Work Text:

Felix's body liked to betray him. A lot. At the most inconvenient times too.

It was old news that every once in a while (read: quite regularly) Felix woke up with aches running down his body, sharp pains shooting from left and right. These aches usually left him feeling weak and shaky.

Today was no different. The blond woke up to pain shooting up his neck, jabbing his lower back, making him feel uncomfortable and exhausted before he even got out of his bed. His pillows, which were supposed to be soft and heavenly, felt like bricks against his head. He could feel a headache approaching due to how much he must've clenched his jaw in his sleep.

Felix forced himself to sit up. Flinching at the pain taking over his back.

The blond didn't bother to get dressed for breakfast even though his routine usually implied otherwise. Currently, the main goal was to get some food in his system so he could take some pain medication and hopefully feel just a bit less miserable. He couldn't afford to rot in bed today. They were having a party of sorts and he was finally going to meet Seungmin's friends. There was no way he was going to allow a whole, eight person get-together to be cancelled just because his body had betrayed him the way it did at least once a week.

Felix plopped onto his spot around the dining table with an exhausted sigh. Not surprisingly, Seungmin was already there, their breakfast almost ready.

"Morning Lixie."

"Gmornin' Minnie."

The blond smiled widely as Seungmin placed a plate of hotteok in front of him.

"Thank you for breakfast Minnie."

"Of course Lix-ah."

Felix zoned out momentarily as he waited for Seungmin to have the first bite. Not only because the brunette was younger but also since he was the cook.

"Mmm…"

Hearing Seungmin hum in approval and do a little dance in place, physically expressing his satisfaction with the food, meant that Felix could now pick up his own hotteok from his plate.

If not for his stupid hands refusing to cooperate with his chopsticks of course. It  was almost as if his hands had a mind of their own and were enemies with his chopsticks. He was so shaky that he could barely hold his chopsticks, let alone use them to pick anything up. Felix chose to ignore how he could feel Seungmin's eyes on him.

The brunette was worried about Felix. Seungmin had realized that something was up, the moment the blond entered the kitchen. He looked slumped and almost as stiff as a board. After watching his roommate struggle to pick up a hotteok for 10 minutes straight, Seungmin couldn't help himself.

"Lix… I don't want to freak you out, but are you having a stroke or something-"

The brunette was hoping that his question would get a giggle out of his roommate. He pouted upon being met with an exhausted sigh instead.

Felix dropped his chopsticks and pushed himself to a standing position.

"I'm just gonna get a fork."

Seungmin kept observing.

"But seriously, are you okay?"

"Yeah Minnie. It happens every once in a while."

The blond sat back down, a fork in one hand, some tissues in the other as Seungmin raised an eyebrow.

The brunette didn't know how to process or react to this information.

"I'm not going to ask the stupid doctor questions for your sanity…" the younger of the two blurted, hoping Felix would get the joke while still answering the unasked questions he had.

"Thank you Seungmo. I got it checked out and was told I'm too young to be sore, achy and shaky. Then I got advised that I should quit dancing. That's why I only visit Minho-hyungie at the dance studio only once a month instead of almost living there like he does."

"Sorry Lixie…"

Seungmin was surprised when he saw a bright smile plastered onto Felix's face. Said smile didn't quite reach the blond's eyes but Seungmin wouldn't push it.

"I'm good! Don't worry."

Seungmin sighed. Of course Felix would say that. Then it occurred to him.

"You know, we can always reschedule tonight's thingie if you want. I'm sure Chan-hyung, Changbin-hyung and Jeongin won't mind."

The brunette watched as Felix weighed his options.

"Wouldn't that be rude? Besides, I wanna meet 'em!"

Seungmin wasn't convinced. He didn't want his roommate overworking himself.

"It won't be rude Lix-ah."

Felix rolled his eyes even though he wasn't actually annoyed.

"I said we don't need to cancel Seungmo! It's fine I promise. Besides, it's our house. I can literally go to bed if I need or want to."

"Fine. But I'm never gonna let you forget it if you end up falling asleep mid sentence."

"We have a deal."

Seungmin chuckled as the blond finally picked up the hotteok and started eating.

After a whole day of preparing the house, buying snacks and alcohol and allowing Felix to rest a little bit in order to mentally and physically be ready, it was finally the time for their friends to come over. Felix was vibrating with excitement as Seungmin was making a final rundown of everything they had to make sure they hadn't missed anything. Then the door was unlocked.

"Hyung! We gave you a spare key for emergencies. You could've knocked." Seungmin complained as Minho barged in, dragging Jisung along with him.

"I could've knocked but that wouldn't have given Felix a near heart attack and what's the fun in that-" Minho was interrupted by Felix throwing himself onto him and let out an oof.

"You're a meanie hyungie. Now you need to hug me real tight to make up for it." Felix complained.

The older dancer sighed and rolled his eyes, pretending to be annoyed. However, he was quick to hug the blond tightly.

"Hi honey!" Jisung exclaimed, ruffling Felix's hair.

"Hi Sungie!" Felix exclaimed back, enabling Jisung's hyperactivity.

Minho finally peeled himself off of Felix and moved to the kitchen as Jisung dragged the blond to the living room, yapping about a kitten that Minho wanted to adopt.

"Hi Lino-hyung." Seungmin greeted their hyung as he kept reorganizing the snacks.

"Hello Mr. Mong Mong. I brought some cheap wine. Did you guys need anything else?"

Seungmin took the bottle from Minho's hands and chucked it in the fridge to cool.

"Thanks hyung. I think everything is set."

The brunette then went back to messing with the snacks. Both of them turned around upon hearing the doorbell.

"I got it!" Felix's shout was heard a second later, followed by rushed thumps of  foot-steps.

Minho couldn't help but chuckle.

"C'mon Mr. Former-Goldenretriever. The snacks look great. You now gotta greet your guests." The dancer said as he made his way back to the living room.

"Hyunjinnie?"

"Yongbokie?"

Two surprised voices were followed up by giggles.

Seungmin watched as Hyunjin let Felix jump into his arms as Jeongin awkwardly stood by the door. The brunette hadn't been aware that his roommate and Jeongin's older cousin knew each other.

"Oh. It's the ferret! Didn't know you'd be here." Minho spoke up and walked towards the cuddling duo, interrupting Seungmin's train of thoughts.

Felix giggled at Seungmin's confused expression.

"Hyunjinnie dances at the same studio Minho-hyung and I go to!"

"Oh."

As the dancers kept giggling and joking around, Jeongin shut the door behind him and walked up to Seungmin.

"Hey."

"Hey."

Their pretend seriousness did not last long before Jeongin burst into a few giggles, making Seungmin smirk.

"So, when are hyungs coming?" Jeongin questioned, his hand finding its way around Seungmin's waist as everyone moved towards the living room where Jisung was making a playlist to blast through the speakers.

"I think they'll pop up in half an hour or so." Seungmin answered, unphased by Jeongin's attempt at flirting.

"I see…" Jeongin moved towards the armchair, he knew Seungmin liked to sit on the arm of, and sat down.

"Do we have to wait until the hyungs are here to start drinking?" Jisung asked, almost complaining.

"Impatient aren't you?" Hyunjin asked with a smirk, making Jisung roll his eyes.

"Look, I need social lubricant okay? I'm not like Lixie the social butterfly!"

Seungmin fake gagged as he brought out some plastic cups, eyeing Jeongin to grab the drinks. "Please don't ever word it like that."

Jeongin shot up from the arm chair, rushing to the kitchen.

"Iyen-ah! Bring some snacks too!" Hyunjin called out.

"Get them yourself!" Jeongin argued, yet still came back with both tequila and snacks.

They took their first shot and let Jisung blast his music. Seungmin finally sat next to Jeongin, letting the younger wrap his arms around the brunette's waist.

Seungmin looked around. Minho was half on Jisung's lap, who was still busy perfecting the queue of which song would play next. Hyunjin was playing with Felix's hair as the two talked. Felix was sipping his second drink already. Seungmin watched as the blond put his cup down, yawned and stretched a bit, not before wincing. He then grabbed his cup again and kept talking to Hyunjin as if nothing happened. The brunette was soon distracted by the absence of Jeongin's arms snaking around his waist. He turned around to see the younger grab himself a second shot.

"Pour me one too."

Jeongin didn't hesitate to pour his youngest hyung a shot. The duo took their shots, examining each other. After leaving their cups on the coffee table, Jeongin pulled Seungmin onto his lap.

"Aren't you too sober for this?" Seungmin teased, a whine from Jeongin was all he got in response.

Then the doorbell rang again. Breaking Seungmin out of Jeongin's hold again, earning a pout from Jeongin.

Seungmin opened the door, revealing Chan and Changbin with smiles on their faces.

"Hey Minnie!" Chan greeted, ruffling Seungmin's hair as he entered the house followed by Changbin who patted him on the shoulder with a smirk.

"Welcome hyungs. You two are late." Seungmin remarked with a smirk.

"It's Chan-hyung's fault! Damn workaholic." Changbin was quick to defend himself, earning a sigh from Chan.

"Sorry Minnie. We bought soju to make it up to you!" The oldest tried, sighing in relief upon seeing a satisfied smile plastered on Seungmin's face.

"Good. Now hurry. You have people to meet." The youngest of the three guys pushed his hyungs towards the living room.

"Oh yay! Now the party is getting started!" Jisung exclaimed upon seeing his two producer friends entering the living room.

The squirrel-like guy jumped up from his seat, almost making Minho fall over. He then proceeded to do a handshake with Chan and Changbin.

"Welcome hyungs!" Jeongin called out as he waved his hand towards the two producers.

Minho, Hyunjin and Felix who were about to meet the duo for the first time awkwardly sat there.

After greeting their friends, Chan and Changbin finally turned towards the three dancers.

"Hello there! I'm Bang Chan" Chan said with a toothy grin and a little head bow.

"I'm Seo Changbin." Changbin introduced, copying Chan's actions.

"Lee Minho."

"I'm Hwang Hyunjin."

"Lee Felix! Nice to meet you hyungs!" Felix exclaimed after Minho and Hyunjin, giving the two producers a very exaggerated 90 degree bow.

Changbin chuckled. "How about we sit down so Chan-hyung and I can finally take a shot?" he suggested as he moved towards the couch.

Minho watched Felix shakily reach for his glass of wine. The blond was drinking a bit too much for the oldest dancer's liking.

"You doing okay Yongbok-ah?"

Minho watched as Felix ripped his attention off of the silly story Changbin was telling to face him. The blond offered a bright smile.

"Yep!" Felix answered, popping the "p" before chugging the exact glass of wine Minho was worried about.

Minho side eyed Seungmin, glaring at the puppy-like boy in hopes of non-verbal communication. All Seungmin offered in return was a shrug and a shot of a look towards Felix's hands. The duo is snapped back into reality with shrieks coming from Chan and Felix.

"You're an Aussie too?"

"Yo! Mate!"

Suddenly, the two were hugging and laughing hysterically. Minho chuckled. The duo were ridiculous.

Before he could observe Felix further, he was pulled onto Jisung's lap.

"Hey!"

"Hey Jagiya."

Minho felt his cheeks heat up. "What do you want Sungie?"

"Just a little kiss!"

Minho chuckled. "You're such a loser you know?"

Hyunjin watched in sheer horror as Jisung and Minho got carried away. He leaned over to Felix who was talking to Chan and Changbin at the same time to whisper in the blond's ear.

"Do they always do this when they are drunk?"

Felix snickered. "They are like this when sober too."

"Oh then they are disgustingly affectionate."

"Yep."

Suddenly, Hyunjin had a bright idea.

"Well considering dancer hyung is busy, would you guys wanna hear about the embarrassing things he's done in dance class?" the tallest dancer suggested with a smirk.

He was met with three enthusiastic yeses from Chan, Changbin and Felix.

The four of them were cramped on the couch as Hyunjin was telling yet another story of Minho slipping in the most ridiculous way possible. Sat next to him was Chan who was way too invested. Squished in between Chan and Changbin was Felix. He was sipping on yet another glass of wine as he looked around.

Seungmin and Jeongin were getting touchy on the armchair while Minho and Jisung were busy making out on the second couch. Felix could feel his mind getting foggier and fuzzier as he kept taking more sips out of his glass of wine. Continuing to drink however, was proving itself to be more and more difficult as his shaky hands and drowsy state started to betray him.

"Psst… Yongbok-ah. Are you okay?" Felix heard Changbin whisper. He was thankful that the producer didn't draw attention to him or interrupted the other duos in the room.

"Mmm… yeah!" Felix slurred.

"Oh! Have I told ya 'bout the time I…" The blond started in an attempt to change the topic, only to trail off and interrupt himself with a yawn.

Changbin paniced momentarily, noticing how drowsy Felix had gotten. He looked over at Seungmin for help, figuring the blond's roommate would know what to do, only to be disappointed at how busy Seungmin was by flirting with Jeongin.

"I forgot what I was gonna say." Felix said with a giggle, snapping Changbin out of his thoughts.

"You're silly Yongbok-ah."

Felix chuckled, reaching for a cup. However, his attempts at getting his nth drink of the night were prevented by a hand wrapping around his wrist.

"I think you've had enough for tonight Yongbok-ah."

"Mmm… Ya say so Binnie-hyung?"

"Yes Bok-ah."

Felix let out another yawn as he quit trying to reach for his drink. Changbin pouted as he felt Felix's hands shake in his hold.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"Mhm… my body is just a bit weird cuz I'm always sore n stuff." Felix rambled as he leaned onto Changbin's side, noticing how muscular and bulky the shorter producer was.

"One time I actually fell asleep while studying with Minnie cuz I was so exhausted from studying while being shaky and achy and then Minmin-hyungie had to…" The blond trailed off again as his eyes drooped closed.

Changbin was panicking again. Had Felix just fallen asleep mid sentence? Just how tired and sore the blond was, he wondered.

"Psst, Seungminnie." Changbin tried to get Seungmin's attention as he cradled Felix in his arms.

Seungmin finally took a break from his touchy flirting session with Jeongin to look up.

"Where is Yongbok-ah's room? He fell asleep."

Seungmin failed to hold in a laugh as Jeongin giggled. "It's the first door on the right."

Minho and Jisung also managed to turn their attention to what was going on by this time.

Hyunjin chuckled, swaying towards Chan who tried to stifle his giggles with his hand.

Changbin smiled fondly at the blond who was peacefully snoozing in his arms. As he followed Seungmin's directions to Felix's room. Changbin had realized how soft he felt towards Felix even though they had only known each other for less than a day.

Changbin tucked the blond into his bed, turned off the lights and shut the door on his way out to ensure the noises from the living room wouldn't bother Felix. He then went back to the living room and took his place on the couch. Chan was looking at him with a smirk on his face.

"What is it, Channie-hyung?"

"You think he's cute don't you?"

"Please shut up!"
