“Never figured I’d be on one of these” He sighed out, staring into the ocean ahead, leaning against the rails with his arms, clearly enjoying the sun setting view ahead. She smiles at his words, moving him to face her so she could fix his hair that got messed up from the wind, and he lets her.
“Well, who would’ve known?” Ada muttered, glancing over her shoulder for a moment, as if checking for something, or rather someone. They were still on a mission anyway, going as a newly married couple going on their honeymoon. It seemed believable enough, being extremely close and wearing a pair of rings Leon specifically bought for this.
“Do you see ‘em?” Leon asked, noticing her eyes flickering around the dock, he could notice the iris in her left eye glowing a light hue, probably scanning the people for their identities and all that. They didn’t know what their target looked like, but with Ada’s iris it’d be easier to figure it out.
She shook her head in reply, looking back up at Leon with a light blink, causing the iris to turn off again so it wasn’t spotted anymore. He sighed in response, dropping his head, causing his forehead to bump into hers, which made a laugh leave her lips.
“This is harder than I thought it would be” She admitted, running a hand through her hair as she turned back to look at the sea once again. Leon does the same, resting his chin against his palm as he watches the water move under the ship.
“I say we give it time, that guy must be down in the rooms” He figured, fixing up the strap of Ada’s plaid summer dress. She hums in agreement, letting him adjust it for her, fiddling with the ring on her finger as she stays deep in thought, trying to figure out how to get to the bottom of this.
“What if it’s bait?” Ada asked, furrowing her eyebrows as she remembered Leon’s incident with that mission he went on with his other coworkers. It could be possible, but this cruise wasn’t heading to a destination for a good four days to come, nor was it stopping at an island so she didn’t know if her suspicion was true.
“Like Alcatraz?” Leon guessed, reminding her of the name she had forgotten, and she nodded, biting her lip at the thought. She hoped it didn’t end with some stupid bio weapons because she was both sick and disgusted from having to deal with those all the damn time.
“Hopefully it’s not” She huffed, flattening down her dress that moved from the wind as she moved around to look through the people on the dock again, biting at her nail as she checked if anyone new went on, but there wasn’t any, and she huffed out as she looked back at him.
“Let’s go walk down the other floors, maybe we’ll spy him there?” He suggested, smiling softly and putting his arm out for her when she agreed. Ada held onto Leon’s arm, walking alongside him as she slid off her sun hat and fixed her hair, letting it rest on her shoulder blades with the band of it tied against her neck so it didn’t fall.
“You just wanna see the restaurant” Ada teased, letting out a light chuckle as she nudged him in the side, causing him to roll his eyes at her correct guess. She shook her head, he was always so predictable, it was like watching a cliche show where you can tell what all the events will be before even watching it.
“What if I’m a bit hungry?” Leon muttered, raising his eyebrows as he looked down to her. She deadpanned at him, as if asking ‘are you serious?’ with her eyes. There was no way he was genuine about that because they just had an early dinner before getting onto the cruise.
“You just wanna check if there’s a bar” She guessed out again, earning a light glare from him as he scrunched his nose, squinting at her fro a second as he continued walked, pushing the doors of the restaurant open, spotting the crowds of people still having their dinner.
“Check” He muttered to her as he lead her to a table in the corner, just so that he was sure no one was behind them for Ada to awkwardly turn around and eye everyone for their identities, which she does, turning the iris back on and scanning everyone in the room, a soft gasp leaving her lips.
“The bartender” Ada whispered, looking back at Leon as she blinked a few times to turn the iris off once again, biting her lip and staying silent when the waiter approached their table. Leon just ordered a drink for the two of them, a whiskey for himself and champagne for her.
“The bartender?” Leon whispered back once the waiter left, leaning his elbows on the table as they shared their hushed conversation. Ada nodded, glancing at the man standing at the bar a few times, nodding once.
“He looks like it” She pointed out, tilting her head to the side, resting her cheek against her palm, her eyes flickering to Leon immediately as she noticed the bartender and their supposed target looking around the bar.
“He’s looking?” He raised an eyebrow, noticing the way Ada immediately turned to him, pretending to smile at something he said, immediately catching onto what she was doing as she held his hand from across the table.
“Let’s take our drinks to our room” Ada suggested when the waiter placed their two glasses in front of each other, reaching for her drink and taking a sip before she stood up. Leon nodded, catching onto her intentions as he took his drink as well, wrapping his free arm around her waist as he led them out.
“What do you think his intentions are by being a bartender? This guy’s supposed to be a billionaire criminal” Leon asked, sitting on the bed in their room, taking off his shoes as he crossed his legs, moving his hair out of his eyes as he took another sip from his whiskey, watching Ada slip off her heels and sit down beside him.
“I’m not sure… but it’s definitely nothing good, we can’t be too laid back” She told him, sipping her own drink before reaching for the laptop she hid under the bed, opening it and starting to tap away on it. Leon just watched silently, letting out a low huff as he placed his glass on the nightstand.
“And to think I was finally gonna get a break” He grumbled, dropping back on the bed, smiling as his head just sank down between the pillows. They were so fluffy, it felt like he was sleeping on clouds.
“His room is the one above ours” Ada randomly commented after a moment, tapping Leon on the abdomen for him to sit up and see. He huffed as he did so, squinting at the screen for a moment before he saw a list of the staff members and all of their information on it.
“So he’s temporarily a staff member” Leon mumbled, looking at their target’s information. No wonder they didn’t find his name on the guests list, he was in as a staff member all along, they should’ve suspected that when they didn’t find the man among the group of guests boarding the cruise.
“Well now we’ve figured something out” She huffed, dropping back on the bed, watching him lean over her, his arm holding him up as he moved her sun hat out from under her, tossing it over, letting it land on their suitcases.
“We have time until our next move, right?” He teased, nudging her shoulder with his head, and she rolled her eyes at his action, fully aware of his intentions. She wasn’t going to let him do what he wants so easily, not with that attitude.
“You’re like a damn dog” Ada laughed out, pushing his head away but he was background vocals right at her, his mouth clamping onto her neck, trailing his touch to her collarbone but she tried to nudge him away once again.
“Hmm.. sure” Leon hummed, peppering her neck with light kisses, just liking the fact that he was close to her, not that he’d ever admit it though. He knew Ada would never admit some things she likes in their relationship or interactions, and he had his own things too.
“I already have enough to cover” She scolded him, holding his face away, smiling at the way he scowled at her, pulling away and crossing his arms over his chest, laying back down on the bed with his back to her and she cooed at his movements.
“Aww.. did you get sad?” Ada cooed, climbing onto him and poking his face, trailing her fingers along his cheeks and neck to get him to look back at her, causing him to grumble before grabbing her and holding her flush against him, earning a laugh from her.
“Careful, handsome. You’ll get the ladies looking” She winked as she moved between the wooden lounge chairs, sitting on the edge of the chair Leon was sitting on. He chuckled at her comment, putting his arms down from where they were behind his head, sitting with his arms propping him up right, taking off his sunglasses.
“You’re talking” He muttered back, fixing her sun hat for her, tilting it up so he could see her face better. She scrunched her nose at his comment, nudging him in the shoulder, watching him wince at her touch, causing her to raise an eyebrow.
“I told you not to sit in the sun after noon” Ada laughed, taking out a sunburn cream from her bag, one she got with her just in case. She knew he’d do something stupid while they were on here, and this was definitely one of those dumb things he could’ve done.
“I know I know, but I got sick of the room” Leon dropped his head, allowing her to rub the cold cream over his skin, a light hiss leaving his lips as she touched him. She hummed, moving his hair out of his face, putting some of the cream on his cheeks and forehead.
“Could’ve put on sunscreen, I literally bought it right before we went on the ship” She lightly scolded him, taking the bottle out of her bag and showing it to him. He grumbled something she didn’t quite hear, but she guessed that he was just complaining about how she was always right.
“Whatever, what did you research?” He asked, leaning forward as she rubbed the cream over his back, flinching or letting out a hiss every time she touched a certain spot that burnt all too much. Ada let out a sigh, cleaning her hand with a wet wipe after making sure every burn was covered.
“Well… if I’m able to get into the room while he’s on his shift, we’ll be done and we can leave when the ship stops at the next port” Ada explained, folding one leg over the other. They’ve been on the cruise for three days now, reaching the port would be on the next day, so if she’s able to sneak into the room, take the data they need and leave right as they reach the port, it’d be done easily and they’d have a few days break before heading back home.
“Okay, we reach the port at 2am, I’m pretty sure, if I stay a little extra long at the bar you should be able to get what we need” Leon suggested, looking at him phone once just to make sure of the cruise schedule, nodding to himself when he made sure his note about the arrival time was true.
“You just wanna get drunk” She snickered at him, tapping his nose as she thought about his suggestion for a moment. It could work, no bartender would leave his bar if there was a customer, and if Ada was sure enough, there wasn’t another bartender on the cruise for now, not until they reach the port.
“Yeah” He nodded at her words, humming in delight at the thoughts of a cold glass of whiskey, filled to the brim and a few ice cubes making it cooler than it already was. He was moved out of his thoughts upon noticing Ada taking off her sun hat and putting it on top of his own head.
Leon furrowed his eyebrows, looking at her with a questioning look at the action.
“So the sun doesn’t irritate your skin more” Ada commented, taking out the sunscreen from earlier, handing it to him to put it over her shoulders.
He quietly complied, squeezing some of it onto his hands, starting to rub it over her exposed skin.
“You're pretty” Leon mumbled to her, kissing under her ear when he was done. She cooes at the action, nuzzling his face and planting a kiss to his cheek
