Work Text:

Caelus shifted in place, his tailbone a little sore. He could hear voices but was too weak to make out any words. He tried to force his eyes open, but they would not respond, laying despondent and blocking any hope of him making out anything in front of him. He couldn’t tell how much time had passed since he had gained consciousness, but at some point, the voices had started to make more sense. How many were there? 1? 2? 3?

He could barely make out the sound of a conversation.

“Weren’t their coordinates sent out from the space station…?”
A slightly worried male voice.

“Who cares? They’re here and alive. Do they look like a mannequin to you?”

An indignant female voice.

He struggled to hold onto the sounds of their voices, head ringing with the effort.

“...Weak heartbeat and pulse… March, you better do CPR.”

So her name is March. Wait, huh? CPR? For me? I don’t need CPR. I think.

He could feel his heartbeat pounding in his ears just fine.

“Huh!? Hehe… I–I’ve never done it before! Dan Heng, you do it!”

Dan Heng.. that’s pretty, but I’m not sure if I want anyone forcing my heartbeat to start when I don’t need it. What if they break my ribs? These guys have a weird idea of first aid.

He tried once more to open his eyes, to no avail. He wanted to match a face to the names and voices, but ultimately couldn’t. He struggled against eyelids that refused to open, worried these people were somehow going to cause medical malpractice despite clearly not being medical practitioners. All of a sudden, he felt a soft pair of lips on his, slightly forcing his mouth open and breathing into his lungs. Huh???? Despite his honest horror at their lack of basic medical knowledge, he could feel the stress of the situation melting away, the sweet breath of his ‘resuscitator’ filling his mouth and lungs. Without realising, he had slowly begun to slowly open his mouth wider, though not to allow more breath in as the warm breath slowly overtook him, awakening his senses.

Surprisingly, this poorly executed and completely unnecessary resuscitation was the key to getting his nerves to respond. Maybe it wasn’t the resuscitation. Without thinking, Caelus licked into the open mouth that was on his, tasting the inside, which was just as sweet as he hoped it’d be. All shock aside, the kiss felt undeniably good, and the strong hands that held his arms in place were as grounding as they were comforting. Before he had the chance to realise what he was doing, the person kissing him paused for just a moment to take another breath, then reconnected their lips, responding with surprising fervour. Their tongues intertwined in the middle, the stranger’s tongue exploring the inside of his mouth, licking his teeth and pressing into the roof of his mouth. As though they could not get enough of the taste of the inside of his mouth, just as Caelus could not.

While they continued to do what they were doing, Caelus took a moment to zone out and recount the conversation he had heard before this. After thinking for a little longer, he realised that this was Dan Heng, the sweet, worried male he had heard before. Male? This is a guy? Ehhh… Who cares. At some point, Caelus had lost track of the time that had passed, lost to the feeling of Dan Heng on top of him. Unfortunately, after a little while longer, Caelus ran out of breath and opened his eyes, breaking away. By then, one of Dan Heng’s hands held his jaw, the other holding up the back of his head. His own hands were grasping the folds of Dan Heng’s jacket. He looked up, meeting the most precious, beautiful turquoise eyes he could remember seeing. He could feel his cheeks heating up, any previous issues with a weak heartbeat now replaced by a heartbeat hammering so hard at his ribcage it threatened to break it. Realising what he’d just done, Dan Heng immediately scooted back and Caelus got a good look at him. He had fluffy black hair, sharp features and sculpted muscles that were barely visible under his clothes. Beautiful.

Dan Heng turned to look to the side, and Caelus followed his gaze to find a girl with bright pink hair and sparkling eyes holding up a blue Polaroid camera. “Man, this is some insane blackmail, Dan Heng,” she giggled, taking out what seemed to be the 5th picture she had taken. There were already some developed ones sticking out of her pocket. Dan Heng immediately turned back to face Caelus, his cheeks red enough that Caelus thought maybe this man was even more flustered than he was. “I- Uhh.. I’m Dan Heng, that’s March 7th. Um… Nice to meet you?” He offered hesitantly, averting his gaze now and then to glare daggers at the pictures in March’s pocket. “Hi, I’m.. I’m Caelus,” he replied, almost forgetting his own name. “Also, it’s only blackmail if you treat it as blackmail. I personally didn’t regret that at all, in fact I’d do it again. Kind of defeats the purpose, right?” He asked, smiling. Dan Heng turned impossibly redder while March 7th groaned, rolling her eyes. “Can’t you be at least a little bit embarrassed? That’s no fun, man.”

Dan Heng stood up, offering a hand, which Caelus took right away, steadying himself. He followed the two of them as March flashed the upsettingly detailed shots of Dan Heng basically on top of Caelus and Dan Heng tried in vain to take the pictures from her.

What a start…

Thanks, Kafka.
