There is something special that Nico Robin adores about the rain. Maybe it’s the thundering rumble of the storms, shaking the trees and signaling the impending downpour. Maybe it’s the knowledge that new growth, new life always follows the rain and thunderstorms. Maybe it’s the knowledge, the harrowing truth behind the archaeologist’s firsthand experience that rain is one of the only forces strong enough to defeat walls of fire billowing across a treasured land. Whatever the reason, Nico Robin secretly smiles every time she awakes to rain against the ship’s deck or when Nami announces her navigator instincts tell her that a storm is brewing. If they dock during a storm, the rest of the crew usually crowds in the galley or the crow’s nest as they play a game or simply enjoy one another’s company, whereas Robin can usually be found on the deck, allowing the rain to pepper her bare skin, to wash her sins away, if only momentarily.
“Come on an adventure with me today,” Robin proposes one early morning as she and Zoro lie in each other’s embrace, their bare chests pressed together as they kiss and stare into one another’s eyes.
“Sweetheart,” Zoro chuckles, his rumbling laughter shaking his pectorals and making a smile overcome Robin’s face. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there’s a raging storm going on outside,” he deadpans, pressing a kiss to the top of Robin’s raven-haired head.
“Really? Why, I had no idea,” Robin feigns ignorance, making Zoro snort in response.
“I adore your sarcasm,” Zoro whispers, slipping out of the bed to grab an old shirt and some pants from the back of a chair. “Now, c’mon and get up if you’re still wanting to go on this adventure,” he says.
“You would adventure with me even in the rain?” Robin inquires, love sparkling in her eyes.
“Absolutely! I wouldn’t miss a chance to see you look so beautiful with your wet hair and clothes sticking deliciously to your body,” Zoro wickedly grins.
Robin throws a pillow at his chest, climbing out of bed to dress in her favorite white shirt.
The two exit their cabin on the Thousand Sunny, having moved into Zoro’s cabin together permanently a few months ago when they married, noting the silence that envelopes the rest of the Thousand Sunny.
“Good, the rest of the crew must still be asleep,” Zoro muses, keeping his voice a whisper so as not to wake anyone else on the ship.
“I’m all for everyone still staying asleep to get their rest, but why are you happy that everyone is still sleeping?” Robin inquires, slipping her hand into Zoro’s and allowing him to guide her down the rope ladder leading up to the main deck.
“Because no one will be there to try to reign my urges to kiss you and proclaim you as mine until the end of the world comes to take us,” Zoro remarks, a sudden seriousness in his voice as he pulls Robin out into the downpour, racing as fast as he can down the shore, kicking up sprays of water as he runs.
Robin simply laughs in delight at the sight before her, quickly running behind her beloved partner, her white shirt already soaking with rain water and sticking to her body, accentuating her already ample curves and the shape of her breasts. Once he is satisfied that they are far enough from the prying eyes of the Thousand Sunny, Zoro stops, pulling Robin to his chest before dipping her and ravishing her lips, her cheeks, and her neck with passionate kisses and the occasional nip with his teeth. Robin eagerly and greedily returns the kisses, appreciating once again just how overly affectionate Roronoa Zoro, soon to be the world’s greatest swordsman, truly is to her. The archaeologist softly gasps as Zoro’s large hand settles to gently cup the underside of her right breast, his eyes glazing over with a particular hunger she has grown to learn all too well. Robin happily acquiesces, throwing herself into the swordsman’s arms, wrapping her legs securely around his hips and allowing Zoro to spin her around in the rain, the water easily soaking them from head to toe, surrounding them in their own little bubble of happiness, love, and lust for one another. If rainy day mornings with Robin could be as glorious as this one, then Zoro secretly begins hoping that it can rain every day of the week for the foreseeable future. He lies her down on the bank of the shore, kneeling over her as he prepares to once again fully devote himself to the woman he loves.
