snippet you shared? The vampirehollie one?" Lisa asked, joining Rosé on the moonlit balcony with two glasses in hand. "Here's your martini, Miss Singer."

"Espresso?"

"As you ordered, ma'am," Lisa grinned.

Rosé took a sip, eyes widening. "When did you get so good at mixing drinks? You should take up bartending as a side gig!"

"You flatter me but don't deflect." Lisa pointed at the guitar Rosé was cradling. "The song?"

"Yeah it is. Guess I'm in my feels tonight."

"Yeah? I thought you were quiet earlier, at dinner."

"I'm sorry," Rosé sighed. "These two days with you have been wonderful...and who knows when we'll be able to do this again...just get away from it all for a while..."

"Nothing Joan can do?" Lisa said, her hope evaporating with Rosé's sigh.

"I did text her just once about it, but she pointed out my schedules can't rearrange themselves without a lot of complications," Rosé said despondently. She raised her head, long hair flowing around her shoulders like a waterfall of gold in the moonlight. "I don't want to keep you from your schedules either."

"Eh, couple of zoom meetings aren't much," Lisa shrugged. "I have a feeling Alice and Joan teamed up for this, made sure my schedule wasn't overloaded too."

"Alice's nice, I'm glad she stuck around," Rosé smiled.

The night was clear, though only the brightest stars were visible due to the moon's bright glow. It was a beautiful sight nonetheless.

Rosé strummed some more chords on Lisa's electric guitar (a white Supreme), humming and vocalising. Lisa watched, drinking quietly and gradually joining to sing when Rosé would nod and cue her in.

Rosé was playing old songs, nostalgic ones that they played a lot in those early days pre-debut, with Jennie and Jisoo in the dorms.

"Wanna check in on the unnies?" Lisa said abruptly, putting her glass down and fishing for her phone. "They should be up."

"What if they're on their schedules?" Rosé said, worrying her lip, but she didn't shoot down the idea.

Lisa smiled. "We'll just have to see, huh?"

Rosé scooted closer to Lisa, waiting with bated breath as Lisa texted their group chat.

By some stroke of luck, Jennie and Jisoo both responded within three minutes of each other.

"Videochat?" Lisa texted.

"Why? Are you in trouble?" Jisoo asked immediately.

"No, my heart is, because it misses you," Lisa simpered, sniggering as Rosé hit her shoulder.

"She's not going to want to FaceTime after that," Rosé warned.

"What's going on?" Jennie asked, entering the chat.

"Lisa is being weird again," Jisoo said. "I think she's drunk. Where's Chaeng? She hasn't been on here in two days."

"Probably lost her phone again. But yeah sure, I got an hour to kill, why not? Chaengie, join us!" Jennie said.

"Alright then, I got like...the whole day," Jisoo bragged. "You got lucky Nallalisa."

"I have," Lisa said, glancing at Rosé with the softest smile, making the latter blush.

"Something's up," Jisoo noted suspiciously before she disappeared.

Moments later, the older two girls were crowding Lisa's phone screen in their separate windows. Jennie seemed to be in some waiting room whilst Jisoo was lying on her bed.

"Why is it so dark?" Jennie said, squinting. "Is my screen brightness that low?"

"Maybe 'cos it's like 1am here unnie," Lisa said with exaggerated patience.

"So you're being a good environmental ambassador and saving on electricity?" Jisoo asked.

"No, I'm sitting in my balcony in the moonlight," Lisa said with more exaggerated patience. "And I'm also with my girlfriend."

"What! Rosalia's there?" Jisoo said eagerly.

"What do you mean Rosalia, I thought it was Tyla!" Jennie gasped.

"No no no, Tyla was last month!"

"Ahhhhhhh okay. Wait, what's with you and Rosalia anyway?" Jennie said suspiciously.

"Nothing nothing Jendeuk," Jisoo said meekly as Rosé chuckled.

"Guys," Lisa pouted. "Not funny." She grabbed Rosé's hand for emphasis. "Rosie is my one and only."

"Lisa, they're teasing," Rosé comforted as she leaned into frame. "Hey unnies."

"There's my favourite maknae," Jisoo beamed.

"What a sight for sore eyes," Jennie sighed dreamily.

"Pump the brakes or Lisa won't get you any Labubus," Rosé giggled as Lisa glared at the snickering girls on screen.

"You're too easy," Jisoo smirked. "Well, what's up? Drinking and reminiscing?"

"Something like that..."

"We were missing you," Lisa blurted out, making Jisoo and Jennie pause. "You know, the old times. Us four. Together."

"Even though right now we all are doing our own thing, it's nice when we're all together too, is what we were thinking," Rosé explained, squeezing Lisa's hand who squeezed back.

There was a beat of silence, then Jennie broke it first.

"Shit you guys, I got makeup, you can't make me tear up like this," she choked out.

"Well I haven't got makeup but 12pm on a Tuesday is definitely not my designated crying slot either," Jisoo sniffed.

"Sorry," Rosé winced.

"Don't apologise," said Lisa, Jennie and Jisoo automatically.

"We'll meet up soon Chaeng. Right now, things are crazy but they will settle," Jennie vowed.

"What she said," Jisoo said, nodding fervently. "Hang in there, we'll get together before you know it. I miss you two as well. Jennie and I get together at least but y'all are jetting off everywhere every other day."

"Jealous?" Lisa smirked. She nuzzled Rosé, who readily let herself be cuddled, enjoying Lisa's open affection. "What can I say, Rosie and me, we're rockstars, we're everywhere."

"Oh ha ha very clever Lalisa, I saw your tiktok."

"If you saw the tiktok then why did you wonder where Rosie was?" Lisa questioned.

"Because I am a busy working single mother who got a million tabs open in my head so forgive me for not keeping track of your every move," Jisoo fired back.

"But you're not working today?"

"It's like no time has passed at all," Jennie smiled, shaking her head as Jisoo stuck her tongue out at Lisa and Lisa mirrored her. "I gotta be going, but stay safe you two, be responsible, don't make babies."

"Darn, I forgot my condoms," Lisa said dryly.

"I thought I was wearing them?" Rosé piped up, making Jisoo and Jennie laugh at Lisa's stunned face.

Once they logged out and the solemn mood had returned, Lisa pulled Rosé closer, absently stroking small circles around her shoulder out of habit. "Better?"

"Yeah," Rosé said gratefully. "You always know what to do."

Lisa laughed quietly, fidgeting with her shirt's hem. "Nah, I mess up lots. But I try."

Rosé took her hand to stop her, kissed her cheek and rested her head on Lisa's shoulder. "And I appreciate, love. I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you."

They stayed snuggling on the balcony for a while more, talking quietly until the nightly chill finally had them pack up and head to bed.

Rosé didn't want to wake up, because waking up meant leaving their little nest, and leaving Lisa.

She lay still as the morning sunlight crept through the blinds. Turning to the side she was met with her sleeping girlfriend still out like a light, her eyelashes fluttering slightly as Rosé snuggled up to her.

"Mm Rosie? Whar time izz it?" Lisa slurred.

"Time for not getting out of bed," Rosie mumbled, burying her face in Lisa's neck. "I don't want to wake up."

Lisa sighed. "Me neither. You sure Joan can't work out something? I got like another day at least."

Rosé propped herself up and grabbed her phone. Her last text to Joan made her wince as she looked it over now, full of typos and essentially pleading to see if there's any way they could push back her appointments. Although she was always thrilled to meet with Anthony, his partner and their son, Lisa took priority.

I'm sorry Rosie, no can do, Joan said apologetically. "I'll be swinging by soon. We're on the way, still getting out of downtown." The text had been sent five minutes ago. It would take close to two hours for her manager to bring their brief sojourn in paradise to an end.

"She said she's on the way," Rosé said glumly, showing Lisa the text. Lisa hummed thoughtfully before she sidled up to Rosé and kissed her cheek as she slung an arm around her despondent girlfriend.

"Only on the way, huh? Then we got time. What do you say?"

In answer, Rosé put her phone aside and readily accepted Lisa's heady kisses, letting herself be swept away to a place where only she and Lisa existed, coiled together with no beginning or end, suspended in love.

They had showered, made themselves presentable and eaten brunch, attempting to keep the conversation light for their last few hours together even as the impending separation weighed heavily.

It's not like they hadn't been away from each other before but somehow, not knowing when she could have Lisa all to herself again made it harder to drag herself to the door when Joan rang the bell.

"She's here," Rosé said distantly.

Lisa nodded, carefully expressionless. To a stranger, Lisa's behaviour might appear cold but Rosé knew she was keeping a stiff upper lip for her sake. If one of them started crying, the waterworks wouldn't stop.

"Yeah guess so. You got your stuff?" Lisa said.

Rosé patted her duffel bag and Lisa nodded, taking her free hand and squeezing it.

"Okay let's go, I'll see you out at the door."

The bell rang again insistently but Rosé wanted to ignore it like a child, put a pillow over her ears and pretend that she could stay.

But Lisa was already a step ahead, pulling open the door without hesitation.

And Rosé sometimes hated how rational her girlfriend could be yet in a way, she also admired Lisa for being so bold, for ripping off the band-aid and jumping headlong into the future instead of dithering endlessly.

"Surprise!" chorused two people who were definitely not Joan.

"What the hell?" Lisa and Rosé screeched in unison.

Standing on the threshold, Jisoo and Jennie high-fived and gave a bow, beaming wide.

"Mission accomplished," Jisoo declared. "Hello Chaengie, you're glowing. I don't know if it's the sex or being out of the dungeon but you're looking good."

"For the love of kimchi, please tell me you didn't name this place the fucking L House?" Jennie demanded. "I couldn't tell if your security guard is joking."

"What's wrong with L House?" Lisa said offended.

"Okay time out," Rosé yelped out. "How...what...why?"

"How? What do you think?" Jisoo snorted. "We had to get here as fast as possible so we took the jet. Not sure if the crew was too happy to move out on such short notice but sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. Can't leave you waiting on us."

"Awh, wasn't it you who was preaching to me about saving electricity a few hours ago as a dutiful environment ambassador," Lisa pointed out, snickering when Jisoo shoved her.

"After the call, Jisoo and I thought this is where we needed to be right now," Jennie explained, as though flying 5000 miles just to see the younger girls was something she did every other day. "We could all do with a little catch-up. We missed you too, you know. FaceTime isn't the same as in person."

"Unnie," Rosé sniffed, enveloping her in a tight hug.

"Our managers worked it out and voila, here we are," Jisoo finished. She opened her arms wide. "Well, where's my hug?"

Both Lisa and Rosé rushed into her arms and almost bowled her over. Jennie joined the hug as well and for a moment they were all embracing, teary-eyed and sniffling.

"You guys are the best," Rosé sniffed sadly, "but I'm afraid I can't stay. My manager is coming."

"Honey, did you a hear a word we said? It's all fixed," Jennie chortled.

"Check your phone," Jisoo urged.

Rosé frowned when she pulled out her phone and saw a new text notification from Joan. Her eyes widened as she read the message.

"'Sorry, had to keep it a surprise but don't worry, it's all fixed. You get another day off, you deserve it :)' Wait, for real?" Rosé looked up at the three girls, mirroring her delight. "We get to have a day together, right here? You guys!"

"Hell yeah!" Lisa cheered, clapping her hands and practically breaking out in a happy jig. "Let's do the house tour, you're gonna love it and then pool party with all my girls, this is gonna be epic let's gooooo—oh fucckkkkkkkkkkkkk."

"What? What is it?" Rosé asked worriedly when Lisa came to a standstill. Jisoo and Jennie paused to listen too.

Lisa rubbed the back of her neck and cleared her throat. "I just remembered my bikini is still in the pool," she said sheepishly, wincing as the others erupted in yells.

"Lisa!"

"Ew!"

"Ya nasty!"
