Summary
The Doctor and Rose Tyler. A love story told all across the universe but one that came to an abrupt end that day at The Battle of Canary Wharf.
Starting with the appearance of a bride in the Tardis, and working towards the meeting between doctor's Smith and Jones, this fic tells the sorrows and the hardships of two lives torn apart. They said goodbye on the beach that day and now the cracks have closed between the universes. Rose and the Doctor will never see each other again...right?
This is more of a series 2.5 than a series 3 fic and will be mostly not canon compliant. There will be original stories and the occasional episode as we look at the separate lives of the Doctor and Rose. It will be angsty, sad and a bit dark but there is always golden light at the end of the tunnel and calm after the oncoming storm. Never give up on hope and never give up on love because at the end of the day that is what this story is about.
(If you haven't read the previous fic in this series, The Stuff Of Legends, it would probably be best to do so to get all the references of their past adventures plus an understanding of the relationship between the Doctor and Rose and where they stood before they were separated.)

This series expands a lot on the “bits in between” the trouble we see Rose and the Doctor face in the second season. It mostly follows canon up to doomsday, but with an earlier official start to their relationship. They’ve been dating at least 6 months before Rose gets stuck in the parallel world. Luckily, in this story, she’s not stuck for quite as long. It’s about a year and a half for her, and like half a year for the Doctor.
Rose thinks to use the Tardis key to hone her jumps from the start so nearly all her jumps end up being along the Doctors timeline. She briefly met Susan, saw the fourth doctor with Sarah Jane on Skaro from afar, ended up in the time war for 30 mins where she met a galifreyan child named Roski, met the 15th doctor on a blue planet, and the 14th doctor ended up being the one to take her to her current doctor. She ends up back with the doctor during the whole Judoon platoon on the moon episode with Martha.
Also, the Doctor reunites with Jack sooner than canon in this, shortly after being separated from Rose. They seemed to have rebuilt some of the bridge the Doctor had burned down between them, though the Doctor is still keeping his distance. It’s actually on a trip with Jack to return Da Vinci (who wandered out of one of the time fissures that seemed to appear during Rose’s dimension jumps) back to his proper time that he discovers Rose will somehow return to him.
Bad wolf has physically changed Rose in this story: heals faster (NOT immortal and deadly wounds can still kill her), exponentially increased lifespan, and fairly strong telepathic abilities. These changes are mostly discussed and discovered after she returns to the doctors side, but they officially started after the whole Drakkad ship smuggler torture incident.
With Rose back by his side, the Doctor continues his plans to get married to and bond with Rose. He proposes to her on Woman’s Wept and they’ve just completed their marriage and bonding ceremony on Planet Barcelona. Their wedding was just the two of them doing a hand fasting ceremony and the exchange of their galifreyen names for their mental bond.
When they checked into their reservation, they discovered that their future selves had also checked into the same hotel. They’re unsure if there’s a reason for that or if it’s just an accident at this point, but they’ve just received an anonymous message from someone requesting their help getting out of jail. The doctor doesn’t believe it’s their future selves cuz they would’ve contacted him via telepathy or the psychic paper. Rose is also worried about a front desk girl named Flarna who was worried about her husband that didn’t come home the night before.
