Scott sat at his parents meeting table, the Cod prince just across from him. Both stared at each other, the once soft smile he tried to force turned swiftly into a glare as the other never sent it back. He adjusted his small crown atop his head, the gems shining in the light as he watched the Cod price lean back.
“Smajor, pay attention.” His mother called, which caused the young elf to snap his gaze over to his mother. To which she spoke up for the whole table. “As war negotiations continue, me and the Ocean Queen have decided to initiate a quartship between the two parties. As Princess LDshadowlay is in training for her rule, and Prince Xornoth is unable to attend proper meetings due to his absence in the royal duties, you both are being chosen for the placements.” She spoke, both of the teenagers' faces dropping and filling with the same look. Ones of stress and astonishment, but not in the typical way you'd see. The blue eyes from one side of the room mixed with a baffled expression while the brown eyes filled with discomfort and sadness.
Just as silence filled the room both voices shouted at the same time, the Cod prince looking over to his mother and father who sat there looking the same as the royals from Rivendell.
reluctance of any sort, making sure he was ready to move on before continuing. It could take years for this ‘marriage’ to work out. But it could take seconds to make a good friend.
To find someone to clean the snow before you drown.
And to Aeor did the other prince grasped in scotts hand look like he needed someone in his life, willing to risk themselves for him. Willing to love, to care. To accept him for him.

“Why'd you do that?” Where the frost words the Cod prince muttered Upon stepping into the gold and blue room. “Ever since my brother left I've Made it my goal to not let anyone else hurt like he did. Enemies or not, where stuck like this for our .pragade.” Scott mumbled, sighing after his words. “This doesn't mean I like you. I'm just preventing another future ruler from going off the rails.” He muttered, sitting at his desk and starting to flip through sketchbook pages.
Awkward silence spread across the small room before the other prince spoke. “so- uh.. what's your name?” He stuttered, voice now muffled from the distance between the two and the fabric covering his mouth. “Scott, Scott of Rivendell.” He turned around to look at the other, finding a small trail of blush along his pale skin and tan freckles. “What about you?” He questioned, swiping some teal hair out of his face and tucking it behind his ear where the back to his earrings was. “Jimmy, Jimmy of the Cod-pire.”
“It's a bit silly how we've been enemies our whole life and didn't know each other's non-formal names” Scott mused, laughing slightly. “Maybe you aren't So bad” Jimmy mumbled, his face lighting up with a smile Scott seemed to love like an addiction even though he'd only seen it once before. If there was one thing Scott could compare jimmys smile to it would be an eclipse, filling him with joy to the point he wanted to see it over and over but it never happened. “Maybe, just maybe. Care to join me in the garden?” Scott asked, standing as he put his arm out.
“I'd love to.” The blonde mumbled, standing up and wrapping his arm around the elf's.
“I'd love too.” Scott repted, voice so quiet it was a mumble as he smiled.
Maybe he could learn to love his enemies.
Or maybe he was just dooming himself to form an endless amount Of more. But he didn't mind, at all.
